Nov 19 2009 Modern Warfare 2 Crybaby's Music Video

NOTE: Video slightly NSFW due to adult language from a blimey 14-year old.

You ever wonder what else is going on in the world of a kid who will cry and punch the wall about a video game not living up to his expectations? Apparently a budding music career. And by budding I mean rotting. On the vine. You will never sell those tomatoes! Still, I did find myself kind of bobbing my head from 1:15 - 1:30 (the best part, plus I'm so high I feel like I'm typing with claws). But don't say his name -- he'll knock you out! Probably with rotten-tooth breath. BRING IT NANCY!

GuitarJono1170's Youtube Channel (with a ton of other crappy videos)

Thanks to Matt, who knifed this kid in Modern Warfare 2 and had him crying for days.

Nov 15 2009 Kid Sings Windows 7 Song At Talent Show

This is a video of fifth-grader Will Smith (of Fresh Prince fame) singing 'Windows 7 Rising', a song about the operating system sung to the tune of CCR's 'Bad Moon Rising', at what I assume is a school-sponsored talent show. He's pretty skilled and undoubtedly left the stage that night with a number of 8th grader's hearts in his jacket pocket. Which sadly isn't many BECAUSE THEY DON'T MAKE THOSE SUIT POCKETS FUNCTIONAL. And you know why? Government conspiracy. Same reason you're not allowed to drink at the DMV EVEN THOUGH YOUR MOM DROVE YOU.

Nov 3 2009 The One And Only Christopher Walken Performing Lady GaGa's 'Poker Face'

This is a video of Christopher Walken reading Lady Gaga's song 'Poker Face' on the BBC's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. Trust me, it's every bit as awesome as it sounds. Plus some. MULTIPLIED BY MORE. And then divided by a fraction less than 1.

Oct 22 2009 Impressive: Ghostbusters Theme Multi-Track

This is a video of a curly haired (and sometimes shirtless) Matt Mulholland performing the Ghostbusters theme song by combining 14 separate tracks of him making noises. Now I know we've already seen examples of multi-tracking before, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, know what I'm saying? I'm saying there was blood on the mattress and they wouldn't give me a discount. Pay me, Marriott.

Oct 15 2009 *Sniff* A Street Fighter 4 Love Song

This is a Street Fighter love song. It made me sad, especially after reading about missing balloon boy (who better just be hiding under a neighbor's porch). Anyway, it may not be as good as the Mario Kart love song, but it still got to me. And by got to me I mean I wept like a baby chopped down a sequoia with my bare hands and had sex with ten alligators. Excuse me, crocodiles. And there were twelve.

Sep 15 2009 'Today Was A Good Day': The Flow Chart

today-was-a-good-day-1.jpg

If there's two things I learned to love in college it's flow charts and communal showering. And this is by far one of the awesomest flow charts I've ever seen. It's right up there with the What Should I Eat? chart. Click HERE to see the flow chart in its entirety, which outlines all of Ice Cube's iconic 'Today Was A Good Day'. Now I know what you're thinking: how the hell can you even think about starting a good day with a hogless breakfast? Because one time I only had dry white toast and a poached egg and then got hit by the school bus. Coincidence?

Hit the jump to watch the music video and follow along with the chart.

Sep 14 2009 Bacon Is Good For Me: The Remix

This is Sir Eat A Lot's remix of his instant classic 'Bacon Is Good For Me', now with more repetition. Now I'm not saying this song makes me want to adopt the little chubs and call him my own, but it totally does. Say it again, little man! "Bacon is good for me". Haha, here -- have another Beggin' Strip (he doesn't know the difference).

Thanks to Erica, whose hit 'Geekologie Is Good For Me' went like triple plutonium.

Aug 28 2009 Kitty Noises, Autotune Used To Make Song

This is song made using videos of kitty sounds that have been auto-tuned (think Kanye West, but with less bitching and whining) to produce some funky fresh beats. Yes, I am hip to your jive. I'm a cool cat, you dig? I jest, I am a warm dog. And speaking of which -- in college I lived in a house with five other guys, and we had this one roommate who would always boil hotdogs in the same pot of water and then lid the pot and save the water for next time. Dude got mad pissed if you even joked about touched his hotdog water. And that pot would sit there on the stove for sometimes a week between boilings. He was convinced it gave each subsequent batch of dogs more flavor. We were convinced it gave us dysentery.

Thanks to Tom and Edd, who once made a song with their voices synthesized to sound like Chipmunks but then deleted it when they realized that shit's not cool.

Aug 11 2009 I Almost Cried: The Ballad Of G.I. Joe

This is a song and music video entitled 'The Ballad of G.I. Joe', which shows what the G.I. Joe characters do in their spare time, as portrayed by a bunch of celebrities. Cast list:

Scarlett - Julianne Moore

Zartan - Billy Crudup
Snowjob - Zach Galifianakis
Baroness - Olivia Wilde
Lady Jaye - Alexis Bledel
Dr. Mindbender - Tony Hale
Duke - Henry Rollins
Gung-Ho - Chuck Liddell
Shipwreck - Alan Tudyk
Destro - Vinnie Jones
Doc - Laz Alonso
Sargent Slaughter as himself

Now, it's no pork chop sandwiches, but I did hear it was better than the new movie. Which I wouldn't know because I went to a special screening of Iron Man 2. IT PAYS TO BE THE GEEKOLOGIE WRITER, SUCKERS! (I sat at home all weekend and wept into my dog)

Jul 2 2009 Stupid Robots Can't Even Sing Happy Birthday

In honor of Canada Day yesterday and the 4th on Saturday, this is a video of three Wiffle-ball headed robots trying to sing happy birthday and failing so hard I almost felt bad. Almost. Just watch and listen. Did you hear that? It sounded like the one on the left was singing "die die die". IT NEARS!

