Nov 12 2009 Impressive: Dr. Mario Song And Music Video
This is a super impressive Dr. Mario song and accompanying animated music video, the result of a collaboration between Brentalfloss (of Mega Man, Super Mario World and Tetris song fame) and Parker Simmons. Good lookin', guys. Also, who knew that Link had Hepatitis? I mean, besides Zelda. And Talon. And *ahem* Epona. WRAP THAT OCARINA UP, SON!
Thanks to Mr. Cow, who doesn't put up with other bull. Get it? I know, I LOL'd too.
Nov 3 2009 Because I Love You (But Mostly For Myself): Stunning Princess Zelda Cosplay Gallery

These pictures have probably been around for a little while because I remember seeing a couple little ones way back in this post (mind like a steel trap, baby), but I'd never seen the full set. WELL HERE IT IS. Per cosplayer Lillyxanda:
I knew I wanted to be Princess Zelda when I played the original Legend of Zelda game back on Nintendo in 1987...it took me 18 years but i finaly got around to it. The illustrator Yusuke Nakano did'nt hold back when drawing the new designs for Princess Zelda. The designs are saturated in details for these grown up classic characters. I was feeling ambitious and decided to try and replicate the design. I had the honor of posing with the best Link cosplayer Pikminlink in some of these photos.
Hit the jump for like 15 more. No need to thank me. I mean, unless you're rich. Then you can thank me with money. Contact me for my bank account info. BUT NO NIGERIAN PRINCES. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and I'm one plane ticket to Africa away from WHIPPING YOUR ASS.
Your princess awaits....
Nov 1 2009 Please Stop Breaking Into My Car: "Try Again And I'll Go Gordon Freeman On Your Ass"

Some poor bastard, fed up with his car being broken into, decided to leave this passive aggressive note for the thieves. And not only does he reference Half-Life, THE DUDE KEEPS AN OCARINA IN HIS CAR. ZOMG, do you think he's Link?! Yeah, me neither.
Also, to guy's credit, I added the asterisk to his signature. DUDE MEANS BUSINESS.
Thanks to gabby, who would have booby trapped the car with Goron bombs.
Oct 12 2009 Legit Looking Master Sword For Sale On eBay

I know we've seen Master Sword replicas in the past, but check out the craftsmanship of this blade. Have you seen anything like it outside an elementary school arts & crafts class? I think not!
Hand-painted solid wood replica of the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Top quality craftsmanship, can be used as a wooden practice sword for fencing and martial arts. Blade is 17" long. Has a triforce carved into the blade.
Amazingly, current bidding is only up to $0.05 with five days remaining. But now that I've let the cat out of the bag, I don't expect to see it go for any less than $2.00. To yours truly. I only told you because I like a little competition! Try and beat me, I dare you! (yes I'm the seller)
Thanks to Ricardo, who mastered the sword in grade school and now swings a cannon.
Oct 9 2009 Could It Really Be?: Link's Biological Father

This is a picture of a Nordic looking dude who may or may not be Link's biological father. He probably is, I just never pictured Link Sr. as a pantless cigar smoker. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that. Love you Grandpa!
Picture (WARNING: all other images on that site are verrrrry NSFW. Clicking any of the other tags on the page will take you to cartoon pictures that will get you fired, including a ton more Zelda-themed ones I didn't look at, I swear).
Thanks to Yopoleo, who I question how he found the picture in the first place. Suuuure you just stumbled across it searching Google!
Oct 1 2009 Not For Combat: Sweet Master Sword Replica

This is a wicked looking Master Sword replica made by Fiberglass Blades, a cosplay and collector prop maker. And if you couldn't guess by the name, the blade isn't actually real. It's resin! So good luck killing a thief with one. But I still want it!
This replica of Link's Master Sword from Zelda: Twilight Princess is a perfectly accurate cosplay and collector prop. The sword was made with durable resin and reinforced with aluminum or fiberglass rods for structural support, making it well balanced for carrying as a cosplay prop. The paint was custom automotive paint for a metallic and mirror-like shine, and to resist minor scratches. The sword measures about 42" long, and weighs about 3lbs. The sheath was lined with suede and soft foam to keep the blade firmly in place, and prevent scratches while sheathing. The sword was also made for a Dark Link version as well.
Dude says prices typically run between $400-$600, but I don't know exactly how much this one is. Which is probably a good thing, cause then I'd start saving my money with a goal in mind. Now? Now I just blow whatever I have on booze and unhealthy food. It works for me. Can I borrow $1?
Hit the jump for a bunch more shots, including a sweet-ass Hylian Shield which is also available.

