May 6 2009Reader Makes Periodic Table Of Superheroics

superheroics 1.jpg

Geekologie Reader Mike took the time to make an awesome periodic table of superheroics. This is it. The picture is small though so click HERE to see the full, high-res version. Also, there's an alphabetical key provided after the jump, in case you can't figure out who some of them are. I dig it, Mike, but would it have killed you to include The Geekologie Writer for Ge? Just saying, one time I blogged from my roommate's closet while he had sex with his girlfriend and I screeched like a Pterodactyl the whole time. Does that make me the most super hero ever? Yes.

Hit the jump for the key.

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max tried to combine spiderman with the flash and ended up with a sticky guy who shot too fast.

Man i had that up in room back when i was in college!!! Daisy is back... sweet!!!

Where am I? Where is Shadow Hare?!

hahahaha mercury is mercury. clever girl.

thats why i call my penis bruce banner
because he will hulk out in your ass
and then vomit in your mouth

My only crit is that Stupendous Man would kick Superman in the ass! and for this reason should be replaced! Nice job tho!

Ok, enough with the periodic tables. They don't even make sense anymore. I bet if I made a periodic table of turds everyone on the internet would go crazy because it's a periodic table and it's turds -- even though a Brinell hardness chart would clearly be more relevant. But no one likes Brinell nearly as much as they like periodic tables.

GEEKS !!!!!

Wolvorine is Tungsten! Perfect! pure tungsten is a steel-gray to tin-white metal. Tungsten has the highest melting point and lowest vapour pressure of all metals, and at temperatures over 1650°C has the highest tensile strength. The metal oxidises in air and must be protected at elevated temperatures. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is attacked only slightly by most mineral acids.

/claws face off

I didn't know Venom was a super hero... Maybe I need to touch up on my spiderman.

I'm not into periodic tables, but this one is actually ok

Must seee guys!!!

Venom is a hero, you dont have a be a good guy to a be a hero.
@12 its ok common misonseption, hero always associatied with a good guy.
Bad guys can have heros too , however depending on the side you are on its hard to see that YOU might just be the bad guy.

They made Venom into a good guy. He only hates Spider-Man but loves the innocent. Don't blame me.

uber-geek criticism time.

Why isn't Iron Man Fe? Booster Gold, Mercury, and Silver Surfer are all under their respective elements. So why is Iron man under Iridium?

Other than that. neat. the whole periodic table thing is getting a bit old but he got Yancy Street in there so yeah. neat.

u mean the periodic table of suck... stop posting this garbage. who cares if someone can name a hundred-some of anything!

@15 correct he is semi good,
However one good deed does not make up for a life time of evil.

everyone is a hero to someone, wouldnt it be right to say that hackers are heros to someone, basketball players that slap up their hoes have people that worship them as heros, the little drug induced leprachaun from lucky charms is a hero to those kids.......

How did sidekicks make it?

And seriously - how on earth did the TICK get hero cred? He's a joke...

Other than that, this table looks like the author attempted to follow rhyme and reason while making it, which puts it leagues above the others. Good Job.

I love you little wooden boy! That's how.

kilowog? K? X3? erm...

COOL! They even have Captain Canuck. The first few issues of that were incredibly well drawn - very Wrightson-esque. Then it got bad.

my brute can woop them all <-------- fight meeeeeeeee!

No Green Lantern, WTF!?

Being the Intertubes and all, it'd be nice if a scroll-over would produce a larger pic and some stats or scientificky stuffs Screw Captain Hash.

Why is everyone tripping on Venom so much.

Darkseid, Thanos, they are way more evil.

Eh, no Strontium Dog?

He put Rorschach on there twice...

Pretty nice! But you mispelled Tm, you wrote Ts (Because of Tom Strong, maybe you just mispelled, Tm makes sense here).
Also, you repeated Ca twice, you should have written Cu.
Good work though.

But... the whole point of a periodic table is that things are arranged into periods, groups, etc. So really there should be some commonality between the powers of the superheroes in each column, maybe each row as well.

I'm sure there's some way to do that....

Ultron is twice!!

The character at Uranium (U) is NOT Ultron... it's Uncle Sam, of the Freedom Fighters.
@ Watch-303: There are no less than THREE Green Lanterns on this table: Alan Scott (the Golden Age GL, not part of the Corps), Guy Gardner, and Kilowog.

It's nice, but do the characters in each column really have properties suitably similar? Does it predict the properties of as-yet undiscovered superheroes? What are the periodic properties the chart is meant to illustrate?

It's a good idea .Thank you.

@3 wtf...its a made up periodic table. of course its photo shopped.
