Nov 13 2009 I'll Be The Prettiest Girl At The Ball And Everyone Will Notice Me!: LED Dress

led-dress.jpg

Just to let this chick know that her LED wedding dress doesn't hold a lumen to a REAL LED dress, somebody went and created the GalaxyDress, which is being touted as the world's biggest LED-covered dress. Yay? Hip hop hooray? Ho -- hey -- ho. I'M NAUGHTY BY NATURE!

The GalaxyDress was constructed using 24,000 LED lights and, to add an extra bit of glitter, another 4,000 Swarovski crystals were included in the silk garment's design.

The dress is currently on display at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry as part of the FastForward: Inventing the Future exhibit.

Funny story about inventing the future: God did it. There used to only be past and present when he thought to himself, "God, you know what would be super sweet? Flying cars". POOF!: the future. This is the word of the Geekologie Writer. Boomshackalacka.

Nov 3 2009 Because I Love You (But Mostly For Myself): Stunning Princess Zelda Cosplay Gallery

zelda-1.jpg

These pictures have probably been around for a little while because I remember seeing a couple little ones way back in this post (mind like a steel trap, baby), but I'd never seen the full set. WELL HERE IT IS. Per cosplayer Lillyxanda:

I knew I wanted to be Princess Zelda when I played the original Legend of Zelda game back on Nintendo in 1987...it took me 18 years but i finaly got around to it. The illustrator Yusuke Nakano did'nt hold back when drawing the new designs for Princess Zelda. The designs are saturated in details for these grown up classic characters. I was feeling ambitious and decided to try and replicate the design. I had the honor of posing with the best Link cosplayer Pikminlink in some of these photos.

Hit the jump for like 15 more. No need to thank me. I mean, unless you're rich. Then you can thank me with money. Contact me for my bank account info. BUT NO NIGERIAN PRINCES. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and I'm one plane ticket to Africa away from WHIPPING YOUR ASS.

Your princess awaits....

Oct 26 2009 Do Tetrads Make Me Look Fat?: Tetris Dress

tetris-dress-1.jpg

This is a Tetris themed dress created by Erin, the writer of A Dress A Day. I would totally wear it, and I don't even care who sees me, provided nobody sees me. Then, I'll take pictures of myself and leak them on the internet. I am such a pretty girl!

Hit the jump for a shot of the back and a closeup of décolletage area. Yes I know what that is!

Sep 18 2009 Good Lookin': Mario-Insired Eveningwear

mario-1.jpg

This is a line of Mario-inspired sparkling eveningwear by designer and crafster user montyfull. Nice, but where were these designs when I went to prom 10 years ago? I make sparkles look good!

So I'm a fashion major. Graduated in 2007, and just NOW got around to uploading pics of my stuff! I'm an avid gamer for life. Shooters, RPGs, PC, nintendo, Xbox... I'll play anything if I can afford it. Smiley I also don't like to take myself too seriously, so I decided that my senior collection was going to be mario eveningwear. Ya know, lots of sequins, duchess satin, chiffon, coupled with the crazy icons we know and love.

I, for one, am not ashamed to admit I'd rock the hell out of any of these designs. Plus, I'd even tape my penis to my leg. BECAUSE I'M A LADY.

Hit the jump for a close-up of the Mario face one complete with NES controller garter belt.

Jul 22 2009 Robot Built To Model Wedding Dresses

robo-bride.jpg

'Miimu', a HRP-4C robot, is seen here being utilized as a runway model for Japanese fashion designer Yumi Katsura's line of bridal gowns. And, since I know women so well, I'll give you men a little insight into how their minds work.

"I really love this dress -- but how would it look on a robot?"
Which brings up another disconcerting thought -- robot marriage. And you know what's sad? They'll probably allow unholy robotic matrimony before gay marriage. And that, my friends, makes me want to blow up the moon. And I don't even care if it's delicious cheese.

It's a nice day for a robot wedding [metro]

Thanks to Doctor Steel and Graf Zeppelin, who together form Doctor Graf Steel Zeppelin, which, you know, is pretty cool.

Jul 8 2009 Potentially Dangerous: The 120-Zipper Dress

zipper-dress-1.jpg

The 120-Zipper dress from designer Sebastian Errazuriz may or may not actually have 120 zippers (it doesn't), but is cool nonetheless. I mean, I wouldn't wear it, but I've had too many zipping accidents. You see this? Button fly....okay, or possibly me naked. What? SOMETIMES I FORGET WHAT I'M WEARING.