Sep 12 2009 Master Cuts: Life-Size Link Papercraft

Papercrafter Haywan got ambitious and decided to make a life-size Link. Out of paper. Making it quite possibly the most amazing feat I've ever seen in my entire life. Be sure to follow the links to see more pictures and ten videos of Haywan putting the thing together. WARNING: It's mind bogglingly complicated. Good lookin', Haywan, now how about a life-size Zelda? What? I LIKE PAPERCUTS DOWN THERE.
Hit the jump for a couple close-ups and a Link (!) to even more pictures and video.
Aug 6 2009 My Son Must Have This: Baby Link Outfit

I don't actually have a son, but if I did, he would be wearing this Link costume until he was 15. Doctor's orders! Made by craftster user UpKnitCreek for a friend's baby shower, it is hands down the best thing that's ever been given at a shower. And one time I gave a mother to be's best friend the business. And a rash. Double whammy!
Hit the jump for a couple more shots.

Jul 13 2009 Come On, 20!: Small Gallery Of Geeky Cakes

This Dungeons & Dragons themed cake and all the others after the jump (including some Zelda, Wolverine, Mario and Transformer action) were created by DeviantART user cakerific. And cakerific they are! I would even go as far as caketastic. And, as the sign on the door said, "Absolutely no outside food or drink permitted in the bar". OH YEAH, THEN HOW'D I JUST MIX A COCKTAIL IN THE BATHROOM? Sense: I make it.
Hit the jump for five more, all of which would look real good in my stomach right now mingling with the sushi. Well hello Mr. Eel Roll, how are you? Spicy.

Jun 16 2009 You + Me - Clothes + Mario = Romance

This handmade bed blanket was created by Etsy seller punzie and looks great (punzie also does custom work and has a bunch of other designs if you look in the sold items section). Granted, it would look even better with you underneath it. I'm not talking dead hooker style either, I'm talking real romantical like. What do you say, come over around 8? We'll fire up some oldschool NES, drink some sparkling cider (my parents don't allow alcohol in the house) and then retire to my luxurious twin-size. Oooh, you like a little role playing, do you? Well then, let me just slip into my Raccoon Mario costume. Okay, now pretend you're a garbage can.
Hit the jump for a ton more blankets (including some Zelda, Mega Man and Metroid action) and another link to the Etsy store.
Apr 20 2009 Awesome: Dog Named Link Dressed As Link

Loyal Geekologie Reader Natalia sent me pictures of her dog, Link, dressed as our favorite video game adventurer of the same name. As you can see, his costume is complete with classic green tunic, sword and shield. And that, my friends, is awesome. So awesome, in fact, I've been inspired to rename my dog Zelda and make her a dress.
UPDATE: BAD IDEA -- BAD IDEA!
Hit the jump for two more.

Apr 16 2009 I'll Have Another: The Triforce....OF BOOZE!

The Triforce is a shot made of equal parts dark rum, banana liqueur, and Goldschläger. It sounds delicious (minus the combination of rum, banana and cinnamon), and I'm going to drink them until I start seeing fairies. You know, like Julia Roberts in Hook. But way nakeder. YOW YOW, TINK!
So all you Zelda fans know the Tri-force has three parts. Link (courage), Zelda (wisdom), Gannon (strength), and The Geekologie Writer (awesome). That was the inspiration for this drink. I chose a dark Rum for Link, since he represents courage, and the nick-name for rum is "liquid courage." Then there is 99 Bananas for Zelda. It's smooth and refreshing (and since she is a girl, she gets the fruity part - duh!). And lastly there is Goldschläger for Gannon, representing strength, because it is the part of this shot that really kicks your ass.
Cool, but Goldschläger doesn't really kick your ass. I mean, it's 87 proof cinnamon-flavored mouthwash. No, I suggest we ramp up the "strength" aspect of the drink. I'm thinking moonshine. And by thinking I mean manufacturing. Unless you're a cop, in which case I really did mean thinking.
Meet me by the old oak tree.

Thanks Julian, I bought a round on your tab while you were in the bathroom. And drank them all. They tasted like happiness.
Apr 14 2009 It's Dangerous To Go Alone. Take This.

