Oct 2 2009 Make Your Own Mario Piranha Plant Scarf

This is a Piranha Plant scarf made by craftster user enemyairship. Careful wearing one though, it might nip at your genitals!
Here's another Mario related project of mine...actually I just noticed that the only projects I've posted here are Mario inspired! I saw a project similar to this one on Ravelry and just had to have a go at it.
This is a Piranha Plant scarf that I made for my bf's younger sister. She's either a Junior or Senior in high school.
If you want to try knitting your own she has the pattern explained in the thread(!). I thought it was taking a stab at, but I'm no good with needles. I ended up mainlining a whole ball of yarn!

Jul 30 2008 Sure, Why Not: Trees As Artists

British artist Tim Knowles ties markers and brushes to tree limbs and makes the helpless botanical bastards create art.
In collaboration with the wind and local weather conditions, calligraphic gestures and automatic drawing readings are recorded on paper. The amazing thing about Knowles' Tree Drawings is the unmistakable signatures that each drawing reveals as an indication of the unique characteristics and even genus/species of a specific tree.
Interesting. Ooooh, nice work Mr. Pine, another, um, turd. While I find the actual art of questionable merit (my maple could do so much better), I do love the photos of the trees painting. Regardless of my personal feelings, I do hope this style of art sells. Tell me I didn't just staple a Sharpie to my penis for nothing.

Jan 11 2008 RoomWizard Meeting Room Scheduler Is Iffy

The RoomWizard is a $2,000+ piece of crap. It sits outside a conference room and lets you know if the room is in use. You can use the touchscreen to reserve the room, view the upcoming schedule, or try to break it by punching the thing while wearing a heavy ring. Red and green LEDs let you know if the room is in use, and the thing can be accessed via the computer at your desk and synced with Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook. Wow, all this for over $2,000. It's a deal too good to be passed up. Screw using a big piece of posterboard with a pen taped to a fork taped to a string taped to the wall for room signups. That is so analog. That is also so the way we do things around there. Except I hang a sock on the doorknob too, to let people know when I'm having a very special meeting. You know, one with the boss's secretary my wife during her lunchbreak a potted plant. You know, the slutty one that used to hang out by the water cooler.
