Oct 13 2008 Sony Unveils Ultra-Thin 40" LCD Television
The Sony Bravia ZX1 is not only 9.9mm thin, but "40% more efficient per panel inch compared to conventional flat panel technology" and allegedly uses less power than a light bulb. I'm not sure what kind of lightbulb, but probably not the 5-watt nightlight in the bathroom I use to prevent pissing on the floor. You know, I was just thinking the other day, "self, this LCD flat panel just isn't thin enough -- I really need something in the 9-10mm range." Thanks Sony, I'll take a 40". $6,055? No prob....wait, problem. Huge freaking problem.

Sep 10 2008 Apple Announces New iPod Nano, Whee!
If you haven't heard you probably live in a bomb shelter like we all should be, but Apple announced a new generation of iPod nanos yesterday at their "Let's Rock Out With Our Mac Loving Cocks Out" event in San Francisco. The new nano is thinner, curvier, and comes in a bunch of different colors, as well as 8GB and 16GB capacities. It also has an accelerometer so you can shake it to shuffle your songs and turn it sideways for a wide-screen experience. The device has the new 'Genius' feature as well, meaning it can create playlists by finding songs in your library that go well together. Neato. 8GB's are $150, 16GB's are $200, and I'll throw in some hand action for another $10. Toothless smiles are always free.

Jun 13 2008 Smera Electric Car Concept Is Mad Skinny
The Lumeneo Smera is an electric car concept that's 8 feet long but only 31 inches wide (insert something about your penis here). It can reach 80 MPH and gets about 93 miles to a charge. Not too shabby.
Both of the front wheels on the Smera have their own 20hp electric motor which have a life expectancy of around 200,000 km. Those electric motors, as well as the rest of the vehicle, are all powered by a 144 volt lithium ion battery which weighs in at 180lbs.
The company is hoping to garner enough interest in the project to have models available for sale by the Paris Motor Show in October. Unfortunately, they'll be going for $30,000 - $46,000 and disintegrate if you get sideswiped, leaving you Smera'd (!) all over the road. HAHA! Okay, one nut punch, I deserve it.
Jan 15 2008 MacWorld 2008, Introducing The MacBook Air
The new MacBook Air isn't actually invisible like I first suspected. Nor does it float. It's just way thin and has no optical drive. The Air rocks a 13.3" screen, is 0.76 inches at the thickest, weighs 3 pounds, and features a multi-touch trackpad. It comes with an ultrathin 80GB hard drive, but you've got the option for a 64GB solid-state drive if you prefer yours with no moving parts. Part of the Air's appeal is its incredible wireless diversity. You can install software on the machine by "borrowing" the disk drive of another computer and having it send the data to the Air. You can also transfer files wirelessly from another computer or the new Time Capsule external HD/Wi-Fi station. The 1.6GHz with 80GB standard hard drive starts at $1,800. The 1.8GHz with 64GB solid-state hard drive starts at $3,100. Both models begin shipping in two weeks and neither has a removable battery.
I apologize for not being able to post this earlier, but I was kicked out of MacWorld for "being a complete dick" and "peeing on the floor", both of which I contest. While I did punch that overzealous fanboy (see picture), it was because the little bastard kept stepping on my new shoes (that and his haircut). And as for the public urination charge -- that was just the ziplock of bourbon I had taped to my leg leaking. Long story short: I made out with two female cops, jumped out of a speeding police car, caught the last wild unicorn with my bare hands, flew it across the border to Mexico, sold the unicorn for a bottle of spanish fly and admission to a donkey show, and now I'm in a bar drinking cheap tequila and blogging. Oct 3 2007 New Sony Display Is Thinner Than Hell
Sony had their new XEL-1 OLED TV on display recently at CEATEC, a Japanese consumer electronics show. Now I'm not one to jump to conclusions or anything, but based on the photographic evidence, I'm tempted to say this thing is thin. It boasts a 3mm depth, 1 million:1 contrast ratio, and costs $1,700 (!!) for an 11-incher. Now I know what you're thinking. Here comes a 3mm wide, 11 inch long dong joke. Well I have news for you folks. I'm too mature for that. So instead I'm just going to say that while thin may be in, fat is where it's at. CRTs forever.

Aug 14 2007 Sony Develops Bendable Display
Sony has released video of a 2.5-inch display that you can bend without breaking (Note: do not attempt with your LCD). The picture quality looks bearable and I'm excited about getting my hands on one. Sony is still trying to work out kinks in the cost of production, so they're probably going to be out of my allowance's price range for awhile. Sony's thin film transistor and electroluminescent technologies make the display possible, and at only 0.3-mm thick, I think we can all agree that this television is damn near pencil thin.
