Aug 3 2009 Teen Girls Gaming: Twilight MMORPG Coming

I can't even begin to express how excited I was when I found out a Twilight massive mutiplayer online roll playing game (MMORPG) was in development by BrainJunk (no kidding) Studios. Seriously, I got so worked up I almost jumped off the roof of my apartment building.
Brandon Gardener, head of the software development for the project recently spoke to the Examiner. He describes the game as:
"an open non-linear world set around Forks. I like the idea of letting players explore the world, and discover new amazing things that are not even covered in the book or the movie..."Mr. Gardener based the story line around Twilight and Midnight Sun so players can play from Edward or Bella's perspective. He also wants to include New Moon so players can experience phasing into a werewolf.
Wow, can you say a bunch of creepy old guys trolling for teen girls in a video game? Because I can. It's pronounced Twilight: The MMORPG.
A Twilight based MMORPG is in development [twilightsource] (I lurk the shit outta that site)
Thanks to Arron, who is buying multiple PC's even as we speak.
Aug 6 2008 Star Trek Online Going Online, Sometime

Star Trek Online is going to be unveiled in a little over four days at the Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas (August 10th). Leonard Nimoy is set to make the announcement and show some actual gameplay footage. In case you were wondering, it's going to be a MMORPGLOLROTFLMFAO that takes place in the Star Trek universe. For those of you too lazy to go to the website:
Become part of Star Trek®: The Star Trek universe will appear for the first time in a massively multiplayer online game. Everything from the elegant domes of Starfleet Academy to the ancient temples of Vulcan, from the towers of Qo'noS to the Fire Caves of Bajor, from the mysterious Mutara Nebula to the unexplored voids of deep space, all will be represented in stunning 3-D graphics. Immerse yourself in the future of the Trek universe as it moves into the 25th century: a time of shifting alliances and new discoveries.
Adventure in the Final Frontier: Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations in an expanding vast universe. Make contact with alien races, discover resources and uncover mysteries that will change the future of the Star Trek universe.
You Are the Captain: Command your own starship as a Federation Captain or a Klingon Warrior. Outfit it with the systems that you need to make your mark in the galaxy. Customize your ship as you see fit. Recruit, train and mold your crew into an elite force for exploration and combat.
Boy am I excited. But truthfully, there's still only one way to play Star Trek, and that's dressed in a Starfleet jumpsuit you made out of your old highschool track uniform while sitting in a cardboard Enterprise. Want to play? Good, I'll be Geordi La Forge. Okay, now where the hell is my VISOR? Oh, great. Godammit woman, I told you that is NOT your hairband anymore, that's my freaking VISOR! I need it to see.
Star Trek Online
Thanks Zakkmiester, live long and prosper. And also, ass. Get a lot of ass.
Apr 1 2008 World Of Warcraft Console Game Coming

Blizzard recently announced a console version of World of Warcraft is in the works. It's called The Molten Core and gameplay consists of ogres, fire monsters, and other nasty f***ers duking it out in the center of the earth (I assume).
"Blizzard got its start in console gaming, and we've always been excited about returning to this arena," stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Additionally, we've wanted to reintroduce the 40-player raid dungeon experience for some time. With World of Warcraft: The Molten Core, we're able to do both."
No word on a drop date, but I guarantee my MMORPGROTFL playing roommate will stay up for three days playing it non-stop when it does. You should have smelled him after his last go at it -- ripe. And not strawberries and peaches ripe either, I'm talking baby shit ripe.
A ton of must see screenshots, concept art, and a link to the trailer after the jump.

Second Skin

World of Warcraft, Second Life, and Everquest allow millions of users to simultaneously interact in virtual spaces. Second Skin introduces us to couples who have fallen in love without meeting, disabled players who have found new purpose, addicts, Chinese gold-farming sweatshop workers, wealthy online entrepreneurs and legendary guild leaders - all living in a world that doesn’t quite exist.
Interesting. I actually just heard a story a few days ago about a guy that was two hours late picking up his fiancée from the airport because he had just got his mount in World Of Warcraft and absolutely had to ride it around for awhile before doing anything else. Not totally sure if he's still engaged or not. I think he is though, which makes his future wife one of the coolest chicks ever. Because one time I was three minutes late picking my wife up from work and she screamed at me, told me she wanted to drive on the way home, then proceeded to roll my arm up in the window and drag me six blocks.
