Dec 4 2008 Kinda Tacky: Diamond Plate Foosball Table

diamond-plate-foos.jpg

Foosball: the sport of champions. And by champions I mean those who like to drink in dark, smoke-filled bars. Which I freaking rule at! *high-five* Whoa, watch the drink buddy. So yeah, a $1,200 foosball table with diamond plate accents. This thing is straight tacky as shit but might look okay in a garage. Provided it's in pieces. Under a big blue tarp. With bricks holding it down. Geekologie: helping not sell your company's products since 2006.

May 5 2008 Super Long Foosball Table Is Mad Super Long

looong-foosball.jpg

This is allegedly the world's longest foosball table (but not the bathtubbiest). It was made by Amstel (purveyor of that fine Amsterdamian beer) to coincide with the European Champions League Finals. It takes 22 players (two soccer teams worth) to play a game. Being a lover of foos, I'd love to give it a go on that sucker. It'd certainly be the longest game of foos I'd ever play! Get it! There was a double meaning there. Long time-wise and long like someone should punch me in the nuts because I deserve it. Unfortunately I could never actually play on this table because I hate strangers and have no friends. Something about being "no fun to hang out with" and "a major fruit-flavored douchepop".

Apr 11 2008 Designer Foosball Table Looks Bathtubby

foosball-table-1.jpg

This is a foosball table created by GRO design and Tim modelmakers. It's called '11 - The Beautiful Game', because 11 is the number of players on each team (not including humans), and it's beautiful when you kick somebody's ass and they have to buy you a beer. The table is going to be exhibited during Milan Design Week from April 16th - 21st, so someone go check it out and try to break a player off for me. While I can certainly appreciate the thing's design, it would probably be annoying to play on. Especially with the chrome handles. That said, this table gives me an idea. The idea for a bathtub foosball table -- that you actually play in the bath! Oh man, I would never leave. I'd sit in there wailing away until the water was cold and I was all pruney. I mean toy boats are still fun and all, but I'm a big boy now. Well, not big enough to bathe unsupervised, but I'm getting there.

More pictures and a video (warning: the players suck) after the jump.

Mar 17 2008 More Rejected Star Wars Promotional Goods

jabba-beanbag.jpg

Remember the rejected Star Wars/Pepsi promotional products from a couple months ago? Well it turns out there was a whole bunch more! And here they are. Woo-wee! Who wouldn't want a Jabba bean bag couch, Bantha slippers, cockpit sun-shield, or Star Wars-universe mounted animal heads? Not me! I want several of these pretty badly. And now I would like to offer anyone who can make out with a chick (one without a mustache) on a Jabba beanbag chair $10,000 for the picture proving it.* We'll call it the Fat Chance: Not Even A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away Contest. You know, because it won't happen. And if it does, well, the chick has really low standards. Or is a freak. Either way, give her my number when you're done Hutting it.

*$10,000 not included.

MUST SEE GALLERY OF ALL THE OTHER PRODUCTS AFTER THE JUMP.

Dec 26 2007 Robotic Foosball Table Built For A Class

robot-foosball.jpg

A team went and built a robotic foosball table for those times when nobody wants to play with you. It was done for a college course and takes up a lot of space. "The premise is simple: servos coupled with a micro-controller operate the arms of the table, while a camera above the action monitors the game, including the location of the ball and the opponents moves, then processes that information using a custom AI." Not bad work, but they should have used belts instead of gears to cut down on the thing's footprint. Still a good start though considering it was done for a class. God knows the only thing I did for college courses was get high as shit and wander into the wrong classroom.

A video of the table in action after the jump.

Aug 16 2007 Executive Foosball Coffee Table

executive-foosball.jpg

Looks can be deceiving. Take for example this foosball table. You're probably thinking to yourself, "Well that is simply the most awesome foosball table I have ever seen." And I'm with you on that, I was thinking the exact same thing when I first saw it. There's just two problems. 1. It cost $6,700, and 2. It's freaking tiny! They totally trick you with that picture, what a sham. Anyways, if you have that kind of money to spend on a coffee table, call me and I'll come curl up in front of your couch indefinitely for the same price. I also come in an ottoman model.

One more picture exposing their trickery after the jump.

Aug 9 2007 FIFA '07 Computer Mod

FIFA-Computer.jpg

This computer was made for an Electronic Arts FIFA '07 competition that took place in Germany, the winner taking home the rig. All I can see is that it's pretty freaking awesome. I mean it has a miniature foosball table on top - you can't beat that. I've got tons of respect for this guy, because I know how difficult good computer modding can be. My last project turned out less like a sweet computer case and more like a pile of particleboard and computer parts in the corner of my bedroom that the cats like to pee on.
