Aug 8 2008Eye Candy: Lightning Strike In Slow Motion

This is a video of lightning filmed in slow motion. It is wicked awesome and restored my faith in God.

UPDATE: Lost $5 on a lotto scratch-off. There is no God.

UPDATE: Got the prize I wanted in my Happy Meal. God loves me!

UPDATE: Wife came home. Definitely no God, at least not a merciful one.

First, I'm totally going to get first this time! Maybe my mom will love me now!

I'm so sorry, El Basto.

That is wicked cool.

That incredible, must be a very slow motion capture. For a split second you can see the face God lit with the lightning. He has a very menacing grin and some fudgesicle smudged on the side of his face. Look Closely.

Geekologie writer, will you marry me?

AWESOME! That's the coolest thing I've seen in a while. And let me tell you, the last coolest thing was also on Geekologie.

Kind of like the thing posted a while ago with the slow-motion artificial lighting: where they hammered a nail into glass with electrons (a current) running through it and it showed a permanent "lighting bolt."

FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing how you see even though the entirety is just a split second - and then slowed down, you can still see even still a part where it is not possible to see without blinking your eye and missing out on it! Truly only a divine being could have made something like that!

FIRST!!!!

....

What?

Yeah, a divine being..or 9999999999999.99% more likely, a really awesome natural part of the weather on an increasingly unstable planet.

2012 end of the world y'all!

Holy f***ing shit!

@ Buddy "Tough" Love: so you believe that ancient Mayans were able to predict the end of the world (and told us about it by ending one of their MANY calendars), but you don't believe in God?

i think he was joking
