Dinosauria Hatching Egg Ornament [nerdapproved]
Thanks to Naja, who better have gotten me a season pass to Jurassic Park.
Nov 10 2009 Cute: 'LEGO My Apple' MacBook Stickers

Want to make it look like a LEGO minifig is entranced by the glowing apple on your MacBook? Well you're in luck, thanks to this $14 decal. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GET ANY AIR BUBBLES UNDERNEATH IT. That's like a death sentence for a sticker. And a death sentence for a blogger? Pants. Also, standing for long periods. It makes me so dizzy!
Hit the jump for several other MacBook decals, including Snow White, Pac-Man and Mario.
Nov 5 2009 Last Halloween Post, Swear: AT-AT Costumes
Geekologie Reader Robert went and lovingly handcrafted an AT-AT costume for his miniature pincher. This is a video of the handsome little devil parading around and trying to eat the mask. CUUUUUUTE! And, as an added bonus, I included a video of an impressive two-man AT-AT costume after the jump. SO DON'T SAY I NEVER GAVE YOU ANYTHING. Besides that rash, which, admit it, kind of looks like a heart.
Hit the jump for the two-man human version.

Oct 29 2009 A-Ha!: So THAT'S How Twins Are Made

This is a cute pair of twins rocking Mac copy/paste shirts. There's a shot of twin boys after the jump wearing the Microsoft equivalent. Honestly, did you know this was how twins were made? Because I didn't. I just thought you had to do it twice in a row!
Hit the jump for the boys.
Oct 29 2009 Uh-Oh: Another Little Running, Jumping Robot
ROPID is a little robot created by Robo Garage (burn it down with an oily rag!) whose name combines the words 'robot' and 'rapid'. Very clever. Or should I say vever? I'm gonna stick with very clever. Anyway, this is a video of ROPID showing off his moves at a press conference. He (sometimes) responds to voice commands and can run (which technically isn't running, just walking fast), dance and jump. Plus look kinda cute. There, I said it -- just because you hate something with all your heart doesn't mean you can't find it beautiful. Take Edward Cullen for example.
ROPID Can Jump And Run, Almost [botjunkie]
Thanks to partychancer, fabian, Xkrimeg, Richthegringo, Harsh and Mira, who aren't ashamed to admit they've thought about what it would be like to be with a robot romantically. Bad move, guys -- burn them at the stake!
Oct 21 2009 Tiny North American Dino Discovered, I Want
You see that handsome little devil Steven Spielberg's holding? That's a Fruitadens haagarorum, the smallest dino ever discovered in North America. I want a million of them. No, even more than that.
The newly identified creature weighed less than two pounds and stood about 4 inches tall. From head to tail, it measured a little over 2 feet long, said Luis Chiappe, director of the Dinosaur Institute of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County where the fossil bones are stored.
It likely ate plants and hunted bugs during the late Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago. It was so tiny and fast that it probably darted between the legs of larger dinosaurs, researchers said. The dinosaur "would have looked like a roadrunner on steroids," Chiappe said.
Oh man, can you actually imagine a roadrunner on steroids? That poor coyote.

Thanks to zerv, who asked if I have a size cut off which was rude because I DON'T DISCRIMINATE AGAINST LITTLE PEOPLE WHY WOULD I DINOS?
Oct 17 2009 Almost Cute, Almost: A Robot In Love
This is a little video entitled 'Robot In Love' that features a little robot named Bit Beat putting the moves on his woman. I don't want to spoil it for you, but he sadly doesn't get destroyed by a powerful burning laser in the end. Just wait for the break-up, little robot, she'll get ya.
Thanks to Oscar, who has never fallen in love with a machine because automatic coffee makers don't count. What about self-cleaning litterboxes? I need a ruling.
Oct 8 2009 Wow, That Was Sad: Tree Electrocutes Itself
This is a video of a tree which, unable to cope with the unruly birds and squirrels that have taken up residence in its branches, has decided to off itself with the help of a nearby power line. It's almost as painful to watch as your apartment building going up in flames because you were trying to grow pot in your closet. Almost. NOT THAT I'D KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THAT. Pfft, I went to D.A.R.E.!
Tree Electrocutes Self [collegehumor]
Thanks to NUTZBABIE, who I would probably steer clear of.
Oct 5 2009 Little Family Moves Into A Computer Case

Not a real one, silly! You'd have to have a freaking giant computer (or tiny family) for that to happen. What is this, the 50's? No, cause sexual harassment didn't exist back then. Back me up, Mad Men. I love you, Don! I thought that latest cigarette ad campaign of yours was absolutely great -- really killer. See what I did there?! Killer -- like cigarettes! Hire me Don, I have to be around you!
Hit the jump for two more shots of the dollcase.

Sep 17 2009 Tyrannosaurus Rex Ancestor Was Smaller, More Manageable Size (Read: Swooooon)

Turns out the ferocious T-Rex (who, I would like to mention, is a brutal lover) actually started as a tinier, much more manageable size. OMG -- I'm going to grow them in my roommates closet! Also, weed.
About 125 million years ago a tiny version of Tyrannosaurus rex roamed what is now northeastern China. Tiny, that is, by T. rex standards -- you still wouldn't want to meet it face to face. Described by paleontologist Paul Sereno as "punk size," this early predator stood about nine feet tall.
It just seems small compared to the giant T. rex that evolved millions of years later and was as much as 100 times more massive."It really is the blueprint for the later (T. rex) dinosaurs," Sereno said, "it was a blueprint that was scalable."
The Geekologie Writer is currently seeking funding for a dinosaur farm. I will pay both interest and dividends on your investment. If interested, please send non-consecutive, unmarked bills in a Christmas card to:

Sep 14 2009 It Just Makes Sense: Animals With Lightsabers

Animalswithlightsabers.com is a website with a bunch of pictures of animals wielding lightsabers. Because, let's face it: animals and lightsabers go together like waking up and drinking. Or going to bed with a bottle of vodka. It just makes people happy.
Hit the jump for several more of my favorites and another link to the website.

