Artist/photographer Greg de Stefano created a gallery of Super Smash Bros: Brawl cosplay characters. As you'll see, he did an incredibly good job. Not as good of a job as I did, but he didn't just win 'Employee of the Month' for the second month in a row, now did he? No, he didn't. Where's your "#1 Stunna" coffee mug, Greg? Exactl-- WHERE'D YOU GET THAT?!?

May 15 2009 Eye Candy: Classic Video Game Remakes
This is a little gallery of re-imagined video games by deviantARTist Orioto (aka Mikaël Aguirre). This is Kid Icarus and Donkey Kong Country here. Unfortunately, these don't do the full sized pictures justice, so you'll need to head over to Mikaël's deviantART page to see them in their full glory. Otherwise, you're cheating yourself. May 7 2009 Wow, That's Pretty Brutal: 8-Bit Fatalities
Flickr user tastypaints.com has a dream. A dream about what Mortal Kombat-style fatalities would look like in oldschool, 8-bit games. Nice, tastypaints (I'll keep him occupied, you call the nuthouse).
Before Mortal Kombat, violence in video games was largely unheard of or ignored because of its extreme pixelized simplicity. But when Liu Kang and Sub Zero came along to finish off arcade goers the world changed and parents were in an uproar (not mine though).
Just because you didn't see pac-man violently tearing into the ghosts with his jaws, or mario smashing in the brains of a goomba, thats what I knew was happening. I knew my goal was to kill these enemies, so Mortal Kombat wasn't a big change for me. And so, I decided to show everyone just what I imagined was happening when these little blocky, pixelized abstractions did when they came into contact with eachother, but in a much more visceral, and gory way than could ever be shown with limited graphical systems.

Mar 26 2009 Head Phones Inspired By Favorite Songs
Nokia recently held a promotion encouraging designers to make a pair of headphones inspired by their favorite song. The set above is entitled 'I'm Flying' and was (no joke) created in honor of R Kelly's "I Believe I can Fly", which I am now declaring a euphemism for peeing on someone. Per the Geekologie Writer's dictionary:
I believe I can fly
Slang terminology for peeing on your partner for sexual gratification.Honey, quick -- to the bathtub, I believe I can fly!!
