Nov 3 2009 Because I Love You (But Mostly For Myself): Stunning Princess Zelda Cosplay Gallery

zelda-1.jpg

These pictures have probably been around for a little while because I remember seeing a couple little ones way back in this post (mind like a steel trap, baby), but I'd never seen the full set. WELL HERE IT IS. Per cosplayer Lillyxanda:

I knew I wanted to be Princess Zelda when I played the original Legend of Zelda game back on Nintendo in 1987...it took me 18 years but i finaly got around to it. The illustrator Yusuke Nakano did'nt hold back when drawing the new designs for Princess Zelda. The designs are saturated in details for these grown up classic characters. I was feeling ambitious and decided to try and replicate the design. I had the honor of posing with the best Link cosplayer Pikminlink in some of these photos.

Hit the jump for like 15 more. No need to thank me. I mean, unless you're rich. Then you can thank me with money. Contact me for my bank account info. BUT NO NIGERIAN PRINCES. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and I'm one plane ticket to Africa away from WHIPPING YOUR ASS.

Your princess awaits....

Oct 21 2009 Stop Motion Of Papercraft Link Construction

This is a little stop motion video of a papercrafter constructing a Link model. The model is amazing, and so is the build, so you should check it out. But you shouldn't check out library books that will get you blacklisted. Or women on the street. BECAUSE I AM AGAINST THE OBJECTIFICATION OF WOMEN. Women are people too, you know. Except those crazy bodybuilding ones. They're wild animals.

Youtube

Thanks to Jessica, who once made a papercraft model of the Geekologie Writer and then burn it as an effigy. Gee, thanks.

Oct 9 2009 Could It Really Be?: Link's Biological Father

links-father.jpg

This is a picture of a Nordic looking dude who may or may not be Link's biological father. He probably is, I just never pictured Link Sr. as a pantless cigar smoker. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that. Love you Grandpa!

Picture
(WARNING: all other images on that site are verrrrry NSFW. Clicking any of the other tags on the page will take you to cartoon pictures that will get you fired, including a ton more Zelda-themed ones I didn't look at, I swear).

Thanks to Yopoleo, who I question how he found the picture in the first place. Suuuure you just stumbled across it searching Google!

Oct 4 2009 Conspiracy!: Triforce Hidden In U.S. $1 Bills

triforce-dollar.jpg

Proof that our founding fathers were, in fact, from Hyrule, the United States $1 bill has Triforces hidden in all the big block E's. When contacted for comment, Princess Zelda had this to say, "My God you're handsome, Mr. Geekologie Writer". To which I replied, "HAND OVER THE TRIFORCE OF WISDOM!!"

Triforce Hidden In The One Dollar Bill [buzzfeed]

Thanks to greg, who once found a Triforce in a bowl of cereal and sold it on eBay, milk and all.

Sep 12 2009 Master Cuts: Life-Size Link Papercraft

paper-zelda.jpg

Papercrafter Haywan got ambitious and decided to make a life-size Link. Out of paper. Making it quite possibly the most amazing feat I've ever seen in my entire life. Be sure to follow the links to see more pictures and ten videos of Haywan putting the thing together. WARNING: It's mind bogglingly complicated. Good lookin', Haywan, now how about a life-size Zelda? What? I LIKE PAPERCUTS DOWN THERE.

Hit the jump for a couple close-ups and a Link (!) to even more pictures and video.

Sep 4 2009 It Will Be Mine!: This $15,000 Zelda Plate

zelda-plate.jpg

Seller homisydal (don't provoke him!) is selling this 1989 Zelda themed plastic plate for $15,000 on eBay. $15,000, WOW. That sounds kind of unreasonable, doesn't it? Hell no, that's why I bought it. I feel like I robbed the poor bastard!

$15,000 1989 collector's item legend of zelda... plate. as in the one you put food on. [technabob]

Aug 6 2009 My Son Must Have This: Baby Link Outfit

link-baby-1.jpg

I don't actually have a son, but if I did, he would be wearing this Link costume until he was 15. Doctor's orders! Made by craftster user UpKnitCreek for a friend's baby shower, it is hands down the best thing that's ever been given at a shower. And one time I gave a mother to be's best friend the business. And a rash. Double whammy!

Hit the jump for a couple more shots.

Jun 5 2009 Who Is That?!: New Zelda Game Concept Art

new zelda art.jpg

Although Nintendo didn't actually announce a new Zelda at E3 (but did announce a new Metroid, Super Mario Galaxy and WiiFit), here's some concept art shown by Shigeru Miyamoto to a group of game developers at a following conference.

