Nov 1 2010I Wanna Go!: Vintage Star Wars Travel Posters

Note: This is only six of the eight, and in crappy resolution to boot, hit the jump to see all of them in stunning 450px res!
Steve Thomas is a graphic designer. But not just any graphic designer, oh no -- THE graphic designer responsible for creating these vintage Star Wars travel posters. Not only that, he's cousin to Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's. Just kidding, but I'd still tell it to the girl working the drive through to see if I could score a free Frostie. Shit, I'd even settle for a chili-finger.
Hit the jump to see them all individually.

Thanks to Billy, Annalisa is Not a Geek and Blaqk Panda, who have all visited Dagobah before and suspect the whole "uninhabitable swamp" reputation was fabricated by Yoda to hide his massive space-weed grow op.

Dave Thomas is a Canadian comedic actor, famous for his appearances in SCTV, specifically as one half of the epic Bob & Doug Mackenzie, fucktard.
The founder of Wendys is Col. Harland Sanders.

First off. @3 No two people in this world could possibly have the same name right! Second. I always hated Dave Thomas. (The Wendy's founder not the actor.)
I also have always had a disliking for Frank Perdue. Third. Chilli-Finger?

Isn't a parsec a measure of distance?
13. DickySimms - November 1, 2010 4:40 PM
@12 I was just about to nerd rage about that, too. Whatever moron made these posters doesn't know anything about the source material. The Kessel Run is a term smugglers use for how quickly they can ditch the Imperials (read: cops) while smuggling spice (read: drugs) out of the mines of Kessel. If you don't know that you've clearly had sex this year.
14. DickySimms - November 1, 2010 4:43 PM
Now I feel like a jerk. Turns out there's a little footnote explaining that he does, in fact, know a parsec is a measure of distance. Color me retarded. Which I believe is neon orange.

Pretty sure STAR TOURS (disneyland ride) has had vintage Star Wars travel posters on their walls as you exit the ride into the gift shop.
17. Shizle - November 1, 2010 5:36 PM
@3: Sanders was the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. I believe Dave Thomas founded Wendy's.

If I could choose a chip to cruise the galaxy in, a start destoyer would be in my top 5, most definitely
19. Dishy - November 1, 2010 7:37 PM

@12 and 13
A parsec is indeed a unit of distance. The Kessel run was an established safe route around the "Maw Cluster" of black holes to the spice mines of Kessel. It typically was 18 parsecs in distance, anything shorter would have skirted the Maw Cluster and placed the Spacecraft dangerously close to a black hole's event horizen, or an area of no escape from the gravitational forces of the black hole.
Han's boast of the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs was a testiment to not only the sheer speed of the Millennium Falcon (A faster spacecraft could skirt closer to a black hole), but to Han's bravery, skill and reflexs as a pilot.
