If this were 3D/stereo, you'd see different surfaces when you moved in relation to the object/image. So it's not quite as billed. It is a neat trick though.

This is an obvious Photoshop job. You can tell because the shadows are all wrong.
This reminds me of a scene in Never Back Down when all Max wants to do is play with his brand new puppy so he takes it for a walk in the middle of a busy street. Ninjas come out from nowhere, beat the crap out of Max and steals his dog. Jake tries to console Max by giving him a more than friendly man hug.

I have this as a hologram. I got it years ago when they had a Jurassic Park exibit at the new york museum of natural history. I got this one and a raptor head doing the same thing.
