Oct 20 2009 I Would Munch Those Dots: A Pac-Man Cake

This is a Pac-Man cake created by CupcakeJonas for an undisclosed Pac-Man fan. Some suspect it was Pac-Man himself but that's ridiculous because....actually, I bet it was him. Dude does have a big mouth and love sweets. That's why he doesn't have any teeth! Now I have no idea if that Pac-Man arcade cabinet is actually edible, but I would 100% take a bite out of it anyways. I don't care if it has razor blades in the middle, I am curious and not a cat!

Oct 7 2009 Oldschool Destruction: Rampage In Real Life
This is a video of the oldschool classic Rampage in real life, brought to you by the same angry bald man that produced the real life Paperboy (but not the movie). I chuckled. But I did NOT upchuck, even though I did two nights ago. That was the night I walked into the restroom at a bar and caught a guy standing at the pisser trying to blow a snot rocket on the wall above the urinal. So you know what I did? I waited till he was done pissing THEN WHIPPED HIS MONKEY ASS. Being gross: don't do it around me.
Sep 1 2009 Sandwormy: Dune Scene In LEGO Form

This is a sandworm scene from Dune rendered in LEGO form. I like it, simple but effective. And, not to brag or anything, but I've totally ridden a sandworm to the center of the earth before. It was hot (plus the devil is a real dick), but not as hot as the time I flew a unicorn into the sun. Which, funny story: was hot enough to burn my corn's tail off. He whinnied in pain so I got pissed and punched the sun in the taint for it. And that, my friends, is where night comes from.

Thanks to Coby, who's getting married this weekend. Congratulations -- I'd lend you my unicorn to ride away from the wedding on but now there's nothing to tie the cans to :(
Jul 19 2009 eBay: Piece Of Film From Original Star Trek

Want to own a piece of Star Trek that you can wear around the house like a boa? Then you're in luck, because a man is selling an 11-foot piece of film from the "Mirror, Mirror" episode of the original Star Trek series.
This is a unique, one-of-a-kind item. I was an assistant film editor on the original series of Star Trek and this is an original section of film that came right out of the camera after shooting. This is from the episode "Mirror, Mirror" which aired October 6, 1967. The clipping is 11 feet 7 frames long, about 183 frames total. Pictured on the film is Chekov (Walter Koenig) when he is foiled in his attempt to kill Captain Kirk. The clip follows the fight sequence and includes two different phaser blasts which were hand scribed by me back in 1969.
Starting bid is $500, and I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up selling for a pretty penny. Or a handsome quarter. You hear that? Better luck next time you busted ass nickel!
Thanks to Sigrid, who doesn't need a phaser to know how to rock pew.

Girl Vlogs About Going To Anime Convention Sweet Looking Super Famicon Zelda Mod

Contrary to popular belief (and this sweet white jacket), I am not a medical expert. Apparently that Katsucon chick has some condition. I just thought she was a witch. Please accept this apology for being a dick and feel free to stone me if it makes you feel better. But remember: people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw orgies. Anyway, in chick's place is a Super Famicon decked out Zelda style. It's green in places, gold in others, and has a nice blue glow underneath. Also, a little Master Sword and over 100 comments already.

Feb 23 2009 Yay, Get Your Own Spider Drawing T-Shirt

Like the saying goes, "a picture's worth a thousand words, but a picture of a spider should be worth at least $233.95". I couldn't agree more. And now you can own a t-shirt with the iconic drawing of a spider for only $14.50. Or, you can print this picture out, tape it to an undershirt, and effectively save yourself $14.50. Now I'm not saying that's what you should do, I'm just saying that's what I did -- and I'm a fashionista. Suck it, Karl Lagerfeld, you....you are creepy.
Thanks to jigga, who wears a scorpion-drawing shirt, but it just doesn't have the same appeal. It does, however, have pit-stains.
Aug 4 2008 The Shining: Now With More Robots!
I don't really like scary movies because I pissed myself in the theater during Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and all my friends still make fun of me. But I did happen to see The Shining in my youth. Remember the tricycle scene (if you don't I posted the original after the jump)? Well this is that scene recreated with the only thing that could possibly make it scarier -- robots. Now I'm not gonna say watching it made me pull a Potter here in my cube, but it did. And, uh-oh, I think a little WALL-E might have snuck out as well.

