That guy was a good mile from that tornado. I take it that Rob_Roy isn't from somewhere that regularly has tornado's. Siren's go off here at least 15 times a year, and we're under a tornado warning at least maybe 30 times. Over my entire life span, I've only been IN one tornado which jumped my school, and only seen one other one.

That photo might even pre-date Photoshop, and it definitely pre-dates widespread photo-faking. I used to work on textbooks, and it's a stock image we used over and over again. I believe it's actually a waterspout, which is why the tornado is so smooth-white and ghostly.

i was sucked into a tornado once, and ironically enough whilst RIDING on a bolt of lightning ...it'll sure put a damper on your weekend that's for sure

I really agree with what Enirfark said about the waterspout stuff. I have been in a lot of twisters and hurricans and I have never seen lightning during any of them. The person just took a picture while a waterspout looked enough like a tornado and took another picture of a streak of lightning. Then simply put them together.
