Dec 31 2008 Eff 2008, Bring On 2009: Happy New Year!

new-years.jpg

Well folks, we survived another year. Amazing, I know. It's been one hell of a time, and I have every reason to believe 2009 is going to rock the track pants and Members Only jacket off 2008.

Happy New Year! See you in 2020! And by 2020 I mean after my Lasik surgery. HIYO!

Dec 31 2008 All Of Crappy 2008 In A Mere 40 Seconds

This is a time-lapse video made by Eirik Solheim of the year 2008. As you can see, it was an eventful year. The trees started off naked, put on their sexy spring and summer dresses, then stripped down again in the fall. And I imagine there was a botanical orgy of immeasurable proportions in there somewhere as well. You know -- trees humping trees, a couple bushes trying to get in on the action, maybe a lone deer banging a stump. But maybe that shit doesn't really happen the way I imagine -- how the hell should I know, I'm not a freaking Hobbit!

Oct 15 2008 More Brains!: A Zombie Pinup Calendar

zombie-1.jpg

My Zombie Pinup ($20) is a 2009 calendar that features scantily clad, brain-eating zombie ladies. I want one. It'd look great hanging in the garage next to my toolbox. Because I'm a man, damnit. A man that loves undead women. And power tools. But seriously, should I get a mauve or periwinkle duvet for the bed in the guest room? I don't want it to clash with the window treatments.

Hit the jump for a few more of the pictures, and a link to the buy site.

Aug 12 2008 OMG, I Made It: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

happy-birthday.jpg

Many people think Geekologie is written by a computer preprogrammed with bad jokes or a bunch of fairies strung out on magic dust. Well, that isn't entirely true. You see, I came out of a vagina just like many of you did -- but haven't seen one since. Ladies, that was a birthday present hint. So yeah, I'm a year older today. But that's not gonna stop me from Geeking the ologie for all you lovely people! No way. In fact, I have a very special birthday surprise coming up in a few posts, which you will most certainly find worth celebrating. Also, seeing how my girlfriend will clearly forget today's significance, I was wondering if one of you could, I dunno, maybe pick up an ice cream cake?

Jul 9 2008 I Want: Bubble Wrap Calendar Is Popsome

pop-calendar.jpg

The Bubble Calendar is a poster-sized calendar with a bubble to pop every day. They're available in vertical and horizontal models and measure 48" x 17.5" (or 17.5" x 48"!). The printed on paper version will set you back $30, but if you want it on a high quality plastic backing you'll have to pop $50. I think I want one, the only problem is I have no self control. The entire calendar would probably last a week. Now a condom calendar -- that'd last a while. And not because I live dangerously, but because I've never seen a vagina. Unless that blurry one I think I saw on the scrambled porno channel counts. Which, let's be honest, totally should. Haha, virgin no more!

Thanks Brendan, I rented a Moon Bounce for my party this weekend if you want to come over and try to pop it.

Dec 20 2007 Japan's 2007 Robot Of The Year Goes To...

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) named the year's best robots, and first place went to a two-armed robot made by Fanuc that's equipped with a visual tracking system and works in food and drug manufacturing lines. That video above is of the quick bastard in action. When accepting his "Robot of the Year" award the two armed robot stated "I just do my job, you know. I really wish I could fight, fly, and had a sweet freaking laser cannon on one arm, because that would be bad-ass. Hell, with that kind of equipment I'd be up to my visual tracking system in robotic puss. But nooo, I'm stuck sorting pills in a damn factory. This gig is lame. Now get out of here before I jam this trophy up your ass."
