Well this must be your lucky day. Not one but two delicious eye candy galleries for you today on Geekologie. First were the SDCC costumes, and now, handpainted Darth Vader helmets. The Vader Project , a "reimagining of the iconic Darth Vader helmet by some of today's hottest pop and underground artists", was recently on display at Star Wars Celebration Japan. A lot of them are pretty cool. Hit the jump to see of my favorites, along with several links to tons more. No need to thank me folks, just doing my job. Now somebody organize a Leia Project. I'm thinking about that golden bikini. And, guilty by association, boobs.

Some of them are indeed pretty cool, but other's look like they just stuck some random stuff on it and called it art.. but then so do most artists with 'normal' art pieces..

#8 it wasnt just one guy, it was one head per artist. they had this at celebration europe last year, the tatooine homestead one was bitchin

So I submitted this and no shout out Geekologie Writer. My beliefs are shaken to the core. Either way, I totally kicked myself when I found out I missed this. Not that i was in any of the exhibiting cities but I could have made an effort. Ah hell who am I kidding, I could have made empty promises and then drunk myself to sleep in a pool of tears..

If the STOP WARS helmet is meant to be not serious, then it's hilarious because those flowers look like they were puked onto it.
Also, look at that f***ing clown and tell me it's not smiling somehow under that big nose.

I agree. Some are cool as hell. However, others are less "reimagining of the iconic Darth Vader helmet" and more "painted random junk on a vader helmet".
