Feb 25 2009 End Of The World Perspective Street Art

Edgar Mueller is a 3-D street artist like Julian Beever, except he works in paint instead of chalk. This is one of three massive, street-filling pieces by Edgar (other two after the jump). Oh man, just look at that car in the back -- that thing is going nowhere! . Also, what kind of parents let their child play on the edge of a precipice like that? Awesome ones, that's who.
Hit the jump for two different ones and a 'making of' video.

Feb 23 2009 Beats From The Dark Side: AT-AT Boombox

I have no more information on this thing except it looks like a functional boombox in the form factor of an AT-AT. Really makes me want to throw down a piece of cardboard and break. That's breakdance for those of you not in the know. Uh, wicka-pow! You see that move? That was fresh, was it not? So fresh. And these beats -- it's like they were harvested from the beat-bush this morning. Quick, somebody drop one for me!
My name is Geekologie and I am full of knowledge-yI drop the learnin' like a hookers box the burnin'
Actually, I'm feeling a little burny myself right now
Hold that beat while I find my ointment.
I know, I am the freshest. Seriously, check my expiration date. Haha, that's right -- I don't have one! I scratched it out with a car key because I expired a week ago. I'm getting rancid. Quick, drink me anyways! You puked didn't you? Haha, told you I was rancid. Now one more sip. DO IT!
Hit the jump for a bunch of closeups of the awesomeness.

Nov 20 2008 7-Legged Spider Drawing Sells On eBay

Remember my personal hero David Thorne and his seven-legged spider drawing that was idiotically refused as payment for a $233.95 bill? Well the spider just sold on eBay -- for $10,000. And guess who won? This guy. *pointing at self* Ow, my eye. But yeah, I thought about just printing out a copy of the drawing, but then decided that would be immoral. Because I don't steal things -- except women's hearts! I keep them in a cooler full of ice and sell them on the black market. "Hearts! Get your hearts here! Also, ice cold beer."
UPDATE: Somebody on eBay is now selling accessories for seven and eight-legged spider drawings. Hit the jump to see their Santa hat and Buddhist's robe.
Sep 16 2008 YES!: Princess Peach Cosplay Costume

Jenni Källberg, aka Pixelninja, aka the hottie that made and posed in the two Samus Aran suits, aka my future wife, aka my future ex-wife, is back at it -- this time with a Princess Peach cosplay costume. As you can see, it looks great, and so does Jenni (who is half Swedish and half Japanese). Wow, the things I would do to her. Like rescue.
Hit the jump for a whole bunch more of Jenni as Princess Peach, a couple of which include Racoon Mario, who I should have edited out.
Jul 23 2008 Wicked Stop-Motion Video From PES
We've seen some pretty wicked stop-motion videos in the past, and even some by the same director as this one. And, well, this is his latest, entitled Western Spaghetti. It's about cooking spaghetti and is amazingly well done. I'd totally eat that. Mmm, rubber bands and yarn, now that's eating like a king.
Seriously, watch the video -- you'll be amazed, and, if you're anything like me, depressed at your own level of creativity.

Jun 9 2008 The 3G iPhone Is Here, Fanboys Rejoice And Start Waiting Outside Apple Stores, I Get Drunk And Try To Forget About Life Like Any Other Day

Well folks, after months of rumors and speculation, Apple officially announced the new 3G iPhone today at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. It has exactly everything everyone thought it would. Well, except when I thought it was going to be a 3D iPhone. Because it doesn't have that. Everything else though, like 3G speed and GPS. The only real news is the price -- $199 for an 8GB, $299 for 16GB. And as an added bonus, the 16 is also available in white. Oh happy day! They'll all be available starting July 11th, so I'm headed up to the closest Apple store to start my month-long camp out. And by "start my month-long camp out" I mean I'll plow my car into the front of the line right before the store opens so I can be first. And by "plow my car into the front of the line right before the store opens" I mean continue lying on the couch. And by "continue lying on the couch" I quite literally mean I'm just gonna keep lying here.
Jan 18 2008 HDR Images Of Japan Are Beautiful, Stunning

My wife has been into HDR photography for awhile now, so I've seen some pretty awesome examples of what you can do with HDR. For those of you that aren't familiar with High Dynamic Range photography, it's pretty neat. Basically you take several photos of the exact same scene using different exposure values. That way you get photos that have the darkest darks, and other with the lightest lights. Then you combine the photos (Photoshop even has an option for this) and presto, High Dynamic Range. A lot of the pictures turn out unworldly, and I think they look like they were rendered for a video game. I have a few examples of my own that I'd show you, but they're private photos. Literally, pictures of my privates.
Hit continue for a bunch more awesome HDR images around Japan, along with a link to Flickr's Japan HDR photo pool. I think the last picture of the truck is unbelievable.
