Jul 31 2008 Amazing: Wooden Mechanical Motion Machine
This is a video of an all wooden machine made by a 70-year old man named Del who may or may not be Santa Claus. It contains absolutely no metal whatsoever and displays virtually ever method of mechanical motion, all in a single machine. Sure it doesn't actually do anything, but who cares, it's freaking awesome. Santa even used a variety of different wood to make the thing, including: maple, black walnut, pine, oak, cherry, hickory, and morning. Well done! I've been good this year Santa, and I'm thinking this is what I want for Christmas. And, if it's not too much trouble, one of your female elves. Pointier the ears, the better.

Thanks Skyler, now let's build one out of marshmallows.
May 19 2008 Dude Undresses Chick With Heavy Machinery

This is a video of some guy undressing a chick with a mechanical digger. I'm petitioning to make it an Olympic sport. It was apparently on some Italian variety show and at first I thought they were using a mannequin. But they're definitely not, it's a real chick (hence the lifelike picture there). At the end of the video she's only wearing underwear and a camisole top or something, so this may be considered a little NSFW. Unless you work for a construction company, in which case this should be required viewing. Anyway, the guy completes the task in just over four minutes, which was pretty impressive. But I could have done it in three -- with a bulldozer.
Hit the jump for the slightly NSFW video.

Mar 11 2008 Uh-Oh: Nanobots To Take Over The World

Dr. Anirban Bandyopadhyah, of the National Institute of Materials Science in Tsukuba, Japan, has developed a chemical "brain" capable of controlling nanobots. This "brain", soon to be known by the few remaining humans not killed in the machine uprising as "Mother Brain" will control the bots responsible for the demise of humanity. The cave dwelling survivors of the apocalypse will regularly pray to Samus Aran that she return in all her hotness and destroy said brain to make the planet safe for humans once more.
Anyway, the two nanometer "brain" is made of 17 molecules of duroquinone, each considered a "logic device" and controlled by a center "control" molecule. By switching the control molecule in the center with a scanning tunneling microscope, the other 16 are switched based on the logical instructions received. There are over four billion combinations of outcome. At least three billion being "We're all going to die", and the other billion being "We're all going to die slowly."

Thanks to Justin, who may have to step in for Samus if things get out of hand, for the tip