What might be most remarkable about this design is how quickly it can shift from elegant to sexy, a full-length, single-piece dress one could potentially wear to work into a skimpy, short-cut, two-piece number that could put some bikinis to shame. In between there are any number of other options for shortening the top or bottom or even leaving some zippers partly on and partly off.

I'd go out with you if you wore this. Seriously, and I'd even look past your peg-eye and club foot. At least until I left you for a girl in Velcro. It's a cold hard world baby, and my heart's a Sno-Cone machine.

Hit the jump to see a bunch of the possibilities.

Jun 19 2009 Dress Lights Up To Incoming Cell Phone Calls

cell phone dress.jpg

This is tennis star Mario Maria Sharpova showing off a new dress that lights up whenever you receive a cell phone call. Pfft, the deaf have had this technology for years.

It's the work of British fashion student Georgie Davies, who worked with Sony Ericsson on ways to merge technology and chic threads. "When you're in a pub or a bar, you can never, ever hear your phone," Davies to Reuters. The solution? A short-sleeved, knee-length white dress that's covered shoulder-to-hip with translucent scales that move and blink. Davies plans for the dress to incorporate Bluetooth technology so that it can wirelessly interact with phones.

Yes, light up cell phone clothes, that's just what we need. Because your novelty ringtone isn't bad enough. Mine's straight though. Zelda theme, baby.

Jun 10 2009 I'd Have Never Missed An Episode: What If The Enterprise Was Run By Sexy Ladies?

This is a moderately NSFW video showing what life would be like on the Enterprise if it was partially run by scantily clad womens. Although truthfully, Deanna Troi was more than enough sexy lady/Betazoid hybrid for me. Yow yow! And how about when she and Worf were getting it on? Jun 8 2009 I'd Eat It: A Meatwad Inspired Meat Dress

meatwad 1.jpg

This is a Meatwad (of Aqua teen Hunger Force fame) inspired cosplay dress. As you can see, the chick isn't looking too Meatwad-y. More Meatstick-y. AND THE DRESS IS MADE FROM REAL FREAKING MEAT. AAAAAAAAAAH I'M IN LOVE!

I considered somehow vacuum-sealing sheets of meat with those sealers they have on the markets now, but the machines were too expensive for a one-time-only disposeable dress. I ended up using the K.I.S.S. method of construction, which involved a basic shift dress out of thick cotton. I layed the meat on top, then put clear vinyl over it and sewed tracks with clear thread. I used a wide stitch length to avoid perforating the meat to the point it might just... uh, slide down the bottom of the dress. I also blotted it all before sewing to get rid of as much grease as possible to avoid clouding the vinyl. Lastly, I made sure to bind the bottom of the dress with a strip of clear vinyl to catch drips.

That was hands down the sexiest thing I've ever read. Now I'm not saying I'd make love to this woman just because she made a dress out of meat, but I 100% would. Twice. And then have her make sandwiches out of...you guessed it! I know, I should write fairy tales.

Hit the jump for a couple more shots and a link to Jia Jem's cosplay site which has A TON of other sexy costumes she's made. Literally, a ton. I think I have a new crush.

Apr 6 2009 Cool: PEW PEW Laser Fashion PEW PEW

pew pew 1.jpg

Hussein Chalayan is a fashion *PEW PEW!* designer I've never heard of, but that's *PEW PEW!* okay because there are probably only a handful of names I would *PEW PEW!* recognize anyway. Unlike The Superficial Writer who, *PEW PEW!*, can rattle off their names and collections faster than you a normal man can *PEW PEW!* fire up a chainsaw. In this particular showcase, now to be known as The PEW PEW! Collection, Husssein had engineer Moritz Waldemeyer add servo-driven *PEW PEW!* lasers to the dresses. Nice, guys. As you can see, the *PEW PEW!* dresses are sure to be a big *PEW PEW!* hit at raves. Unfortunately, you may never *PEW PEW!* see one because I'm suing the pants (!) off Chalayan. You see, I burnt my *PEW PEW!* retinas out trying to score an upskirt shot.

Hit the *PEW PEW!* jump for a bunch *PEW PEW!* more.

Feb 9 2009 Ties: Because Your Neck Deserves A Flag

8-bit-ties.jpg

These $25 ties are made out of 100% synthetic materials, feature classic video game scenes, and can be purchased from a tribe of warrior women. Plus, they're absolutely perfect for the tech blogger who wants to pretend he's a businessman. I'll admit it: I love playing dress up. I have three older sisters so I spent much of my youth parading around the house in a dress with makeup caked all over me. Ahh, those were the days. Now I lay around the apartment in my boxers and have to wait for my girlfriend to go to work before I can even put one of her bras on. It's stifling -- and, damnit, she wore my favorite pumps to work today.

