Apr 8 2008 Nap At Work With The Nappak Sleeping Cube

naptime-1.jpg

If there's one thing I hate about going to work, it's the lack of comfortable places to sleep during my afternoon siesta. Enter the Nappak Sleeping Cube. It's an inflatable cubby where you can stretch out and doze to your heart's content. Not exactly a cube, but that's okay. While it certainly is better than napping face down on your keyboard, I have a few other suggestions for great places to sleep at work (based on several years experience).

The trunk of your car
Benefits: Cozy, dark, can add pillows and blankets.
Drawbacks: Getting locked inside. Being rear ended mid-nap.

Bathroom stall

Benefits: Easily accessible, private, can urinate as you nap.
Drawbacks: Gas, bathroom noises, legs falling asleep.

Your boss's desk, with his secretary.
Benefits: Lockable door, someone to spoon, potential to get some (or at least cop a feel).
Drawbacks: Possible sexual harassment case and/or disease. Boss kicking in the door, yelling at you. Termination.

A couple more pictures after the jump.

Feb 11 2008 Ferrari Pedal Car Looks Fast, Probably Isn't

ferrari-playcar.jpg

Berg Toys will be selling these Ferrari FXX inspired pedal cars starting next month. Standard models will go for $730, and Exclusive models will fetch a whopping $2,200 (more than my real car).

It’s got a seven speed transmission, an on-board computer, disc brakes and even semi-slick racing tires with Enzo inspired hubcaps. The exclusive version even has a racing-style bucket seat with a four point harness, a leather steering wheel and an aero kit...

Cool, but I'm going to hold out for the Super Executive model that I just wrote them and told them they should make. It costs $3,000 and comes with a live hooker in the trunk. Of course this thing doesn't have a trunk so you actually have to tow her behind in a Radio Flyer.

Aug 16 2007 Connectable Coffee Mugs

connect-mugs.jpg

Designer Jonathan Aspinall has developed coffee mugs that can be linked together to form a six mug chain that can (allegedly) be easily carried. Each mug has a plus shaped male connection on one side, and matching female on the other. Now I don't know about you, but if I was sporting these around the office one morning, I imagine they would be in a coworker's trunk by mid-afternoon. I'm sticking to my trusty urine sample cup. People don't even come into the cubicle, let alone think about stealing my mug.
