Aug 8 2009 Light Graffiti: The LED Spraypaint Can

led-spraypaint.jpg

Halo is an LED spraypaint can by French designer Aissa Logerot. Basically, instead of spraying paint (which, kids, you shouldn't huff), it has an LED that sprays light!

the LED light can change colors and brightness on the fly and while it's powered by an internal battery that can be charged by shaking of the can.

"Graffiti artists can conserve their own gesture they have with an aerosol spray. It is possible to change the color and the brightness of the led to change the graffiti's styles. If the light doesn't have enough battery, the user must shake it to have energy again."

Sure you could do the same thing with any LED, but I like the can form factor. Plus, I like shaking things. So, what should I spray first? I'm leaning towards A WAY TO YOUR HEART. Then, once you're mine, a dinosaur eating an airplane.

Thanks to naas, who once sprayedpainted the side of an entire building with urine.

Jun 16 2008 Graffitified AT-AT Up On The Auction Block

graffiti-at-at.jpg

Remember that awesomely awesome decrepit looking AT-AT that won some model contest? Yeah, that thing was awesome. And you might think this one is too depending on how you feel about an AT-AT that's had the hell tagged out of it.

Suckadelic

Graff-At, 2002

Customized Hasbro Star Wars vehicle customized by professional Graffiti artists EASE and JK5 under the direction of SUCKADELIC. All tags are written in the Aurebesh language, a fictional letter system created for the in-world use for the 6 Star Wars films. The largest tag on the side of the vehicle spells the word REBEL. 16x18in.

The auction is expected to fetch between $1,500 and $2,000 but I have no idea what the bidding starts at. But if I had to guess I'd say right around Hoth. Get it? Because that's where the big AT-AT fight scene is in The Empire Strikes Back. Now laugh or the tauntaun gets it.

Thanks Chatham, let's outbid whoever wants it really bad and then break it in front of them

May 7 2008 Website Lets You Graffiti Any Other Website

site-graffiti.jpg

Paintthatshitgold.com not only stole the domain name I wanted, but it actually made pretty cool use out of it (not the website I was gonna make about people with gold privates). Basically you enter any URL you want, and then the site it provides you with graffiti tools (markers, spray cans, stencils) so you can graffiti the hell out of it. I did one for the best website on the interwebs (Geekologie), and you can see the results above. Now I know what you're thinking, "Damn, The Geekologie Writer has mad graffiti skeelz." And you're right, I do. I swear, you put a spraypaint can in my hands, and I'll huff the hell out of it.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
: Kids, huffing is bad. Don't do it. Not even a spot of delectable model airplane glue. It really does destroy your brain, and not in a good way like alcohol. Just look at me, I'm priving loof.

Oh, and if you make anything good, attach the link in the comments

Oct 19 2007 Tag Your Living Room With The Graffiti Sofa

graffiti-sofa.jpg

Designer Teruhiro Yanagihara has introduced the 'Grafitti Sofa', which you can mark with your fingers to design. Whatever you scratch in will remain until the sofa is ironed. Now call me crazy, but I could have sworn these were introduced, oh I don't know, forever ago. I've been scratching sofas for years. Ah yes, it seems like just yesterday I was scratching "I banged your girlfriend right here" into a friend's couch. Oh wait, that was yesterday. Hold on, doorbell. Oh Jesus, it's my friend. It looks like he has a gun.

Feb 21 2007 Laser graffiti writes on buildings

laser-grafiti.jpg

The guys at Graffiti Research Lab have developed a way to graffiti on buildings using lasers. It's not permanent of course, but I'm always looking for cool new ways to draw giant penises on things.
