Oct 25 2009 For A Very Limited Time: Dino-Arm T-Shirts

rawr-shirts.jpg

Even while I write this the clock is ticking. There are only 13 hours left to order this shirt (or save the image so you can blow it up and print it yourself) before it's gone forever. And, because I'm slow, by the time this actually gets posted you'll probably have less than 12. $11 gets the shirt sent anywhere in the continental US via a combination of airplanes and ground transport vehicles. Get one for yourself and a lady-friend and then challenge her to a dino arm wrestling competition! Wow, did I really just hold your hand and walk you to second base? I think I did! (Don't forget to send a thank you)

TeeFury (will be a different shirt tomorrow, so order if you want it)

Thanks to two sledgehammers dennis, who BOOM....BOOM!

May 30 2009 Own Your Very Own (Miniature) Bat Signal

little bat signal.jpg

Want your own miniature bat signal? Now's your chance -- a limited edition of 500 are being sold for $260 from Entertainment Earth.

The miniature replica Bat-Signal features a sturdy metal construction and stands about 12-inches tall. It's got a built-in cooling fan and can be swiveled and tilted to give you the best shot at making contact with the Dark Knight. Of course, since the light can only project the Bat symbol about 16-feet, don't expect him to show, unless he happens to live in your bedroom closet.

Now I'm not saying you should cut a bat out of black contact paper and slap it on a pre-existing lamp, but, I mean, recession. $4 bat signal: 1, $260 bat signal: 3. Wait a minute -- 3? Damn you, style points!

wetsuit 1.jpg

Want to look like a shark attack victim? I know, who doesn't? Well now thanks to a line of wetsuits by Diddo (the same guy that created these designer gas masks), you can. Currently only available in limited editions, the wetsuits will hit full production sometime in the near future. Just don't expect me to fall for the shark attack thing more than once. And speaking of which, have I ever told you about the time I faked drowning so the sexy lifeguard would perform mouth to mouth? His mustache was scratchy.

Apr 8 2009 Super Realisitic Dark Knight Joker Figures

joker 1.jpg

This 1/6 scale Joker figure from Hot Toys' 'Movie Masterpiece Deluxe' line only stands a foot tall but is super-realistic, including moving, semi-translucent eyes. The figurine comes with two heads (one with Joker make-up, see after the jump), several different outfits, and interchangeable hands and weaponry. No word on price yet (probably expensive based on the quality), but they should be available sometime this summer/fall. So, start saving your milk money, kids. And also, yourself for marriage -- the wait is worth it.

Hit the jump for a bunch more detailed pictures.

Dec 3 2008 Out Of This World Deliciousness: Space Beer

space-beer.jpg

Mmmm, space beer. It's the stuff my sci-fi fantasies are made of. Well, that, and the aquamarine breasts of alien chicks. Well now fantasy and reality collide -- with honest-to-God space beer (sort of)!

The beer will be made with barley -- to be harvested this weekend -- descended from seeds that spent five months in 2006 aboard the International Space Station.

Sapporo isn't planning to sell the special brew, at least for now, and hasn't decided how it will distribute the planned 100 bottles, Matsumura said.

So far, scientists have not found any difference between space barley and the Earth-confined version, she said.

First of all, The Geekologie Writer clearly deserves a bottle. And secondly, have you tried the new beer on tap at the Mos Eisley Cantina? It's called PEW PEW Pilsner. BWAHAHHA HAHA! Han shot first! Whew *wiping tear* God I hate myself.

Thanks to Jumpin_J and Pat, who, for the tips, can each get a sip of my space brew. Backwash.

Aug 1 2008 Yes Please!: Limited Edition Goonies Pumas

goonies-1.jpg

For every kid there's a movie that so was awesome to watch in your youth that it shaped your very being. For many, this movie was Goonies. For me, it was a sick German porno I found in my uncle's closet. But that doesn't make these limited edition Goonies Disk Blaze Pumas any less awesome. Dropping around the 6th of December for an undisclosed number of doubloons, they've got everything a gang of prepubescent treasure hunters could want in a pair of sneakers.

