I've used both for years. My PC crashes more in one week than my Mac has in 5 years. I've never lost data with my mac, only with a PC. I would pay 10x as much to not have to deal with crap like that.

I used an iMac for the first time in my life overe the last 2 days, setting it up for my sister. I must say that it never crashed once, being on most of the time and once you get used to the transition of Windows to Mac it's pretty nice to use. Then again my WIndows XP does not crash anymore but how long has it taken to get to SP3?

I'm a graphic designer and was forced to use macs throughout school and worked at a computer store for two years, and not only do macs crash/freeze just as much as PC's but you wouldn't believe the ungodly number of people who have to return new macs because they are DOA. And Apple corporate is incredibly unrepentant-- we'd have to take the losses on broken comps because they wouldn't accept returns unless the thing was literally shattered in the box. Oh yeah, and usually PC crashes are at the fault of the user that's too cheap to buy a good graphics card.

I have both kinds of computers. The fact is they are equal. One shuts off your computer the other shuts off your application every 5 minutes. Neither is truly better. But if you have something in the back of your brain that is attracted to glowy things and/or apples then maybe you should go macintosh. But if you ever want to watch a dvd or movie on your computer again in the true colors they came out in I suggest windows. Macintosh destroys contrast/gamma/brightness.

Mac has been the only side slinging mud in this campaign. The PC side has been talking about itself and how it gets misrepresented by Mac. I wish that Mac would come up with a new ad campaign because this "PCs are stupid" thing is really old. I don't think insulting a computer type that many people are quite happy to use is the best way to gain support for your product.

The funny thing, if any of you are old enough to remember, is that years ago Apple promoted the Mac thusly: "Ok sure, PC's have LOTS more applications, but most of them suck, where EVERY Mac app is pure gold. So there's actually MORE software for the Mac."

Then it was: "Ok sure, there's no games for the Mac, but if you want to do REAL work, you have to use a Mac".

Then it was: "Ok sure, PC's are fine for WORK, but if you want to have fun (still without games), use a Mac".

Now It's: "Ok sure, PC's do everything you want, but Vista sucks, Vista Sucks, Vista Sucks.

Never mind the bagillions of people using Vista without any problems, Apple has NEVER had anything positive to say about itself, only smear campaigns against PC's.

I've never had a problem with vista and I've had it since they've released it. Maybe Mac wouldnt have to attack PCs if all the open source programmers weren't only on PC or IPhone.

I have a mac for work and a vista ultimate 64bit 8GB RAM 3.16ghz etc etc for gaming. I hate windows, i don't like the way it looks (though that is personal preference only) I don't like a lot of vista's functions because they are really not worth it. I love almost everything about mac, it does need a few little improvements, but people If you want to game ONLY get a gaming vista machine, if you want to do creative/constructive things get a mac. and it's true, you can do alot of the same things on windows that you can on mac, but i 100% assure you that things that run on both OS's will run better on mac, not being biased, that's just the way it is.

Windows XP Pro is the best, most compact, reliable, customisable and user-friendly OS that ever was made. Blue screen of death? At least its relaxing! Mac wheel of death? Most annoying thing to ever jam my monitor . Except that 15 second clip where she was just about to swallow three loads at once and my connection cut off.

Macs are for girls. I'm a graphic/web designer and never had a problem with PCs - if you're smart enough to know what the minimum requirements are to run Photoshop/Illustrator then you won't have ANY problem. At all. None.

I work in a company that does it all, graphics, video, web, advertising, etc. We have both Macs and PCs available to the employees. Guess what. 90% use PCs.

I hate these snobbish (typical) Mac users who say sh!t like, "Oh, sure you have photoshop on a PC, but I'm sure it can't do what PS on the Mac can do". Or, "I'm sure that stuff desinged on the Mac looks better".

Are you kidding me? If you honestly think all your creative juices come from the machine in front of you, you should be shot where you sit.

where the f*** did all these people come from? i run windows pro and windows xp and have never had a problem with it. never crashed once. i made sure that when i ordered my puter, i had tons of memory added on.

macs are for simpletons who can't figure out how to work a real computer, like a dumbed down version of windows. when you're accustomed to working your way around every windows program, it can get frustrating using a mac. we had nothing but macs in a lab i worked in. i cast a voodoo spell on the mac out of frustration. i eventually just saved everything on my jump drive and did all of my work from home to finish my report. mac can lick my wonderful asshole.

Anyhow, Vista was a little bit of a pain when it first came out, you had to get upgrades and a bunch of crap to go along with it. How to solve the problem? Don't get Vista...

Another problem was that new computers were being sold with just the minimum requirements to run Vista so obviously it would run slow and under too much pressure it would crash. But it really wasn't Vista's fault, it was the manufacturer's. Once again, how can you solve it? You could downgrade to XP, it would run smoother or you could pay up and upgrade your computer. This is why you should learn to put your computers together instead of buying it at a store in the first place...

Macs are really nice but for the price they run it's not worth it unless you need it for work or know what you are getting and how to use it properly... or unless you feel the need to spend $1500+ to get a box. That's just about what it would be to you since you probably wouldn't be able to use it to it's full potential (But hey they sure look cool, good job at being trendy...)

And I hate that in the commercial they refer to it as MAC VS PC. PC is a Personal Computer... your pc can run Windows, Linux AND Mac OS.

So please, stop calling one better than the other. It's about personal experiences and what you like best. They both have their advantages and problems. If your computer runs Vista and it still has that many problems then maybe it's because you are doing something wrong. If you have the option to buy a Mac and will actually put it to good use then go for it. Don't buy it because a commercial told you it's "fun and better" that's what advertising is supposed to do and you would be falling for it.

Oh please. Vista is a fine operating system. I've been using it on my work and home computers now for more than a year and I've had fewer problems with it than I've had with XP when it first came out.

"PC" is actually an IBM trademark. IBM computers are branded with PC, everyone else used to just use computer, PC clone or windows machine (which is not very accurate).

I currently own 2 pc's running vista, yes vista used to have bugs on release, yes all those problems have been solved, and yes i used a mac for 2 years through college to work on image ready, photoshop and premier and yes the mac was faster in rendering my work than my pc. however. it did crash often and even though i never had to restart, i just never was able to do anything more on them and theres only so many photo albums or websites one can make... sooo yeah..

I bought a MACBOOK 12 and a half month ago! Last week the disk broke! Of course I lost a weeks work. As the guarantee was expired I had to buy a replacement.
