Jul 22 2008MacBook Touch Hitting Streets In October?

There have been rumors flying that a MacBook touch could be hitting the market as early as October. Allegedly these rumors are substantiated too, as they came from a MacDailyNews source that broke the wireless iTunes story early as well.

Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion's haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at "low" price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick shit. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest.

Okay, I've heard enough. Admittedly, I was believing it at first, but now I can tell it's is a lie. How? Trusted sources don't say "This is some sick shit." That's like a back alley plastic surgeon promising you "the sweetest f***in' knockers this eye ever saw" while tapping his eyepatch and waving a machete. Sure you want to believe it, but you also want to know why the guy is working out the back of an Italian restaurant.

That said, I'm sure it's true.

Rumor: MacBook touch Coming in October

Thanks Dan, now the girlfriend is gonna hound me for one.

Giant iphone?

Cool, and yet... I'm still perfectly happy with my 2-year-old Gateway tablet.

I love the Mad TV episode where they had "Steve Jobs" talk about the "iRack" and the "iRan" (look up iRack on youtube). Ballsy, and great.

This thing, eh...apple keeps coming out with this stuff and it's alright. I still like building my own computers.

i dont see how this will make for good use?

i feel like your hand will get tired having to reach up and down, from keyboard to screen.

have you noticed that out computer mouse and keyboard are all level! maybe thats for a reason. plus they are going to ask for alot of cash for this little toy so think twice

@ SIRIUS- the touchscreen is meant to make it easier to navigate your computer so i doubt it would be necessary to touch the screen for any basic functions. so you should only worry about your hand getting tired if you wanna play a digital piano all day or enlarge and rotate pictures with your fingers.

and as far as "have you noticed that out computer mouse and keyboard are all level! maybe thats for a reason"
computer, mouse, keyboard, etc., all recently created and still have a LOT of room for improvement/modifications. i'm sure theres "a reason" for all manufactured mods.

is this gonna use the multi touch screen technology by mr wong or hong , whatever that clever guy's name is (sorry with all due respect). tht was sick stuff.

its that time of the day. time to go home baby. thanks for the sanity geekologie.

Without giving too much away so that my coworkers murder me for blabbing, but get ready for the Work Table, not saying who it's from in case I get in trouble. But basically what you see with the workbook, on a larger scale, desktop, so you can have multiple files open and not over lap. but it's all touch and drag, flip around, open, throw to the side....all with touching the screen, no more mouse. see a file, put your finger on it, drag it out, double click it to open, file appears like a piece of 8x10 sized paper on your desk, put finger on bottom of page and swipe left or right to turn pages.. The makers of Windex need to get on top of marketing Work Table Surface Cleaner, this product should be coming out late 2009, early 2010.

Ummm... HP already has a touchscreen computer... and my samsung instinct already has 3g AND hactic feedback... hmm... apple's not leading the arms race anymore?

Erm... that's *haptic* feedback...

i'd like to rather have an iphone shuffle; no screen and calls random people.
f*** yeah.

Wow. If they've already got haptic feedback working, I'll be absolutely amazed. I hope this is true.

ZOMG iPhone Random. I want one. Two. Where can I pre-order? plzplzplz

They should make CRT-model touchscreens. Having a 50lb monitor sitting on your lap while you get the screen filthy with Cheeto-stained fingers would make anyone happy.

That doesn't make any sense. First, I highly doubt the will include a Superdrive (the Air does have one either). And how can it be both a Full OS X and also AppStore compatible? That also doesn't make any sense. I don't believe it.

@ guate6

Neither Ballsy nor great. MadTV has been unfunny and irrelevant since it's inception. That show, and the sketch you mention specifically, is full of such bland, base obvious humor that you can see it coming a mile down the road.

yeah mad tv is pretty lame...i'd have to be baked out of your skull to actually watch that show....... but this computer looks sexy..are you sure it dosnt come with a mouse or keyboard though? i saw one at staples that was a touch (not mac some other brand) and it had the option of the mouse and keyboard...

If you believe this you are retarded. Like, you need a helmet and shouldn't be allowed outside unsupervised. The description is barely coherent, much less a description of features that make any sense together.

@ #9
You mean Microsoft Surface:

If so, it's rather old news..

blah blah blah wrong

I really appreciate your help.Thank you very much!

Lol at this being the iPad.