Puma obtained exclusive rights to the artwork and constructed this LE release out of the map on our most iconic runner from the early 1980's, the Disc Blaze. It features the infamous Disc closure system, heavy weave pull tabs and exclusive Goonies film logos on heel, sockliner and midsole. The limited Puma "List" sneaker comes in a customized burlap Goonies sack. Enjoy your adventure trying to snatch these up.

Must have!

Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket.

Oh man, I could sit here and copy/paste Goonies quotes forever, but I'm on a mission today. It's a top-secret operation I've cleverly named Operation Get Drunk At The Local Street Fair, Eat A Street Vended Sausage, And Buy A Bunch Of Knick Knacks I'll Regret Tomorrow.

UPDATE: I puked kielbasa all over a basket weaver. Mission Accomplished!

A bunch more of the shoes along with, because it's Friday and I love you all dearly, a video of Chunk doing the Truffle Shuffle.

Jul 31 2008 "Offbeat Attitude" Star Wars Figurines

star-wars-1.jpg

This is a Star Wars KUSTOMZ, which "take characters and vehicles from the Star Wars universe and transforms them with an "offbeat attitude". That's the Camo Speeder Bike figure there, and there's a Red Baron TIE Fighter after the jump. They were just released at San Diego Comic Con last week and retail for $70. But they're limited edition so you better get on it. And also, the pill. I'm not ready for kids.

Hit the jump to see the Red Baron TIE Fighter.

Jul 10 2008 Limited Edition Star Wars Adidas Shoes

star-shoes-1.jpg

This is the first I'd heard about the limited edition Star Wars x Adidas Super Stars sneakers (do people still say sneakers? I do) but apparently they came out a couple months ago and were limited to 800 pairs per side of the force (that's 800 dark side, 800 light side). So they're probably already snatched up. I looked on eBay and nada. So, yeah, I guess I'm gonna have to write a couple threatening letters to Adidas to send me a pair.

Great attention to detail was taken by Adidas for these sneakers. The "Yoda" Super Stars feature a hemp upper much like something the Jedi Master wore on his home planet of Dagobah. In addition to the good choice of colors and materials, Adidas also covered the lace tips in the neon green color of Yoda's lightsaber. The "Darth Vader" Super Stars takes inspiration from the characters mask. The parallel lines on the side are like that covering Vader's mouth and the black patent leather to represent the glossy finish. Again Adidas finished off the kicks with red lace tips to match Vader's lightsaber.

Okay, so I just found a place that had been selling them (sold out now) for $275. Which, around here, is the same price as 11 mediocre lap dances (22 on buy one get one free night). And, honestly, which would feel better on your weary soles(!)? The prosecution rests.

Hit the jump for a ton more pictures of both the Vader and Yoda models.

Jul 8 2008 Geekologie Exclusive: The Next Mimobot Star Wars Series 3 Character Is...(Drumroll, Please)

wicket-1.jpg

Wicket! Come collect your prize. Last week it was announced that Darth Sidious was the first character in the Mimobot Series 3 of Star Wars USB drives, but Wicket comes in a solid second. God I love that furry little bastard. So cute, I just want to eat him. I mean after skinning and roasting of course. I kid, I kid! The remaining two characters will be revealed in the next two weeks, and the entire series goes on sale July 23rd. Hit the jump for several closeups and a little diorama of Wicket standing on an Imperial Speeder in the woods with several other characters. After all, what good is a USB drive if it doesn't look like one of your favorite movie characters and can't be set it up in little dioramas?*

*No good.

Hit it for more pictures.

Apr 28 2008 Word Clock: But I Never Learned To Read!

word-clock.jpg

If you've been keeping up with Geekologie for a while then you know we've seen a number of different clocks that tell time with words instead of digits. Well designer Hans Tan felt none of those were verbose enough, and thus created the Idea of a Clock II (I've got the feeling someone punched the shit out of Idea of a Clock I and broke it). As you can see it has a whole bunch of words on it, less than half of which have anything to do with the actual time. So you just have to jump to the end to get your fix. Like you people that skip to the end of posts to read the joke and not all this awesome fluff. The clocks are limited edition and you have to contact Hans to get a price quote. Which is code for way too freaking expensive for an LED bulletin board. That said, I'm stealing this idea and making my own damn clock. It's gonna be called Idea of a Laser Clock and it'll basically be a piece of plywood with a laser attached and the following words painted on in bright red:

This is the idea
of a laser clock
that tells you
the time with lasers
at exactly
now a powerful burning laser
is zapping you in the nads.

