Nov 24 2008 That's What I Call Shiny: A Chrome Bugatti

chrome-b-1.jpg

We've seen chromed cars in the past, but quite frankly (can I call you Frankly?), those just weren't as shiny as this Bugatti Veyron. Maybe they went for the economy chrome job, but whatever the case, they lacked the mirror-like sheen of this summabitch. I mean, you could snort drugs off the hood of this thing. You know, or a CD case. But if you are doing your drugs off the back of a cracked CD case, chances are you probably don't have the money to be doing drugs. And your connection probably sucks. I guess what I'm getting at is this: you're snorting laxatives.

Hit the jump for four more of the shiny-shiny.

Sep 2 2008 Google Chrome Beta Dropping Today

google-chrome.jpg

Google, in its attempt to dominate all markets, is launching a line of automotive rims today, Google Chrome. I didn't really read the article, but I'm sure they're expensive and we'll see them in rap videos.

EDIT: Ha, turns out Google Chrome is a web browser.

On the surface, we designed a browser window that is streamlined and simple. To most people, it isn't the browser that matters. It's only a tool to run the important stuff -- the pages, sites and applications that make up the web. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go.

Under the hood, we were able to build the foundation of a browser that runs today's complex web applications much better. By keeping each tab in an isolated "sandbox", we were able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites. We improved speed and responsiveness across the board. We also built a more powerful JavaScript engine, V8, to power the next generation of web applications that aren't even possible in today's browsers.

Sure, okay, but why did they call it chrome?

We named the program Chrome because The Geekologie Writer posted a sweet-ass chromed Lamborghini last week and that shit was dope. Also, Icewolf sounded stupid.

Icewolf sounded stupid? You people are crazy. That's the awesomest freaking name I've heard in a while.

A fresh take on the browser

Thanks to George and Austin, who don't need web browsers because the web browses them.

Aug 28 2008 A Chrome Lamborghini: Sure To Turn Heads, Blind Other Motorists And Cause Accidents

chrome-lamb-1.jpg

First the gold Porsche, then the Burberry Maserati and chrome Ferrari, and now, another chrome-dome, but this time a Lamborghini Murcielgo LP640. And it's for sale here if you want it, but it'll set you back around 622,000 coconuts. Which, if you were the professor, would make one helluva lot of radios. And speaking of coconuts, fun fact: coconut milk, despite its name, doesn't come from a woman's teat. Long story short: my girlfriend tricked me into getting her pregnant.

Hit the jump for several more of the shiny speed demon.

Nov 6 2007 Magazine Holding Wastebasket For The Can

magazine-waste-basket.jpg

Designer Stephen Hauser aka Snowtone has created the Snowtone Wastebasket. It's a trashcan for the bathroom that holds a magazine on top, so you can read hands-free. It was designed because resting a magazine on your lap makes your penis disappear. Sure it's just on the other side of a magazine, but I for one like to keep visual contact with my unit at all times, lest he try to escape his beating.

Nov 1 2007 Calculator Prevents Indecent Exposure

The Chrome Calculator Belt Buckle ($10) is almost exactly what it sounds like. The only thing they failed to mention is that it also serves as an incredibly effective chastity device. You can put it on either way (numbers up or down), so that you can use it, or someone else can do the number punching for you. It's pretty f'ing dorky, but I got one anyways. I like to keep a real close eye on my secretary when she's calculating expense reports.
