Jun 2 2009 XBox's Project Natal: You ARE The Controller

XBox announced Project Natal at E3 yesterday and, hooray. Basically it's a video camera capable of full-body tracking so that you can punch and kick and break your television to your heart's content. This is a video of the possibilities. Also, there's another video after the jump that introduces Milo, which appears to be some kind of pedo-program that makes it easier to troll the interweb for 12-year old boys. Because, let's face it, AOL chatrooms are beat, yo.

Hit the jump for the other video that made no sense and not just because I stopped paying attention and went to heat my burrito (ladies?) after thirty seconds.

Sep 9 2008 Drawing On Wheels: The Sharpie Lamborghini

sharpie-1.jpg

We've seen all kinds of exotic cars here on Geekologie. We've seen a golden Porche, Burberry barfwagon, a wooden supercar, chrome Lamborghini, DIY Lamborghini, a knit Ferrari, and even a Maserati covered in broken glass. And now, for your viewing pleasure, a Sharpie Lamborghini. It's been around for about a year so you may have seen it already. And if so, I applaud your internetellect. You can buy me a drink at Boozefest 2008 (more details to come). Anyway, this is a Lamborghini covered in Sharpie drawings. The car was penned by Prestige Lamborghini of Miami and took two weeks to create and cover with a clear coat. So what do you think? Like it? Love it? Want to drive it off a cliff? I kind of like it, and, as a guy who's no stranger to waking up with a giant Sharpied penis on his face, I need new friends.

Hit the jump for several more pictures and the link to a high-res gallery.

May 12 2008 Is This What A Real Sonic Would Look Like?

real-sonic.jpg

From the same artist that brought us the realistic Bowser painting, comes this one of Sonic The Hedgehog. He even included a little pixelated version of what a more realisitc hedgehog would have looked like in game.

The biggest challenge about this one was, that the original Sonic looks everything but realistic. He is so stylized, that it's hard to tell if he is a hedgehog at all. This made it hard to find a middle course between the initial design and the look of a real hedgehog.

In the end I decided to give him a color-pattern that resembles a West European Hedgehog but facial proportions that stick to Sonic himself. His white gloves and the red shoes he kept as another link to the original, but the shoes underwent a little redesign. In addition his body looks like that of a runner, making it more believable that he can run at such high speeds.

So, what do you think? Good, bad, or ugly? I can't really judge since I was caught soliciting my vote in return for "inappropriate" favors during a bikini contest. So yeah, banned from judging.
