Wordle make pretty little word cloud pictures with the text or URL you provide.

The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Nothing super special, but Geekologie loyalist Tangelax was kind enough to make one out of a bunch of recent Geekologie articles. As you can see, it's depressing.

Wordle

Thanks to Tangelax, who once made a word cloud rain letters simply by doing a little dance. Amazing!

Jan 12 2009 It's So Haaaaard To Say Goodbyeeeee To Yesterdaaaaaay: The Shredder Calendar

shredder-calendar-1.jpg

The Chrono-Shredder is a wall calendar designed by Susanna Hertrich that shreds the days as they pass. It takes a full 24-hours to shred a date, but only 10 minutes to run a dead hooker through a wood-chipper.

The Chrono-Shredder is a device that reminds us of the preciousness of our lifetime. It represents the passing of time by shredding the days of the year - printed on a paper roll - at a slow constant rate. To shred one day takes 24 hours. There is no "off"-button. As the seconds pass by, the tattered remains of the past pile up under the device...

Neat. Holler at 'ol Susanna (who cries for no one) if you can help manufacture them. Because I need one in a bad way -- I never have any idea what day it is. All I know is we've got an election coming up -- and then Jesus' birthday! WOOT!

Hit the jump for a picture of the mess the calendar makes.

Aug 22 2008 Artistic Photo Gallery Of Star Trek And Star Wars Fans Dressed Up As Characters

costume-1.jpg

This is an artsy photo gallery by photographer Steve Schofield containing a ton of people dressed up as Star Wars and Star Trek characters. And, because it's Friday and I've already started drinking, I threw in a Ninja Turtle for good measure. Remember the sexy Comic-Con and Princess Leia galleries? Well this is the opposite of those. If those galleries were the hot girl in high school you always had a crush on, this is your ugly little sister. But it's definitely still worth a view, the photos are incredibly well done. I really love the feelings they evoke. It's almost like you ARE that person all dressed up in your costume, posing for the camera, and thinking, "what the f*** have I gotten myself into?"

Hit the jump for the monster gallery. It really is awesome.
