Dec 25 20088-Bit Jesus: Classic Christmas Songs in the Style of Classic NES Games

8bit-jesus.jpg

8-Bit Jesus is an 18 track album featuring everyone's favorite Christmas tunes, but created using the music from classic NES games. It was all amazingly well made by Doctor Octoroc. I particularly enjoyed "We Three Konami", "8 Days of Master Robots", "Joy to Commando", "Super Jingle Bros.", "Bubbles We Have Heard On Bobble", "What Guardian is Legend?", "Icarus! The Angels Sing", "O Come, All Ye Vampires", "Kraid, Rest Ye Merry Mother Brain", and "Have Yourself A Final Little Fantasy". Okay, they're all good.

You can listen to and download the whole album for free HERE, buuuuuut Doctor Octoroc's ultra-cute, 6-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ein (undoubtedly and awesomely named after Cowboy Bebop), has had to have surgery recently. If you donate $15 the doctor will send you a physical copy of the CD, and you'll help Ein in the process (heart-melting picture after jump). Plus, since it's Christmas and all, if you help the doctor I'll steal St. Peter's "no" book and erase your name for that thing you did. You thought I didn't know! Oh I know.

Hit the jump to see a picture of the cute little guy.

Thanks to MoD, who risked his life to save a litter of puppies from a burning building. Thrice.

FIRST!

^^Idiot!

Also, this is awesome. Downloading it now, can't wait to hear it...

@3 You heartless bastard, did you not see the picture of a puppy?

@4 yea I did. But I'm cheap enough where I don't care.

Also, listening to it now I'm somewhat dissapointed. Sounds like he just took clips from various games and spliced them together. I was thinking he composed it all himself.

Horrible!

It's Blasphemy!

Ears burning!!!

@5 I agree. I mean, no disrespect to the man but it seems like I could do them myself as well.

Anyways, big ups to doc for fighting for his pooch. I feel sorry dawg.

@ 5 and 7

You need to listen a little more carefully I think. I do a lot of arrangements and it's actually quite interesting how he combined the melodies and structures of the original game pieces along with the christmas tune. Like the combination of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas with the "Prologue" from Final Fantasy. He's not just splicing things together and it's actually done quite well.

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like the scene in the movie Never Back Down where MAx gets a pink bunny suit for christmas, and also a BB gun. Later he almost shoots his eye out, and the neighbors dog attacks their turkey. They end up eating christmas dinner in the chinese restaurant.

It's like deja-vu with Daisy here, 24 hour marathon on tbs deja-vu that is!!

corgis are so cute!

That is the dog i want! You think if i sent him 25 easy payments of 14.99 I could get the dog?

@11, I'd do a 9/11 on you anytime darling, Even the interracial way.

I'd f*** you and get the whole town to do your entire race out.
Can the GW writer band this bitch / bastard?

Now!

screw your NES. the commodore 64 ruled.

FAKE!!!!

This is clearly a fake. The shadows are all wrong.

This ball of creativity was shot out of a cannon in the shape of a scene from the movie Tender Dracula.
Leonard Sparks was raking his lawn when he noticed that his neighbour, Dracula, had put a pink flamingo in his front yard.
This contravened the strict deceny policies of their gated community in drunken overdubbed french land, and therefore Leonard had no choice but to report Dracula's actions to the commity.
Thereafter a petty feud persisted between the two men, on one occassion resulting in Dracula's resurrected man servant walking the dog several times a day on Leonard Sparks' prized flower bed.

Ahh, I spent Christmas morning reliving my childhood... My best friend got Mario All Stars for SNES, and we spent a few hours playing Mario 3... This has nothing to do with the post. Just thought I'd share.

I suppose for Easter.. He will come up with another 8 bit gimmic called Crucifixion....

For fifteen dollars, I better get one of the dog's testicles too.

Welsh Corgie named Ein? Like Cowboy Bebop? Damn, the geek and holiday cheer (maybe some of that left over holiday eggnog I drank before work this morning, too.) in me is forcing a donation from me. Hmm, that does look like a mischievous little mutley though...

Cowboy Bebop kicks at least a dozen separate forms of ass!!!

re:#9 - Long time reader here... my first post. I love you Daisy! The first few times you got me, but now I look forward every day to the one newb who falls for your post. You're awesome. Merry Christmas.

I wouldn't feel too bad about the dog. Doc announced DAYS ago that we'd overdonated to the cause...he's been milking money out of forum members, too, and admitted that we'd covered the amount needed. Don't donate if you dont feel like it.

Nice!!! I would like to share with you the list of href="http://www.ranker.com/list/rock-christmas-albums/christmas-music" rel="dofollow">Christmas rock songs. Hope you will enjoy as much as I do….
