Dec 23 2008 The Ultimate In Christmas Lighting Effects

I vow to be the guy who puts up the ridiculous Christmas lights every year. But no inflatable decorations. Those things are freaking classless. Unless you have them in your yard, in which case, good looking. But we're talking lights here. We're talking serious exterior illumination. We're talking....Light-O-Rama!

Light-O-Rama is an affordable, computerized lighting system designed to control elaborate or simple lighting displays. The Light-O-Rama system can be applied to almost any lighting situation, from stand-alone controllers to synchronizing hundreds of controllers, motion detectors, animation servos and other devices using a personal computer or master controller. Light-O-Rama controllers are micro-processor based (miniature computers inside) and are equipped to produce a number of great lighting effects such as smooth ramping, cyclic/cross fading, dimming, twinkling and many others.

You heard it here folks, miniature computers inside. You just shell out $2,700 for a 128 channel system, plug in a shit-ton of lights, connect to your PC, and presto, you triple the electric bill and burn your house to the ground. But I think we can all agree: it's a small price to pay for a Youtube video I'll watch every Christmas.

Hit the jump for a picture of a fire waiting to happen and a bunch more classic Christmas lighting videos, most of which are OLD AS HELL.

Sep 25 2008 This Is Where Babies Come From

They just crawl out the end of this thing.

Note: Possibly NSFW depending on your employer's "watching videos of kids crawling out the end of a giant inflatable pecker" policy.

Thanks to Romeo and Stephanie, who both agree a giant vagina would have been much more appropriate.

Apr 8 2008 Nap At Work With The Nappak Sleeping Cube

naptime-1.jpg

If there's one thing I hate about going to work, it's the lack of comfortable places to sleep during my afternoon siesta. Enter the Nappak Sleeping Cube. It's an inflatable cubby where you can stretch out and doze to your heart's content. Not exactly a cube, but that's okay. While it certainly is better than napping face down on your keyboard, I have a few other suggestions for great places to sleep at work (based on several years experience).

The trunk of your car
Benefits: Cozy, dark, can add pillows and blankets.
Drawbacks: Getting locked inside. Being rear ended mid-nap.

Bathroom stall

Benefits: Easily accessible, private, can urinate as you nap.
Drawbacks: Gas, bathroom noises, legs falling asleep.

Your boss's desk, with his secretary.
Benefits: Lockable door, someone to spoon, potential to get some (or at least cop a feel).
Drawbacks: Possible sexual harassment case and/or disease. Boss kicking in the door, yelling at you. Termination.

A couple more pictures after the jump.

Nov 21 2007 Ninja Vs. Pirate: The Battle Rages On

ninja-vs-pirate.jpg

Who's the supreme killer, ninja or pirate? Now you can help settle the debate yourself thanks to these inflatable radio controlled characters from ThinkGeek. They cost $35 for the set and each runs off one 9V battery for the controller, and four AAs for the actual character. Make sure to use these batteries for an unfair advantage. The object is to ram the enemy over, "killing" them. There's a video after the jump which shows a dog attacking them. ZOMG -- Dog vs. Ninja vs. Pirate, I smell a reality series!

Video after the battle.

Mar 1 2007 Inflatable bar glows in the dark

bubble-miami.jpg

The Bubble Double-bar is an inflatable and illuminated double-bar which is easy to transport and install. Perfect if you need an impromptu bar or if you just prefer all your furniture to be inflatable. And who doesn't? If the Bouncy Toilet 2000 has taught me anything it's that inflatable furniture is the wave of the future.