Makes a great alarm too.

world clock is a little too verbose for me [technabob]

Apr 21 2008 Knife Hooks Let Company Know You're Nuts

knife-hangers.jpg

Remember all the unusually themed knife blocks from awhile ago? Well in that same vein come these hooks. Each one is a polyurethane and steel hanger that screws into the wall to give the appearance of a knife stuck there. While cool, designer Tianyi Chang is only making 50 of them, and each will go for $50. Needless to say my sweat shop will start manufacturing immediately, and we'll be selling for a lot cheaper. Anyone interested can contact one of my child workers for pricing. Discounts on wholesale orders, no discounts on partsale orders. Any attempt to expose my sweatshop to the authorities will not be tolerated but will likely result in my imprisonment and the subsequent pillaging of my fragile buttocks.

Apr 11 2008 Digital Looking Watch Is All Analog, Awesome

analog-digital-1.jpg

The Di Grisogono Meccanica DG watch looks digital, but is purely analog. Only 177 are being made, and each contains over 651 parts.

The mechanically operated digital display of the second timezone shows tens of hours, single hours, tens of minutes and single minutes, all displayed by mobile microsegments driven by an assemblage of 23 cams connected to a set of gears and a triggering and synchronization system. The time information is displayed by an array of 23 horizontally and vertically positioned microsegments. Vertical segments are 9 mm high and weigh at most 25 milligrams while the horizontal segments measure 2.90 mm in length and weigh only 10 milligrams. The segments have four faces: two opposing visible faces fitted with colored strips and two opposing unmarked faces. Time changes are effected by 90° rotations of the required segment or segments. Involving one to twelve segments, time changes are lightning fast.

Freaking awesome! Man, I want a digital looking analog watch. Especially one that's more expensive than a house. I swear, I'd just stare at it changing time all day long. Plus it'd probably cover the cancerous looking mole that I'm too afraid to go get checked out. If it has hair growing out of it does that mean it's safe?

A couple more pictures after the jump.

Mar 18 2008 Transformer Zippos Have The Power To Transform Things Into Things On Fire

transformer-zippos.jpg

These Transformer Zippos are a limited edition release from Japan. They come in black and silver and only 300 of each were made. As you can see from the picture, they're lighters with Optimus Prime's profile on them. I assumed they were snatched up already, but checked eBay and found them available for $110-$140. I like them and all, but I think that it's kind of wrong that when you open the lighter it looks like Prime's head has been cut in half and there's a flame coming out of it. I mean show the robot some respect, he did help save the damn planet. And speaking of helping save the planet, the neighbors (who are probably Decepticon sympathizers) are getting pretty upset about my environmental commitment to peeing in the front yard.

Feb 27 2008 Star Watches Let You Know What's Up (!)

star-watches.jpg

These Celestial Watches from Citizen let you know what's going on up in the heavens at any given time. They're a limited edition of 200 yellow ones and 500 blue, and run $585 for the large size and $449 for the smaller one. Basically the face rotates around in real time giving you an exact picture of the night sky that's currently visible. Then using the various dials you can, um, do other stuff that is way over my head because I'm a stupid a-hole. All I'm hoping is that it comes with an alarm that warns of an impending alien visit and subsequent probing. This alarm will be known as Uranus alarm, because it helps protects it from experimentation.

Feb 5 2008 Adidas Halo Shoes Are Highly Questionable

halo-shoes.jpg

Adidas is only making 100 pairs of these Halo inspired sneakers. As you can see, they're constructed of black leather, some other material with guns printed on it, and come complete with blue accents. They cost $110. Personally I don't know why they made them. Hardcore gamers like myself don't buy or wear crap like this, we wear slippers. And it takes a real man to admit that. It also takes a real man to admit that you pee in a wastebasket because you refuse to take a break from gaming. Which, uh, I may admit to if enough people agree it makes me a real man.

UPDATE: Girlfriend just caught me peeing in wastebasket. Relationship over. Evidently not real man.
