Oct 26 2009 Lookin' Gooood: Star Wars: Uncut Trailer
For those of you who don't know, Star Wars: Uncut is a fan film being made in which Star Wars: A New Hope is divided into 15-second increments and a different fan is responsible for making those 15 seconds of the movie. It's a very cool concept. And this is the very cool trailer for the film, which I think we can all agree, has summer blockbuster George Lucas panty-bunch written all over it. Don't hate, George!
Thanks to bert, Nate, Tim, Will, josh, edo8, and everyone else who sent this in, the force is with you. Plus Casey, the man behind the whole operation. Good lookin', Casey.
Oct 13 2009 It's Just So....Beautiful: Amazing Sand Art
This is the winner of the hit television series Ukraine's Got Talent, Kseniya Simonova, showing off her sand manipulating skills. And let me tell you, it's impressive. Almost as impressive as the time I made a three-bucket sandcastle at the beach before the ocean washed it away. DAMN YOU, POSEIDON, YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME!
Thanks to Joemo, Misa, Harriet and naas, who have all kicked sand in an opponent's face during a fistfight.
Sep 29 2009 Super Mario 2 With Hardcore Commentary
NOTE: Video is NSFW due to language.
This is a video of some guy playing Super Mario 2 with running hardcore commentary. I thought it was pretty funny. And the couple of people that I sent it to thought it was pretty funny too. But hey, maybe you'll think it's stupid. That's cool, you can't please everybody. And trust me, I've tried. Remember that 2007 Geekologie Gangbang? There were a lot of you guys just standing around all awkward-like. Sorry.
Super Mario Bros. 2 played by someone Hardcore [poetv]
Thanks to JDarkside, who lives HER whole life hardcore cause that's all she knows.
Sep 17 2009 Unlimited Possibilities: LEGO Baseplate Shirt

The LEGO Brick Construction Shirt from ThinkGeek is a $18 shirt with a LEGO baseplate fashioned to the chest. You can build whatever the hell you want on the front of that bitch. I'm gonna build a functional rocketship on mine!
Take your favorite construction blocks of choice (LEGO™, PixelBlocks, Mega Bloks, K'NEX Bricks™ are all compatible) then start building. You can write messages, incorporate minifigs, build 3-D structures with gears, add motors... the mind boggles. The only limit is your imagination and the amount of weight you can deal with on the front of your shirt.
I figure I'm good for a solid 40lbs of weight on the front of my chest. And not just cause I carried a baby raptor full-term, but I totally did. Sucker burst out of my chest like an alien and ate the cat! I swear, what a little rascal.

Sep 9 2009 Steel Velcro: Because Plastic Is For Sissies

This new steel velcro can support up to 35 tons of pressure and looks ultra-badass. So badass I want a belt made out of it. Yeah, and a headband. Wait, is this stainless steel? Cause I can't have no rust juice dripping in my eyes!
Developed by German engineers, this new version of Velcro is dubbed Metaklett, and it can support 35 tons at temperatures up to 1472 degrees. It's made from "perforated steel strips 0.2 millimetres thick, one kind bristling with springy steel brushes and the other sporting jagged spikes."
I have no idea what sort of industrial uses they have planned for this shit, but that's not important. What IS important is this: Velco is actually a name brand. The generic term for this type of closure is 'hook-and-loop fastener'. If you already knew that, congratulations. If not, I hope I just wasted some space behind your face! I'm talking about in your brain.
Thank you for being a friendTravel down the road and back again
your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant
And if you threw a party,
Invited everyone you knew,
You would see the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say,
Thank you for being a friend.
Haha, I'm just messing with you now.
Jun 6 2009 Ninja Boy Could Use A Few More Lessons
This is ninja boy (think Star Wars boy yet somehow remarkably sadder) filming himself out in the wilderness (read: the local park) pulling off some Rad to the power of Unhealthy ninja moves. It's seven minutes long and BY NO MEANS should you piss away an entire seven minutes of your life watching it all (I did). But he does spice up his maneuvers, so you will want to skip around. And, for as much fun as I want to make of the poor bastard, he could probably kick my ass if I didn't have laser blasters for eyes. But I do. Suck it, ninjard!
Ninja Nerd [liveleak]
Thanks to MoD, who could out-ninja like thirty ninja cats.
May 19 2009 More Than Meets The Eye: Transformer USB Drive Is Awesomest I've Seen In A While