Dec 29 2008 Sexy Kinetic Dresses Respond To Stimuli

Walking City is a fashion collection by designer Ying Gao that includes three dresses that respond to different stimuli. The one in this video has a proximity detector. So when you get near it starts opening its little flower-looking accouterments. Pretty freaky looking. There's another video after the jump of a dress that blows itself up whenever a wind sensor is set off. The third one sucks so I'm not going to mention it. Sadly, none are as cool as the dress that turns into a naked woman. Which, as far as fashion goes, is the boner.

Hit it for the other one.

Dec 8 2008 'Tis The Season: For A Sexy Cosplay Gallery

cosplay-1.jpg

No need to thank me folks, I ambushed Santa at Wal-Mart (the one ringing the bell outside) and stole his present bag. Inside? A bunch of cosplay pictures -- the bearded old man's a perv! Anyways, I've decided to share them with you, since it's the season of giving or whatever. There's a bunch more video game chicks after the jump, most of which are more scantily clad than Zelda, but none sexier. Are you still reading this shit? Hit the gallery already, this is just filler. Oh, and follow the link for a lot more, in higher resolution.

Sep 16 2008 YES!: Princess Peach Cosplay Costume

peach-1.jpg

Jenni Källberg, aka Pixelninja, aka the hottie that made and posed in the two Samus Aran suits, aka my future wife, aka my future ex-wife, is back at it -- this time with a Princess Peach cosplay costume. As you can see, it looks great, and so does Jenni (who is half Swedish and half Japanese). Wow, the things I would do to her. Like rescue.

Hit the jump for a whole bunch more of Jenni as Princess Peach, a couple of which include Racoon Mario, who I should have edited out.

Sep 3 2008 Woman Gets Confusing Box Of LEGO Parts

dressup-lego-1.jpg

So Jenny, The Bloggess, got a box in the mail from LEGO to celebrate their anniversary or a new line or something. But when she opened the box and pieced together the parts they formed....an army of trannies! Despite a plethora of the pink dress tops and female haircuts, not a single head lacked that handsome red mustache perched suggestively over a frown. What did LEGO have to say about this?

Each kit was supposed to contain an assortment of random parts; however, it looks like yours somehow consisted only of angry mustache faces. Please know that this was not at all done intentionally or to freak anyone out in any way.

First of all, where the f*** was my box of trannies, LEGO? And secondly, I'm not so much "freaked out" as intrigued to what LEGO is secretly doing. Are they trying to teach children an important lesson about diversity and acceptance? Because that would be awesome. And, as a guy who's no stranger to trying on his girlfriend's panties while she's at work, I've got to admit: thongs make me feel sexy!

Hit the jump for a closeup so you can see them better.

Apr 10 2008 Skirt Mousepad Cover Is Disturbing, Fetishy

skirt-mouse.jpg

I don't even know what to say about this. It's a jean skirt that you put your mouse and mousepad into. That way when you're computing it looks like you have your hand up a skirt and you're clicking around like a crazy person. What in the hell are the matter with these people? Whoever makes these things is freaking nuts. I mean, come on. A lightweight polyester-blend I could understand, but denim? Ridiculous. And sick.

Another picture of the thing in use after the jump.

Jan 24 2008 I'm In Love With The Day-To-Night Solar Dress

awesome-dress.jpg

Well we've posted unusual dresses (must watch if you haven't seen it before) and solar bikinis here in the past, and now there's a solar dress making its way down the runway.

The Day-For-Night dress is a modular, reconfigurable dress comprised of 448 white circuit boards (although the number changes as the dress can get longer or shorter). Each tile is designed in such a way as to accommodate a solar cell, a RGB LED, or a photocell, and jumper connectors (in the form of 0 Ohm resistors). A control board provides power, communicates with the tiles, and links to a computer via RF. The dress is completely modular both in terms of software and hardware.

To be honest I have no idea what that means because I didn't bother reading it. I just copied and pasted it there with the hope that it would make sense and answer any questions you may have. I apologize, but I've been preoccupied with staring at the picture. I think I'm in love with that model. She's just the way I like my women -- leggy, scantily clad, and faceless from the nose up. Yow Yow!! Did I really just yell that? You're damn right I did, and I meant it.

Day-for-Night solar dress turns on more than just light bulbs [dvice]