I don't know about you, but that's no Princess Zelda. Could it be, as so many are speculating, the living incarnation of the Master Sword?

ZOMG -- the master sword chick doesn't have any arms! And I, for one, am not ashamed to admit that I would be totally cool hitting that. Armless swords are people too, you know.

Thanks to Julian, who once had sex with a Zora and almost drowned.

Jun 2 2009 For The Ladies: Reader's Sweet Zelda Tattoo

zelda tattoo.jpg

In a power move to impress Zelda tattoo girl (she's mine!), Geekologie Reader Erik got a badass Zelda tattoo of his own. Which, I think we can all agree, contrasts the flaming skull beautifully.

Thanks to Ronni and Erik, who know swinging a master sword and yelling is the way to any woman's heart.

Apr 20 2009 Awesome: Dog Named Link Dressed As Link

link dog 1.jpg

Loyal Geekologie Reader Natalia sent me pictures of her dog, Link, dressed as our favorite video game adventurer of the same name. As you can see, his costume is complete with classic green tunic, sword and shield. And that, my friends, is awesome. So awesome, in fact, I've been inspired to rename my dog Zelda and make her a dress.

UPDATE: BAD IDEA -- BAD IDEA!

Hit the jump for two more.

Apr 14 2009 It's Dangerous To Go Alone. Take This.

link cat.jpg

This is probably older than the topical gel I found in the back of my medicine cabinet while hunting for my Valtrex multi-vitamins, but that doesn't affect the cuteness. As you can see, it's a cat dressed up as Link. Making him the coolest cat ever (besides your own, I'm sure). Granted, he forgot the apostrophe in "I'm" and can't capitalize to save his last half-heart, but he's a cat for crying out loud. They're notoriously poor with grammar. And also, in general. MR. WHISKERS -- YOU'RE LATE ON RENT AGAIN!

Picture [wtfux]

Thanks to Spikey DaPikey, who agrees he could only be cuter if he was swinging a wooden sword.

Mar 22 2009 Hot: Female Reader Wielding Master Sword

master sword boner material.jpg

Responding to my request that the gamer chick pose atop a dinosaur with Link's Master Sword, Geekologie Reader Pepper sent me a picture of herself wielding said sword. Unfortunately, there's no dinosaur (just two ponies humping and a questionable computer background).

Though this message contains less than 1% real dinosaur, cosplaying, action, it does contain a gamer girl with a Master Sword. ME! Win? plz? *meep*

Much love to Geekologie, I visit your site several times a day, and is (sadly) typically the highlight of any given day, unless there is a new episode of Mythbusters on, or if my Charizard levels up. Level 78 bitches!

Hey, I'll take it. Also, I really think this is a step in the right direction for Geekologie. Namely, boob north. Ladies?

Thanks Pepper, now if you could just find a horse that looks like Epona....

Mar 19 2009 WTF Was That?: 'Put It On A Hook' A Rap Video Featuring Mario, Link And Mega Man

NOTE: VIDEO IS PROBABLY NSFW DUE TO LANGUAGE

I have no idea what I just watched but it had Mario, Link, and Megaman standing around drinking beer, taking bong hits and fishing. Which makes it the coolest thing I've seen all day not.*

*BBW holding 'I Heart Geekologie Sign' excluded.

Thanks again to Julian, who once caught a great white by dangling his hammerhead in the water. HIYO!

Feb 11 2009 Finally, Zelda II Has Been Translated To Latin

latin-zelda-1.jpg

Somebody went and translated all of Zelda II into Latin for the three people out there that might actually play it that way. They also did the original Zelda and Final Fantasy VI. Whee. As many of you may know, Zelda II is a sore subject for me because it's the only game in the entire series I haven't beat. And believe me, I've tried. I fire that sucker up and play through it at least twice a year AND STILL CAN'T DEFEAT THE LAST PALACE. So, anybody want to come over and beat it for me while I watch? The game too. HIYO!

Hit the jump for some more screenshots of the translated games.

Jan 27 2009 Sweet Ride!: A Legend Of Zelda Themed Car

zelda-car.jpg

First of all, I am the world's biggest Zelda fan and that's that, no arguing. I mean, I'm wearing a green freaking tunic and everything. TOOT TOOTLE TOOT DOOTLE DOOT. Yeah, that was me belting one out on the ocarina. You got me, it was a skin flute, but still. Anyway two chicks painted their car with an overworld map from The Legend of Zelda because they thought that would make them big fans or something. It doesn't. I'm the #1 fan. Also, I like turtles.