Jul 29 2008 T.I.E. Fighter Model Used In Star Wars: A New Hope On eBay, More Than You Can Afford

Want the T.I.E. Fighter model that was used in Star Wars: A New Hope? The one that hit Vader's ship? Well now you can, it's on eBay.
903. Original T.I.E. Fighter filming miniature and original camera reports from Star Wars: A New Hope. (TCF, 1977) During the nail-biting assault on the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, this is the actual filming miniature of the T.I.E. Fighter that bumps into Darth Vader's fighter knocking him out of the trench, allowing Luke to destroy the Death Star. This historic piece is from the collection of Academy Award-winning Visual Effects wizard, Richard Edlund. The design concepts for the T.I.E. (Twin Ion Engine) Fighters of the Galactic Empire originally came from Colin Cantwell and Ralph McQuarrie. Joe Johnston, who was the visual effects art director and overall storyboard artist for the entire trilogy was very involved in the final finessing of the ships and Death Star designs. Only four T.I.E. Fighters were built for the first Star Wars film. Grant McCune, head of the model shop, used a fairly heavy but stable resin for the body of the ship and other resins for the tinier parts. It has a central hollow aluminum knuckle with six-way threadings for top, bottom, front, back, left and right side mounting options with 11/16 in. hollow threaded rods as wiring conduits which attached to the various self-lit neon blue pylons. The hexagonal wings are created of fine expanded metal sheeting. Much of the intricate design detail was robbed from plastic model kits, then modified and affixed.
Unfortunately, the little thing is only 18" H x 14" W, so there goes using it as a treehouse. So, what can one expect to pay for such a diminutive T.I.E. Fighter? How about $170,000? Yeah. There's never been a better time to kidnap, extort, blackmail, and/or auction your hitman services. I'll start by knocking off The Superficial Writer. Do I hear $10? $5? $1? 2-for-1 Whopper card? Fine cheapskates, but this is your only freebee.

Jun 6 2008 Classic Game Scenes Rendered In LEGO

Here are a bunch of classic video game scenes rendered in LEGO. As you can see, that's Duck Hunt there, and there's some Mortal Kombat, Contra, Castlevania, and Excitebike after the jump. I must say, they're all very well done and beautiful to look at. Not as beautiful as a naked chick mind you, but what is? Exactly, nothing. Even a naked chick with a penis isn't that bad if you squint your eyes and shake your head a bit.

May 28 2008 Bubble Man Bedroom From Mega Man 2

This is the bedroom of a Mega Man fanboy who painted it look like Bubble Man's level from Mega Man 2.
This is what the bedroom of my old apartment looked like. Three months of measuring, stenciling, painting, and retouching well spent!
The guy that did it also does covers of Mega Man songs, so you can go to his myspace music page here if that's your scene. If that's not your scene we could always just hang out in the food court at the mall and make fun of people. Now don't get me wrong -- I love Mega Man just as much as the next kid who grew up in the 80's and whose parents used the NES as a babysitter, but this just isn't for me. Zelda bedroom, sure. But I think we can all agree a Zelda themed room would be the baddest ass thing ever, and wouldn't handicap your chances of scoring with the ladies. This one probably does. Dude must have a member the size of an RV.

May 21 2008 Promo Vid: How Not To Sell Microcontrollers
I found this promotional video for Texas Instruments' new MSP430 Ultra Low Power Microcontroller particularly funny because I used to work for the company. *TI stock plummets* Basically it's two monster geeks showing how you can run the thing on different fruits (just like the potato clock you made when you were six). However, the main reason I posted it is because it has an awesome scene that starts at 1:20.
Blue Guy: Now if you're watching this on Youtube feel free to respond with your own interesting power sources for the MSP430.
Red Guy: I can tell you a martini works wonderfully.
Blue Guy: But you didn't drink that martini right?
Red Guy: Nooo, of course not, that would violate TI policy. *smile disappears, looks down and contemplates killing himself in the middle of a Texas Instruments promo video*
Freaking classic.