This is probably older than the topical gel I found in the back of my medicine cabinet while hunting for my Valtrex multi-vitamins, but that doesn't affect the cuteness. As you can see, it's a cat dressed up as Link. Making him the coolest cat ever (besides your own, I'm sure). Granted, he forgot the apostrophe in "I'm" and can't capitalize to save his last half-heart, but he's a cat for crying out loud. They're notoriously poor with grammar. And also, in general. MR. WHISKERS -- YOU'RE LATE ON RENT AGAIN!
Picture [wtfux]
Thanks to Spikey DaPikey, who agrees he could only be cuter if he was swinging a wooden sword.
Feb 11 2009 Finally, Zelda II Has Been Translated To Latin

Somebody went and translated all of Zelda II into Latin for the three people out there that might actually play it that way. They also did the original Zelda and Final Fantasy VI. Whee. As many of you may know, Zelda II is a sore subject for me because it's the only game in the entire series I haven't beat. And believe me, I've tried. I fire that sucker up and play through it at least twice a year AND STILL CAN'T DEFEAT THE LAST PALACE. So, anybody want to come over and beat it for me while I watch? The game too. HIYO!
Hit the jump for some more screenshots of the translated games.

Jan 26 2009 Big Pimpin' Hyrule Style : Golden Zelda Bling

Damn, now why didn't I think of that? Oh wait, I did. Screw you you bearded copy-cat, I am the OG!
Gold Zelda Cartridge Bling [buzzfeed]
Thanks to Pablo and Jack, who can only afford silver cartridge bling because they aren't filthy rich like me.
Jan 23 2009 Mmmm, I'd Eat Him: Windwaker Link Bento

Mmmm, bento: artsy AND delicious. Throw some Zelda up in the mix and, hello, side of lust! This particular box was made by anna the red, who was also responsible for some of the other ridiculous bento we've seen in the past.
I first thought of making Link on his boat, but there was too much blue... so I gave up. I love when Link raises his hand in the air and strikes a poise when finds an item, so I decided to make Toon Link in the forest, finding a piece of heart.
Freaking amazing -- it really looks too good to eat!
UPDATE, TWO WEEKS LATER: Probably should have, Link's getting hairy. And, oh God -- *HORF* musky.
Hit the jump for closeups.

Jan 13 2009 Zelda Theme A Capella: One Man, Four Hats
Zelda: I want to do her. And her video games are one of the few reasons I wake up every morning (that and writing for all you lovely people). Anyway, this is an a capella and violin version of the Zelda theme by a guy named Diwa de Leon.
This is my own rendition of the themes from Legend of Zelda game composed by Koji Kondo. Most of my picks came from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past originally for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
Awesome. And if that didn't give you goosebumps, well, you're obviously not a hat lover.
Youtube
Thanks to fabian, jackie, and Arran, who love Zelda almost as much as I do, but can't have her because I already called dibs. And also, shotgun -- I hate riding in the back.
Dec 30 2008 Yes Please!: Legend Of Zelda Messenger Bag

Damnit, why didn't I know about this before Christmas?
This ($45) Zelda Messenger Bag features the Zelda map and the Triforce logo. The bag is great for carrying your lap top or just keeping your paper organized for work or class. There are side pockets for easy access as well as an internal cell phone pocket and security pockets. This is a heavy duty messenger bag that will keep you organized but also show your love for LOZ.
It's a messenger bag. It's Zelda themed. Ladies and gentlemen, it's official: I'm hard. Oh -- make that medium. Fluffer!

Dec 12 2008 Sweet: Wicked Zelda Papercraft Models

Zelda. I almost named my dog Zelda. But then I realized the real princess probably wouldn't eat cat shit, so I didn't. Anyway, this is a papercraft model of Link's hat and hair from Twilight Princess. But it's only one of a million different Zelda models available over at Nintendo Papercraft (which has tons of other Nintendo characters as well). If you're good with scissors and glue go check them out, make some, then send them to me. I'm not allowed to use scissors anymore because I cut my own hair once when my mom wasn't paying attention. Then I ate it. It tasted hairy.
Hit the jump for a whole bunch more of my favorites, then check out the link for tons and tons more.
Dec 11 2008 Love: A Zelda Cosplay Girls Gallery *Swoon*

By now all you regulars know about my affinity for Zelda. And for you newcomers: I have an affinity for Zelda. So what better way to share my love of the princess than to, uh, post a bunch of pictures of chicks dressed as Link? I know, I'm confused too. But that hasn't stopped these amorous feelings. I'm especially digging the tall one in green on the left. I freaking love a chick that's cool not shaving her legs. RAWR!
Hit the jump for a ton more of the two in red and blue, who are actually chicks, I swear.
