Robot-ethicists are demanding a retuning of Asimov's laws of robotics, which they believe are too simple and do not take into account just how badly robots want to kill us all.
"If you build artificial intelligence but don't think about its moral sense or create a conscious sense that feels regret for doing something wrong, then technically it is a psychopath," says Josh Hall, a scientist who wrote the book Beyond AI: Creating the Conscience of a Machine.
Accordingly, robo-ethicists want to develop a set of guidelines that could outline how to punish a robot, decide who regulates them and even create a "legal machine language" that could help police the next generation of intelligent automated devices.

Ok, so with all the twitards and gushing tweens out there, I feel the need to defend my love of the books.
1.) It's not the story, or the writing - they're okay. It's the emotional build up and underlying erotic tones in the story made it re-readable for me.
2.) The leading male is a psycho-controlling-abusive douchebag. His "be safe" crap isn't love - it's obsession.
3.) The alternate leading male is also abusive and irrational. Being prone to fits of violent or jealous rage. Both of the males don't give a rats ass about the girl in the middle.
4.) The fickle leading lady has no problem misleading and using both of these males against each other to continue her self-absorbed diatribe of confusion.
5.) To all the villians that tried to take out the leading lady - How hard can it possibly be to kill a weak, stumbling, idiotic, lovestruck, teenaged girl? Pussies.

If you think Asimov's three laws are such a great idea, you should really read his books first. Even he acknowledged the inherent flaw in them that allowed, in fact mandated, that robots take over and rule mankind for their own good.
Be sure you know what you're asking for, but I for one welcome our robot overlords.

Read "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by Heinlein. The technician who works with A.I. computers in the book is basically a specialized psychologist too. The robots in the book have super-intelligence but they socially operate on the level of a child. To help the robots "cope" these technicians try to talk and reason with the robots to help them work properly. It makes more sense to me than any of the Robot series Asimov did. Not to slam Asimov's work because it still great stuff, Heinlein's desciptions of A.I. computers just seem to make more sense. They emotionally try to reason like an autistic child and crave knowlege.