Jun 19 2009 Music Downloader Fined $80,000 Per Song

dont copy that floppy.jpg

Jammie Thomas-Rasset, the lady in the high profile illegal music downloading story that was in the news a while back, just had her second federal trial and has been charged with infringing 24 copyrights (for the 24 songs she downloaded). She's to pay $80,000 per song, a total of $1.92 million. Shiiiiiiiiiit.

As for Thomas-Rasset, she appeared shaken by the verdict but didn't blame the jury. "They did their job," she said, "I'm not going to hold it against them." She added, though, that the recording industry would never collect the money. "Good luck trying to get it from me... it's like squeezing blood from a turnip."

The recording industry lawyers, though clearly pleased, had no desire to showboat this one. The massive damage award, which increased from $9,250 per song in the first trial to $80,000, might sounds like a "win," but will probably stoke grassroots anger against the industry's campaign... if the music business tries to collect. There are hints that it might not.

Hey, I want to download stuff and not have to pay for it. Now, let's see what she got:

  1. Vanessa Williams - Save the best for last
  2. Sheryl Crow - Run baby run
  3. Reba McEntire - One honest heart
  4. Janet Jackson - let's wait awhile
  5. Guns n Roses - Welcome to the jungle
  6. Guns n Roses - November rain
  7. Def Leppard - Pour some sugar on me
  8. Bryan Adams - Somebody
  9. Aerosmnith - Cryin
  10. Linkin Park - One step closer
  11. Green Day - Basket case
  12. Goo Goo Dolls - iris
  13. No Doubt - Hella Good
  14. No Doubt - Different people
  15. No Doubt - Bathwater
  16. Sarah McLaughlan - Building a mystery
  17. Sarah McLaughlan - Possession
  18. Gloria Estefan - Rhythm is gonna get you
  19. Gloria Estefan - Here and we are
  20. Gloria Estefan - Coming out of the dark
  21. Journey - Faithfully
  22. Journey - Don't stop believin
  23. Destiny's Child - Bills, bills, bills
  24. Richard Marx - Now and for ever

Wow, worst $2 million playlist EVER.

Jun 17 2009 For The Ladies: Guys Dancing To Zelda Song

This is a video of three guys dryhumping the air out of a basement to the Song of Storms from the Zelda series. I wasn't going to post it, but then I realized that I hadn't done anything for you ladies out there in awhile. Well, besides call late at night and then hang up when you answer. Kidding, that wasn't me (yes it was).

May 24 2009 NES Rap: 99 Lives And A Power Glove

This is a rap about playing oldschool NES games called The Konami Code (99 Lives And A Power Glove). It was made by the same folks that brought us Robot Party song and is pretty fresh. Not as fresh as my breakfast mind you, but that's because I just bought chickens. *squeezing chicken* EGGS, DAMN YOU, EGGGGGGGS! *chicken explodes* Okay, that might have been a rooster.

May 4 2009 Cool: Sampling Youtube To Make New Songs

ThruYou is a project by Kutiman that involves sampling videos on Youtube to create all new music. The results are pretty impressive. In Kutiman's own words:

What you are about to see is a mix of unrelated Youtube videos/clips editing together to create ThruYou. In other words - what you see is what you hear.

This is the first one of seven different tracks, so if you like it go check out the others. And if you don't, well, no one cares. But don't let that stop you from leaving a Geekologie comment complaining about it. We'll all pretend to care and/or believe you could do better, won't we guys? Guys? Ha, I guess we won't. Suck it!

May 4 2009 These Beats Are Fresh!: Slap Chop Remix

This is music-video remix of Vince "bitch, that's my tongue" Shlomi's famous Slap Chop commercial. It drove me crazy and I was this close to jamming a butter knife into a wall outlet. But, I must admit, whoever made it did do a good editing job. So, whoever you are, my hat's off to you. But my pants -- well, I'm saving those for you, ma'am.*

Apr 17 2009 Super Mario Theme Played On Laser Cutter

This is the Super Mario Bros. theme being played using the step motors of a laser cutter. It sounds just like you think it would (read: PEWLESS). Still, it's kinda cool. Not as cool as a cold one, but *glug glug glug* my God that's delicious. Now, what were we just talking about? Right, you getting me another beer. I vote yay.

Apr 13 2009 Awh Man, I Want To Be Like A Boss

NOTE: VIDEO IS CLEAN VERSION. UNCENSORED ONE AFTER THE JUMP.

If you haven't seen this already it's the latest video from The Lonely Island's album Incredibad. This particular ditty is called 'Like A Boss' and it's all about a normal day in a boss's life. It's pretty much what I do everyday too, except I'm not responsible for managing anybody. I can barely manage my own penis! Now where is that guy?

Make sure your mother isn't standing behind you and then hit it for the dirty version!

Apr 5 2009 Mega Man 2: From Start To Finish In Song

NOTE: Video is NSFW due to language.

This is a song about beating all the bosses in Mega Man 2 and winning the game. It's long though, so the best way to view it is to skip around unless you really have seven minutes to kill. Also, it's NSFW because they say lots of bad words. But that's okay, because it's Sunday and you're not at work are you? No, you're in church on your Blackberry. So, fire away champ -- it's what Jesus would do.*

*This claim has not been approved by the Vatican, or even a local pastor. In fact, I haven't run it by anyone. Except the dog, who just looked at me quizzically before going back to licking herself. Which, at least in my eyes, is a total yes.
