Aug 20 2010Death By Deliciousness: Burger King's 2,500 Calorie Whopper Pizza

burger-pizza.jpg

So there's this Burger King in Times Square called the BK Whopper Bar (you don't even serve booze!) that's selling a 2,520 calorie, $13 Pizza Burger. WTF's a Pizza Burger? The best gotdamn thing you could imagine.

Exclusive to NYC's Whopper Bar. Four flame-broiled Whopper® patties topped with pizza-lovers' favorites (pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce and Tuscan pesto sauce) all on a 9 1/2-inch sesame seed bun.

Of course, Tuscan pesto sauce. I was wondering what the green stuff in my vomit was! And here I thought it was something healthy like lettuce. BWAHAHAHAHA! Lettuce on a cheeseburger. This ain't Jenny Craig!

Thanks to Stone, Kaibedz, navin and Anthony Pants, who could each eat one and still down a small order of onion rings. Awh yeah, don't forget the dipping sauce!

Annnnd America continues to get fatter.

It actually looks good. Also, the calories are not even that bad....it looks like you should split it between 6 people.

too bad the thing never comes out looking like the picture...

that's bigger than schlotzsky's monster sandwich, but less healthier.

416.666.. cal per slice...that's average for a burger

close top!!

Relating to number 1's comment:
Not in America you wouldn't, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

that shits nasssstyyyyyyy,and also delicious

i would like to give that one a reacharound

@2 It contains more calories then one full grown man is advised to eat on 1 day. But still I like to eat one... NOW!

Damn that makes me hungry.

My gut says "I'll have some now."
My arteries say "Oh hell no."
My brain says "you shouldn't."
My scale says "get off me."

You know now that I think about it, my wife tells me the same things...

actually, you're wrong. a full grown moderately active man will need about 3000 calories per day.

but even at that, why would you assume one person would eat this all at one sitting. you're like a person who says an extra large pizza is unhealthy because it's enough food for 6 people...forgetting that 6 people will probably share it.

It isn't that bad since its clearly meant for multiple servings/people. I'm not a fan of BK's burgers but with some decent ones in place of them the concept doesn't look half bad.

"Tuscan pesto sauce"? Pesto isn't a sauce of Tuscany, it's from Liguria. But as an italian (and Tuscanian, actually) I think i'll never understand american's weird culinary habits (EXPECIALLY ABOUT OUR PIZZA).

Ufffff i'm sweating only with the picture hahaha my chest hurts...

Time to buy stock in cardiologists. I can do that, right?

It's like there is a masterplan to make every American a fat joke of a human being.

I still don't understand why everyone keeps thinking that you're going to eat all 2k calories. This is meant for more than one person....just like you typically share any other regular sized pizza.

2500 calories = 2,5 kilo calories.
A full grown man is supposed to eat 2000 kilo calories per day... So I think that it contains aprox. 2500 kilo calories instead of 2,5 kilo calories ;).

and no, I did not read through the other comments for comments relating to this.

@ myself, I correct myself, apperently americans use a different kind of calories...

"In scientific contexts, the name "calorie" refers to the gram calorie, and this unit has the symbol cal. Metric prefixes are used with this name and symbol, so that the kilogram calorie is known as the "kilocalorie" and has the symbol kcal. In other contexts, the kilocalorie is often referred to as a Calorie (capital "C"), or just a calorie, and it has to be inferred from the context that the small calorie is not intended. When referring to food energy, calorie refers to the large calorie."

So in Europe we hear "2000kcal" and that's not the same as the one america use. yay for confusion...

First off: its meant to be shared.
Second: i'm shocked that there are no comments mentioning the fact that you CAN BUY BOOZE at these locations,

"You can have America's favorite beers with America's favorite burger," said Chuck Fallon, the chain's North America honcho.

Personally, I'd like to see BK embrace the craft beer community, maybe work with a decent brewery and stamp out their own brand, to go along with their food.

It's 2,500 calories, yeah, but it's cut into pieces to SHARE

I don't think anybody can use the "it's meant to be shared" argument until they see one of them up close and discover just how many people it will feed without them still feeling hungry. I'm going to guess 2 people, or 1 greedy pig of a person.

@14: "Tuscan" is simply one of those stupid marketing words American restaurants and food manufacturers use to add "class" to their shitty product.

We want America to be fit but yet they make foods like this? I don't get it. Thank god I quit fast food. Waste of food.

HOLY CRAP!!!! pffffft screw sharing its mine all mine (insert evil laugh here)

Yes I'm wrong. Thanks for making me look bad basterd :p. Going not higher then 2500 calories is a common goal if you are on a diet. (Not that i'm fat or on a diet, I just know a lot of real fat people.

@25
If you're fit enough, you can eat something like this without being affected much, by yourself.

Hell yeah, I'll eat the whole thing! And then run four marathons while porking six chicks and dead lifting a MOOSE! ON JUPITER!!!

BK, I love you. And not just because you give me money.

(Don't worry GW, I love you more than BK)
