Oct 7 2009 Photosketch: Photoshop For The Unskilled

Photosketch is an intuitive computer program that makes Photoshopping pictures of yourself humping a dinosaur crushing a robot's skull even easier. You just sketch out some stick figures, add text labels, and the program does all the heavy lifting for you.
A group of researchers have put together a system called PhotoSketch which allows the user to literally sketch a desired scene (see above for an example), label each part of the scene with keywords, then PhotoSketch searches the web for photos and assembles a photographic version of the sketch.
Why the hell anybody would want a picture of themself with a strange woman on a beach with a regatta in the background is beyond me, but hey, it's possible. And you know what else is? Anything you put your mind to. I jest, you'll never accomplish anything. Kidding -- you're all winners in my book. I mean that.

Subject: NEED HELP!!!If there's anyone who can help me here, i know you can!!! I've been searching on the web for a while but am starting to get SUPER BUMMED! I even posted a YAHOO ANSWERS question (LINK) but no luck! Long story short, I want to expand my undie collection. I love my care bears and all... but it's time to add to it... Problem is I don't know where to find adult, female underwear with sweet graphics/logos like TMNT, MEGA MAN, TETRIS, G.I. JOE, POWER RANGERS (only the originals), STREET FIGHTER, X-MEN, ZELDA, etc.
Surely you've HAD to have come across some websites that can answer my problem!? Please let me know! Also, you are so totally handsome I will send you pictures if you help me out!
What -- no I didn't add that last part myself! I added that last part myself. :(
Feb 8 2009 Do It Yourself: How To Make Pixel Cookies

This is a chunk of cookie dough made by extruding individual "pixel logs" out of a Play-Doh machine and stacking them to form a design. Flickr user SeattleJonman has a little picture tutorial if you want to see the process, it's pretty basic. Now, if they just tasted like Girl Scout Cookies we'd be in business. The hell yeah business. Any guesses what this particular design is? Here, I'll give you a hint: tape your buttcheeks together.
Hit it to find out.

Oct 20 2008 My Turn, My Turn!: McCain's In Game Ads

Remember last week's Obama in-game ads? Well now it's McKillaCain's turn, and he's gone with a different approach. Namely using old games instead of modern ones. Like Obama's, the ads were professionally photoshopped by Paul Tassi, and are a throwback to a simpler time. A time when gas was cheap, video games were basic, and I had no idea what my penis was for. I think it's a coffee stirrer.
Hit the jump for a bunch more.

Oct 3 2008 Burton Releases Series Of Sexy Snowboards

Burton Snowboard's new Love series was made in cooperation with Playboy and feature busty centerfold pictures. Because let's face it, what could be cooler than cruising down the mountain on a booby-covered board? Ha, no, not dead hookerboarding, although....

Sep 12 2008 Burn Whatever You Want Onto Your Toast. Cha-Ching, eBay Fortune Here I Come!

Similar in concept to the Note Toaster, comes this little marvel of bread heating technology. The brainchild of industrial designer Sung Bae Chang, the Scan Toaster connects to your computer via USB and can burn pretty much whatever the hell you want onto your bread.
The toaster utilizes a network of toasting "modules" -- hot wires that rotate within a 30 degree radius -- that burn the image or text you have selected onto the delicious slice of your choice.
Awesome. Crank out a Virgin Mary or Large Hadron Collider and start raking in the dough on eBay. Or, if you want to get really creative, a giant member spewing butter or jam. Just saying, sex sells. Unfortunately my condo doesn't -- somebody buy this freaking dump already.

Thanks to Julian, who's looking for a lovely lady to butter his bread. And also, make him an omelet.
Sep 2 2008 I Am 8-Bit Art Exhibit: Works For Sale

There's an art exhibit running in Hollywood until September 7th entitled "I Am 8-Bit" that features a bunch of old school gaming inspired art. If you're in the area you might want to check it out at: Wonder Storefront Gallery, 6650 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA. But if you can't make it, all the pieces are available for sale online. The originals are fetching over a grand, but there are a couple prints (including a wicked Link/Gannon) for $100. Hit the jump to see some of my favorites, along with a link to both the show gallery and print sale page. Let's face it, there just isn't anything cooler than 8-bit gaming art. Well, besides 4-bit gaming art. ZOMG I'm so oldschool!
Hit it.
Dec 24 2007 Man Plays 'Jingle Bells' On Graphics Card
Well tomorrow is Christmas folks. And that means different things to different people. For me it means drinking until my hands turn blue and I try to make out with my sister. Maybe it means something different to you. To get you all in the spirit I'm posting this video of Alessandro Bordin playing 'Jingle Bells' on the heat sink of his graphics card. Enjoy.
Everybody have a good Christmas and hopefully you'll be opening lots of gadgets, gizmos, and awesome tomorrow. If you don't get what you want just get drunk off the nog and start picking fights. After all, nothing says "Happy Birthday Jesus!" like taking a swing at your aunt for buying you something crappy.
Merry Christmas, see you all on Wednesday.

Sep 17 2007 Motion Portrait Animates Still Photos

Motion Portrait takes a single photograph and digitizes it while extracting 3D information so that it can be animated. Right now the animation options are pretty limited, and it reminds me of this thing, but I see the potential. Soon you'll be able to take a digital picture of yourself, upload that bad boy to your favorite porno movie, and then watch yourself have the sex your hand can't provide. Oh, and if the picture is any indication of quality, the program does less conversion to CG, and more conversion to smack addict.
A video after the jump showing the transformation.
Aug 27 2007 360 Degree Light Field Display

Shown at SIGGRAPH 2007, the Interactive 360 Degree Light Field Display won the Best Emerging Technology Award. Designed by USC's Institute for Creative Technologies, the system is capable of producing interactive 3D graphics to multiple viewers in 360 degrees.
The display consists of a high-speed video projector, a spinning mirror covered by a holographic diffuser, and FPGA circuitry to decode specially rendered DVI video signals. The display uses a standard programmable graphics card to render over 5,000 images per second of interactive 3D graphics, projecting 360-degree views with 1.25 degree separation up to 20 updates per second.
Now I'm not totally sure what all of that means, because I'm an astronaut and not familiar with light field displays, but I think what they're saying is that the next time R2-D2 projects Princess Leia in 3D it's going to be in my bedroom and she's going to be naked.
A video after the jump.
