Nov 27 2007 Monitor For The Colorblind Coming Soon

colorblind-monitor.jpg

Eizo's 24-inch Flexscan SX2461W-U is a monitor made specifically for people with colorblindness. Which is awesome, because I'm slightly colorblind. Nothing so bad as not being able to differentiate green and red, but I do have trouble with some hues, particularly online. The unit utilizes CUD (Color Universal Design) technology that "uses shapes, positions, patterns, and so on to communicate color information back to the user." Sweet. The unit is available in Japan early next month for around $1,050, and will likely make its way around the world not too long after. If the price drops I may consider one. Because just last week I thought I was ordering a blue sweater from LL Bean, but it turns out I adopted a Chinese kid.

Jul 9 2007 GPNC 70" LCD PC

70-inch-pc-monitor.jpg

Korean company GPNC has put together a 70 inch all-in-one PC, making it the world's largest. The monitor is meant for commercial use and will come in both touch-screen and standard LCD models. Although the manufacturer didn't even bother taking a product shot without an XP error message in it, so who knows what kind of effort they're putting into this thing. If you open up the monitor it's probably just filled with styrofoam peanuts instead of actual electronics.

Feb 8 2007 LCD monitor vs Airsoft Desert Eagle

This guy's LCD monitor died so instead of throwing it out he decided to shoot it with his Tokyo Marui Airsoft Desert Eagle. Although I wish he tried it with a real Desert Eagle. I guarantee you it would've been exactly 1.3 billion times cooler.
