Nov 13 2009Yeah, No: Video From Top of The Burj Dubai

This is a video taken from the top of the Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world, at 2,684 ft. Jesus, that's half a mile. Can you believe humans are even capable of this? I can't -- I shit my swim trunks on the high dive once. But, to my credit, I did do one hell of a cannonball.

This Video From the Tip Top of the Burj Dubai Makes Me Sick to My Stomach [gizmodo]

Thanks to Rick, who has dived off higher platforms into a cup of water. I mean, he died, but he did do it.

Fugg that

i have been higher...

holy shit that would be terrifying..

I already shit my self and I just watched the video. I wonder how long it would take for your shit to hit the ground from that height?

why would you make a building that tall thats just ridiculous...

Tower of Babel 2

horf

@2 :nice

mmm skyscraper i love you

Omg, even lookin' at this video gives me creeps)
Yeah, I'm a pussy :(

thats what my penis looks like, from a mile away

Nice sniper spot. Oh, sorry, too much Call of Duty.

Thats right, we have the world's largest tower, largest man made island, largest amount of man made islands, and soon in a year or two, the world's largest mall. It's been built, it's just, it takes time to fill all the rooms.

everlast builing ever seen before .... outstanding @,,@;;

Highest building... worst view

what a ugly place =/

A base jump from that building would be amazing!

I love how there isn't any green. Had to do something with the giant litterbox.

As amazing that building is, its really a shame its being built there. There is no nice view from the top. All you see is sand and dust.

looks like a real life simcity down there...

GW:

I like your site and your commentary on select topics. Now that I've gotten the obligatory nice preface out of the way... You have to admit, almost 50% of your content is directly borrowed from Gizmodo. I've never seen you post something before they do when both sites post on it. The thing that really gets me is, you usually even post the same picture, but just say something about dinosaurs or robots.

Reposting my favorite Gizmodo posts sounds like the best job ever. Where do I sign up?

@20 it's easy, you just make your own site, but you aren't funny so noone will go to it

WHO WANTS TO JOIN THE HALF MILE HIGH CLUB??!!!

In GW's defense, Gizmodo did actually steal the infrared fart thing from Geekologie, so it goes both ways.

Leap of Faith, anyone?

@13 Compensating for something?

@13 yes but, no matter how hard your country may try you will never have the largest ego's, least hated radicalized-religion nor women with the largest breasts

@20 while you're wrong about the sources of GWs material on this website, blogs borrow & share material from each other all the time

The Sears tower er Willis tower is boring. This looks likes fun!

@20......
So the fukk what????? Saves my lazy ass and podgy left mouse digit from having to scour teh interwebs for a tasty dinosaur, robot or visible flatulence related morsel........
Thanks to Geekologie, I never have to think or do anything for myself any more, except spray on a little masculine pheromone aftershave just before that semi-attractive, totally bangable, nurse from community welfare comes in to sponge down my bed sores and remove those hard to reach hoagie leftovers from ma' belli-folds.

So, why don't you delicately place the pointy tip of the Burj tower into your rectal cavity then slide yourself to the bottom.

Oh and FIRST!!!!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!

Anyone notice that that dude was all like "this is the highest point in the world" ?
Actually the earth has the tall things called mountains. Everest clocks in at 29,029 FT.

Be one hell of a suicide

@16- It's been done, I saw the video. What this place needs is radical muslims to take it out with a jet- it's a tower built on capitalism, so it's a fair target too, right? Just because it's in a muslim country doesn't mean that it should be excluded...

@13 and a wonderfully unsustainable economic model that's already falling apart before even coming to fruition.

Guess where all that gas money goes? Hes standing on it.

Awesome! Gotta hand it to them! They had the balls and bills to build it! Two of these should have been built on the site of the WTC!

What a shit hole, hope this disgusting gaudy mess sinks back into the sand

no doubt the economy for dubai is going the way of the dodo

So this is what an ICBM sees before it blows its load....

I found that the average weight of a bowel movement is about .1814 kg and plugged it in to an online calculator. With things like drag not considered, it took about 12.9 seconds. Since the poo would have to exceed it's terminal velocity to do that you can likely figure it may take a little longer till it hits the ground. So I'm guessing it would take about 15-20 seconds for your poo to hit the ground if you took a dump off of the top of the Burj Dubai. But that's mainly just guess work.

@ 20 dude it's like news channels reporting news that other channels filmed and covered originally. Like others have said it saves them the hassle of searching the web for everything that they might like to see. The reason Geekologie works is because of it's writer. People who frequent this site enjoy his taste in stories, his style of storytelling, his dino-fetishes and everything else about him. They trust him to deliver things they will mostly find interesting, and maybe put a more humerous twist on them. Half the story is in the reporting of it. You can make a balnd as fuck story really funny if you caption it properly, which is something our friend the GW writer is, in our opinnion as fans of his site, some thing he does really well.

They 've gotta be living recession free. But if they go into a depression...........sad really.
