Apr 3 2009 Geekologie Writer Quoted On CakeWrecks

pew pew cake.jpg

Well, this is the part of the day when I toot my own horn because nobody else will touch it, no matter how much money or free ShamWow I offer. So, the cakewrecks blog (a personal favorite of mine) quoted me in a post about nose cakes yesterday. I'm "that guy from Geekologie". WOOT! I've made it -- I've finally made it! *wipes tear* You see that, dad? And you always said I'd never amount to anything! What? I told you, your rent money is coming! Fix my sink already, God. Also, could you float me a $20 -- I wanna go to the mall.

Thanks to Whitney and Melodious Monk for pointing out the PEW.

Nov 9 2008 Microsoft Running Slave Camp In China (J/K Microsoft, Please Keep Advertising With Us)

microsoft-work-bus.jpg

Microsoft bought a bus and now offers free transportation to and from work for some of its employees in China. The only catch? You have to sit at a workstation. Good if you like reading email and catching up on the day's news, bad if there's a sweaty man with a whip behind you demanding productivity. Seriously, the last thing I want to do on the way to work is work. If I found myself having to blog in the car I'd drive straight off a bridge -- and into your heart! Here, I got you a promise ring.

Jun 17 2008 F1RST! Shirt Lets People Know Things

f1rst-1.jpg

The F1RST! shirt from Busted Tees costs $15 and let's everyone know you're one of those people. You know, the kind that wears printed novelty shirts. And likes posting FIRST in blog comments sections. AND that you have some fundamental understanding of where babies come from (storks, yo). Hey, whatever floats your boat. I think the FIRST! thing is a little sophomoric myself, but as long as you read Geekologie, you're still okay in my book. Just please, don't do it on this post.

A picture of a chick wearing the shirt (which makes it look a lot better than that dude), after the jump.

Jan 25 2008 Geekologie: 2008 Tech Blog Of The Year

bloggies.jpg

Well by divine miracle (and my l33t haxoring) Geekologie has been nominated for a Bloggie in the 2008 Best Computers or Technology category. I would like to thank you all for your support and urge you to take a trip over to the Bloggies website and cast a vote for Geekologie. As you can see we're up against some pretty stiff competition. Real stiff. Stiff as hell. The big dogs. But like that story in the bible where the one little dude eats six dozen eggs and a gallon of milk to beat the other bigger dude in the eating contest, you never know.

And if by some fluke Geekologie does win I hereby swear I'll pound an entire fifth of bourbon and convince my girlfriend to have a threesome. I'll even take pictures. Hell, I may even hire Sears Portrait Studio -- after all, this is the bigtime. Now get out there and vote so we can stick it to the man. And by 'the man' I mean my father. He still thinks I'm just some loser that lives in the basement and steals his beer.