What do you buy for the man who has nothing? While you ponder that nugget of vast intellectuality, I'll tell you about this 2GB Transformer memory stick (which is way better than these ones). Probably the awesomest USB drive I've seen in forever, the unit transforms from a normal looking USB ding-dongle into Ravage, a fierce jungle cat Decepticon (which some believe to be a dog, WHICH HE IS NOT YOU WILL NOT RUIN MY CHILDHOOD). Available fro pre-order from the BigBadToyStore, this piece of badassery will set you back $43 and ships in September. But the question remains: shouldn't you avoid trusting a Decepticon with your porno?*
*Does Optimus Prime piss transmission fluid and wipe his ass with corrugated steel?**
**Bumblebee says so!

Thanks to Tank and Julian, who once convinced a Decepticon it was human and then broke its heart with a backhoe.
Aug 22 2008 Vulcanus Casemod Weighs More Than Yours

The Vulcanus casemod was designed by Czech blacksmith Sergej and forged in the depths of hell. The whole freaking thing is made from hammered steel weighs in at over 110 lbs. Impressive, Sergej, but not as impressive as my case. It's a little something I like to call my PB Case. Get it, instead of PC it's PB because I made it out of lead. Oh, hold on. Damnit Jack, what did I tell you about chewing on daddy's computer? That's right, it's delicious. Now let your sister have a bite.
Hit the jump for some closeups that really show the thing off, along with a video that reminds me of a satanic porno I watched in high school.

Jun 19 2008 A Villain Chair For Plotting World Domination

The Villain Chair is made by SUCK UK and is perfect for planning world domination, but versatile enough to relax in and do the Sunday crossword. Made with genuine leather, chrome, steel and aluminum, the damn thing costs $7,200. Yeah, $7,200 and you don't even get to beat the shit out of it with a sledgehammer. Talk about a ripoff. While I do appreciate a good villain chair, I'll just stick to my bone throne for the time being. After all, you can't spell "world domination" without hot wings.
Thanks Rachel, my tattered desk chair has never felt so inadequate
Feb 5 2008 Portable XBox 360 Elite Laptop Is Legit

Benjamin Heckendorn aka Ben Heck has done it again, this time modding an Elite laptop to include an XBox 360.
The portable Xbox 360 features a Halo 3 theme, and is based on the Elite’s internals. Under the hood, the laptop offers a 120GB hard drive, the new 65nm CPU, and a special direct DMI-to-DVI connection which keeps the video signal digital all the way to the laptop’s ample 17-inch LCD screen.
It also has a built-in Xbox Live camera and is pretty much the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. So Ben, I was thinking maybe sometime you and I could get together and hang out. You know, shoot the bull, maybe watch you build me one of these. Of course I'd pay for it. And by pay for it I mean convince my sister to sleep with you.
A couple more pictures, a video, and a link to Ben's build page after the jump.

Jan 24 2008 LEGO Star Wars Steampunk Contest Is Rad

A week or two ago someone sent a tip about the LEGO Star Wars Steampunk contest, and I forgot all about it. So whoever that was let me know, and I'll give you the proper credit you're due. Anyways, there's a contest going on over at the FTBD (From Bricks to Bothans) forums until the end of the month where you steampunkify a vehicle from Star Wars and post it for judging. The entries have been rolling in, and some of the creations are absolutely ridiculous. These people have got some serious imaginations and LEGO building talent. It's weird how that works -- some people are good at some things and others are good at other things. Like these people are great at constructing wicked steampunk Star Wars vehicles, and I'm good at, well, sucking at life.
Hit the jump for a bunch more vehicles and make sure to check out the link to the contest page for all the bad-assness.