Sep 11 2009 You Look Different: Is That You, R2?

This is definitely NOT the droid I'm looking for. Kidding -- come here you lovable little trashcan, you! Now hump my leg.

Aug 26 2009 I Can't Ever Get Enough: Kitty Om Nom Noms
We've already seen a video of a kitty literally OM NOM NOMing it's food, but guess what? I love kitties (I even heart hairless cats, it's true) so here comes another. Plus, as an added bonus, there are two, count them, TWO kitties in this video. And two times five is ten. And ten, my friends, is one hell of a threesome.
Thanks to josh, who collects little porcelain cats on the window sill in the kitchen because he's your grandma.
Aug 24 2009 Sadness: Father Leaves Copy Of Call Of Duty: World At War For Fallen Soldier Son

So yeah, this is sad. Private Richard Hunt, the 200th U.K. soldier to die in Afghanistan, was buried over the weekend. He would have been 22 yesterday.
His father Phillip, enjoyed playing Call of Duty: World at War with his son. He left a copy of the game at his grave.
"Happy Birthday 'Hunty'. Play you again one day. Dad."
Wow, that tore me up.

Aug 19 2009 Awh: A Sentimental Super Nintendo Tattoo

I would never think to associate video game tattoos with sentimental memories, but apparently it happens.
My Super Nintendo controller tattoo. It says "Mom Mom" because I got it in memory of my grandmother who died 06/08/04. I grew up playing Super Nintendo with her. It's real patchy & I need to get it touched up because that grey color is a b, but it means a lot to me.
That's cute. Now I don't feel so bad about getting a tattoo of my first dog with a Game Boy for a head. *sniff* Miss you, Tetris face.
Super Nintendo Controller Tattoo [fyeahtattoos]
Thanks to Jonah Ray, who got a tattoo of Garfield humping a Dreamcast because it means something to him.
Aug 18 2009 Kid Showing Off His Parallel Parking Skills
This is a short video of a future stunt car driver showing off his parallel parking skills to all the neighborhood ladies (6 and under only, please. Cougars need not apply). Impressive, little guy, but can you, oh I dunno, PERFORM A THREE POINT TURN?!? Because I can't, I failed the driving test four times. The GW: Driving without a license since '96.
Thanks to NEWS TIP!, who may or may not understand what you're supposed to put in the 'Name' box.
Aug 6 2009 My Son Must Have This: Baby Link Outfit

I don't actually have a son, but if I did, he would be wearing this Link costume until he was 15. Doctor's orders! Made by craftster user UpKnitCreek for a friend's baby shower, it is hands down the best thing that's ever been given at a shower. And one time I gave a mother to be's best friend the business. And a rash. Double whammy!
Hit the jump for a couple more shots.

Jul 14 2009 Cats Manipulate People With Their Purrs

So apparently cats can exploit their caretakers to get what they want through the use of a special purr. I can't say I'm surprised, that's a picture of two of my old cats there (rest in peace, guys). One minute they were purring -- and the next I was teaching them how to read!
Researchers at the University of Sussex have discovered that cats use a "soliciting purr" to overpower their owners and garner attention and food.
Unlike regular purring, this sound incorporates a "cry", with a similar frequency to a human baby's.The team said cats have "tapped into" a human bias - producing a sound that humans find very difficult to ignore.
I dunno, I'm not really that big into babies crying. But maybe that's just my fatherly instincts talking. Read: impregnate and run. What can I say -- I'm a nurturer.
Cats 'exploit' humans by purring [bbcnews]
Thanks to FDSY, Sharkey, RealLifeF***up and Ryan, who are all controlled by an entirely different kind of cat.

Jul 3 2009 Cuuuuuuute!: Felt Playstation iPhone Case

This is a felt Playstation iPhone case made by Etsy user rabbitrampage. As you can see (provided you're not rocking dualie eyepatches) it was very well constructed. And whenever she actually has one in stock, it'll run you $20 -- plus another $7 per controller. Still, damn cute. I'd even consider buying one if I didn't just get a new purse.
Hit the jump for a shot of an iPhone exiting the case. Or is it entering? We may never know.

Jun 9 2009 Cuuute!: Hello Kitty 'Castle' Opens In Shanghai

It looks more like a house to me, but like the saying goes, "one man's house is another He-Man's Castle Grayskull". So who am I to argue? BESIDES THE BEST DAMN (MASS) DEBATER MY HIGH SCHOOL EVER SAW! Anyway, this is a Hello Kitty castle that recently opened to the feline loving public in Shanghai, China. I have no idea why, I guess it's like a museum or something. A museum of cuteness! See ladies, I can be sensitive. Even more sensitive than old people teeth. But I can still eat ice cream. I'll be at the parlor, call me.
Hit the jump to see several more of the cat ladyness.
