May 21 2009 This Is The Awesomest Hat Ever Made
And if you could incorporate a beer helmet into it, it would be awesomest hat ever possible to make.
I made this hat for my son - he wanted a mean shark. I saw the dead fish hat pattern and loved the idea - I just varied the pattern quite a lot to make different looking species. And felted it so it looks like it jumped out of the water and landed on his head...
I basically cast 90 stitches onto a size 9 circular needle and winged it from there. I used Patons wool and it felted great.
Okay I have absolutely no idea what that means because the only thing I've ever stitched is my head to the carpet, but if somebody out there could make me one that would be just about the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Well, besides BYOB night at the strip club. Superficial Writer -- out of my cooler!

Thanks to Towee Monster and Yopoleo, who have both almost been victims of shark attacks but punched the guys before they got hold of their underwear. Good looking, guys.
Feb 23 2009 You Need Help: Bella's Womb From Twilight

I never read or saw Twlight because I'm a pseudo-adult man with almost 1/2 my dignity intact (I saw Mamma Mia in the theater). To my credit though, I have seen Blade several times. Anway, some Twi-hard -- wait, they're actually calling themselves that? Yes, they are. Wow, I need to sit down for a minute. Whoa, office chair -- bad idea. Floor it is.
Oh yes, one creative (and creepy) Twilight fan actually took the time to felt together Bella's womb, complete with -- wait for it -- an actual felted mutant fetus inside! Who in their right mind does stuff like this? Seriously, who wakes up one day and says, "Ya know, I think I want to spend the next week or so recreating what Bella's womb would look like with a mutant fetus inside, and then maybe share it with fans on the internet ... because they'll of course think I'm, like, completely normal and stuff."
Why do I get the feeling whoever made this also put up a Craigslist ad asking for a vampire to impregnate her? I swear, what the hell's the matter with people? That said, I am 100% vampire. Baby, I will do you like it's 1499 and not hesitate one bite to put a sun-fearing baby in that ass. Just sayin, I pick and eat my own scabs.
Fan Made: Bella's Womb from 'Twilight' (aka Creepiest 'Fan Made' Ever) [cinematical]
Thanks to Jules, who doesn't want a vampire baby, just a little werewolf.
Sep 29 2008 eBay: Needle Felted iPhone For Sale

Geekologie reader Chris went and made a wool iPhone and put it up for sale on eBay to see what sort of reception (!) it would get.
This auction is for a hand made (by me) needle-felted iPhone toy/art. Needle-felting has been a hobby of mine for over a year now and I decided to offer this one of a kind toy I made this week. This wool iPhone measures 4 3/4" X 2 3/4" and 0.5" thick. Made with great quality wool. This "toy" is not intended for children or pets. It is packaged in a bag with a Squid Wool card.
Bidding starts at $25 with $5 shipping. I'm pretty damn tempted to make a bid, but sadly, I've been banned from eBay. Some policy about not selling prescription drugs you found in your roommate's medicine cabinet.
Hit the jump for a few more pictures and a link to the auction.
Jul 31 2008 Felt Zelda Looks Sharp, I May Have To Buy

Etsy seller wedgered2 has made a handsome Link out of felt. And seeing as how I love everything Zelda, here he is. He is available for purchase at the bargain price of $75.
Link is a needle-felted soft sculpture made of wool on wire, so he is posable, but struggles to stand unassisted (I have some tips for the buyer if they wish to display him). His Accessories are sculpted from Polymer clay and he is able to hold them in his hand or carry the shield or sword on his back.
And, get this -- this is the best part -- the tip was actually sent to me by the maker, who had this to say:
"I am sending you this link to Zelda-related project I just finished. This little project caused me hours of headache which I only started because of the amigurumi Link you wrote of last week."
ZOMG! Not only did a Geekologie post inspire somebody to make something, but it caused hours of headache! I have powers! But not invisibility, because that jogger totally just saw my package.
Hit the jump for several more pictures of him.

Dec 27 2007 Suit Washes Clean In The Shower, Hot Damn!

The Konaka Shower Clean Suit is a business suit that washes clean in the shower. It then takes two hours to hang dry (no ironing) and it's ready to wear again. The incredible innovation behind the suit comes from Australian Wool Innovation Limited, a group who focuses their efforts on the application of new technology to wool products. The clothing line is dropping in February for both men and women, and suits will go for $260 - $492. Now I hate to divulge the secret behind the suit, but I'll give you a hint as to how it works -- it's a black garbage bag that looks like a suit. There, the cat's out of the bag. I went and did it didn't I? I sure did. I am such a naughty boy. Which kind of explains the lack of presents from Santa this year. Apparently he didn't read my last letter. I swear I'm starting to hate that fat bastard.

Aug 30 2007 Pac Man Rug Is Cool

Our Children's Gorilla, perhaps the worst named, and most expensive store for children, is selling this ultra sweet Pac Man rug. It measures about 7' x 10', and is allegedly one of only two in existence, made from 100% wool in beautiful Portugal. The price though, at $1,800 is, well, a lot of money for a video game themed rug. My bearskin rug didn't even cost that, I just had to wrestle that bastard to the ground and skin him with my teeth. Now he resides in front of the fireplace, where he's seen more than his fair share of toothless hookers I've picked up at the bus station.
