Umm....wolverine is a hairy, savage, animal-looking Canadian with mutton chops who smokes cigars. That's part of his appeal...he looks like an animal. This character is an androgynous lanky anime guy that looks basically the same as every other androgynous lanky anime guy. (Shhh, put in some seizure-inducing flashes and slow-motion, they won't notice....)

Anime - the art of storytelling action-sequences the way a 10-year old boy with ADD would and everything else told like a mushy, naive 10-year old girl would. Except with a larger budget and possibly more electric guitars (not necessarily).

ironman was okay, but spinetree was spot on about wolverine. how can they even say that's wolverine when it's clearly a very gay anime rip-off of one of my favorite childhood heroes, the only thing that even resembles wolverine is the claws. I really hope they can fix that before they try and release that garbage.

@25 your anger is misplaced. Anime is not the problem here. If you want to blame someone for 'ruining your favorite comic book characters' then it should be Marvel. You don't need to like Anime but its not like Mad House and other Anime studious own the IP for this material. They may have bid on who got the contract but that means Marvel already wanted to make them into Anime. It could also be a business decision trying to have their comics compete on a better playing with Manga in Japan so they can bring your favorite comic book heroes to more people. Honestly there is no reason to hate their decision but there is also no reason to support it either.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie NEver BAck Down where Max is on a submarine thats attacked by a giant squid. The captain electrifies the hull in order to shock the beast, and max wonders, if the generator is completely inside the ship where was the hull grounded to.

That 1 minute was better then the entire movie of ironman

wolverine looks like a girl, no question, pretty sad. but the worst thing about both of these teasers is the fact that they made you sit through 45 seconds of BS self promotion before you saw anything. if they eat up a third of the footage for this, how long are the opening sequences going to be on the actual show ;-)

well considering that they are Japanese product i like them, but i do have a huge issue with the wolverine trailer. its just not right..... considering even the Japanese have had x men products, games , and even movies you would think that they would at least understand how Americans as a whole think of wolverine. and that just isn't it.....

I'm an anime fan, and really, the Wolverine looks gay, and the Ironman one will fall apart when there is no action involved. I can't stand an anime in which the characters were so poorly designed, and the real fail here is that the characters were already designed, just not respected (Mostly Wolverine, Ironman was actually perfect in that sense). I know Batman isn't Marvel, but that was better for anime because he's like a ninja, take a look at Gotham Knight, now that was GOOD.

I mean, going out on a limb here, but it could either be a) a reimagining of him, or b) a bastard son he had that gained his mutation, somehow got his claws all adamantium'd and fights oni and shit.

I'm going to delude myself that it's one of these, because I refuse to believe that this would go through Marvel execs and shit. Wolverine is one of Marvel's flagship characters, his look is pretty damn iconic, and I don't think they would change that without good reason. Then again, Marvel approved Secret Invasion, so if that boring shit got through, who knows what else they'd do.

The Iron Man one looks pretty good. Anime just knows how to do mecha.

I don't know. Sure, the Ironman one looks pretty badass, but the movie was so amazing. I don't think as many people would have gone to see it if it were animated. There's just something so...tired and predictible with anime.
I mean, you know at some point the characters will fly through the air, then go in slow motion, maybe some bouncing juggs, then you get a close up of their eyes and suddenly something will dramatically explode/die.
It's great they wanna make a change and expand to fit a wider range of audience and all, but they may end up losing a lot of the fans in the process.

As for Wolverine, all I'm going to say is this;