Zelda is a 1978 Ford Fairmont. She drives like a boat. She has a pretty low number of miles, because she sat still for about a decade in someone's backyard. I bought the car for $600 and spent $100 on paint. It has the map of The Legend of Zelda painted on the top of the car and the characters, Link and Zelda, on the sides. There is also a triforce and a small rendition of Sprite on the back sides. "Zelda" is painted on each side in large red letters.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna steal that sucker, but that doesn't mean these chicks love Zelda more than I do just because I didn't paint my car. Because, guess what -- I don't have a car! I ride a damn horse named Epona. To Lon Lon ranch, I've got a date with Malon!*

*Zelda, if you're reading this, I didn't mean it. You know your pointy ears are the only ones for me. Remember that time I went to kiss you on the cheek and one nearly poked my eye out? Yeah, that better not happen again. Also, Malon isn't underage is she?

Obsessed Gamers | Kathy and Becky [mtv]

Thanks Izzy Slypig, and remember: hoot like an owl if Zelda comes anywhere near the ranch.

Jan 23 2009 Mmmm, I'd Eat Him: Windwaker Link Bento

link-bento-1.jpg

Mmmm, bento: artsy AND delicious. Throw some Zelda up in the mix and, hello, side of lust! This particular box was made by anna the red, who was also responsible for some of the other ridiculous bento we've seen in the past.

I first thought of making Link on his boat, but there was too much blue... so I gave up. I love when Link raises his hand in the air and strikes a poise when finds an item, so I decided to make Toon Link in the forest, finding a piece of heart.

Freaking amazing -- it really looks too good to eat!

UPDATE, TWO WEEKS LATER: Probably should have, Link's getting hairy. And, oh God -- *HORF* musky.

Hit the jump for closeups.

Jan 15 2009 Somebody Please Make Me One: A Zelda 'Link To The Past' Cross Stitch Overworld Map

zelda-cross-stitch.jpg

It doesn't even have to be 'A Link To The Past' themed. It could be any Zelda, I don't care. I love them all. It took stitcher Servotron four long months to complete this map of the overworld from the SNES classic. As you can see, it's awesome and belongs in a museum. Or shrine -- the Geekologie Writer's Shrine to Zelda And The Pretty Girl Who Lives Across The Street That I'm Always Too Afraid To Talk To But Whose Name Is Karen. It takes up the better half of my closet. So far it consists of: a Zelda poster, all the games, and some of Karen's trash, including, but not limited to, a utility bill (that's how I know her name).

Hit the jump for more cross stitchy goodness, including maps of Oracle of Ages, Link's Awakening, and Super Mario 3. Now get crafting!

Dec 30 2008 Yes Please!: Legend Of Zelda Messenger Bag

loz-bag.jpg

Damnit, why didn't I know about this before Christmas?

This ($45) Zelda Messenger Bag features the Zelda map and the Triforce logo. The bag is great for carrying your lap top or just keeping your paper organized for work or class. There are side pockets for easy access as well as an internal cell phone pocket and security pockets. This is a heavy duty messenger bag that will keep you organized but also show your love for LOZ.

It's a messenger bag. It's Zelda themed. Ladies and gentlemen, it's official: I'm hard. Oh -- make that medium. Fluffer!

Dec 11 2008 Love: A Zelda Cosplay Girls Gallery *Swoon*

zelda-1.jpg

By now all you regulars know about my affinity for Zelda. And for you newcomers: I have an affinity for Zelda. So what better way to share my love of the princess than to, uh, post a bunch of pictures of chicks dressed as Link? I know, I'm confused too. But that hasn't stopped these amorous feelings. I'm especially digging the tall one in green on the left. I freaking love a chick that's cool not shaving her legs. RAWR!

Hit the jump for a ton more of the two in red and blue, who are actually chicks, I swear.

Nov 7 2008 iPhone Ocarina App Won't Call Epona, Turn Night Into Day, Warp You Anywhere, Make You Look Cool

The ocarina is an ancient instrument (possibly dating back 12,000 years) that has appeared in Zelda games. Which makes it dear to my heart. And I post all things Zelda on Geekologie. Because I love it that much. You could send me a tip about naming your boner Link and I'd post that shit. I'm honestly that stupid. Anyway, now there's an ocarina application for the iPhone. It's called SMule Ocarina, and it'll set you back a penny short of a buck. You just blow into the phone's mic, push the simulated holes on top, and look like a jackass. But go ahead, play the Song of Time, I dare you. You know what's gonna happen? I'm gonna punch you in the face. I have a real ocarina bitches! TOOT TOOTLE TOOT DOODLE DOOT!

Hit the jump for a video that made me cut myself.
