This is a short video entitled 8-Bit Trip that is a tribute to 8-bit video games made entirely out of LEGO blocks. Personally, I would have gone with a 16-Bit Trip, but I like good visuals (one time I saw the face of Loki from Super Ghouls n' Ghosts come out of a brick wall and try to lick me). A brief explanation of the video:

This is a mashup of the WALL-E trailer set to the audio of the Watchmen trailer, because, well, I don't know why. Shit, people get bored.
I decided to take a crack at what many have done for other films; and set the audio from Watchmen's epic IMAX teaser to scenes from one of my favourite films of all time. So sit back, and enoy WALL•E redone in Watchmen's style!
Not bad. Not super dooper either, but hey, what did you expect? And speaking of expectations -- I have a blind date tonight. Boy, I sure hope she's sporting dual eye patches!

If you haven't seen or heard already, Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy) is releasing a bunch of web cartoon episodes called Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Comedy. This is one of the first, and it's what happens after Mario rescues the princess in Super Mario Bros. Now not to be a soiree shitter, but I kind of expected more. I mean, Princess Peach didn't even lift her dress to reveal she's swinging a monster Hammer Brother down there. Which, admit it, would have been comedy copper, possibly silver. And hot.

Alter Ego, a division of Pendulum Studios, is apparently kicking ass and taking names in the field of 3-D facial animation.
The guys over at AlterEgo have developed proprietary "facial performance software", which combined with special mo-cap hardware, can produce unbelievably real digital faces in record time. Their work has been featured in motion pictures, commercials, animation and video games including Dark Sector and the forthcoming Silent Hill 5.
There's a video after the jump of some faces in action (that I lovingly embedded in high quality so you could get the full effect), which is pretty impressive. So the real question is this: what does this mean for the adult entertainment industry? Because I'll tell you one thing -- I wouldn't be caught dead watching a damn CG porno.

Remember that BBC series Walking With Dinosaurs that featured CG dinosaurs wandering around eating and killing each other? Yeah, the one you'd get good and high before watching. Well now it's a live show, and it's coming on a 2-year tour of the U.S.! Maybe even to a city near you. Oh happy day!
Fifteen roaring, snarling "live" dinosaurs mesmerize the audience and are awe-inspiring as when they first walked the earth. The stars of the show include Tyrannosaurus Rex, Utahraptor, Stegosaurus, and the largest of them, the Brachiosaurus, which is 36 feet tall and 56 feet long from nose to tail.The show depicts the dinosaurs' evolution spanning their entire 200 million year reign. The history of the world is played out with almost cinematic realism, including scenes of the daily interactions between dinosaurs. you will see how carnivorous dinosaurs evolved to walk on two legs, and how the herbivores fended off their more agile predators.
Okay, I know what you're thinking, "Wow, animatronic dinosaurs, big freaking deal. I don't even have kids to take." Well if that's what you thought you're clearly missing the point here. Which, obviously, is this: Sex. with. dinosaurs! Just saying, without a time machine it might be the best chance you've got.

Well after yesterday's exciting Rock-afire Explosion post, a loyal tipster has notified me there's a set for sale on eBay. And it's only $14,000!

Of course, there are a few things about the auction that concern me. For starters, the seller only has 50% positive feedback for the past year. In one instance it was claimed they never sent an item that was paid for.
I Never Received Merchandise- Refund bounced. No Response from Seller
In another, they backed out of purchasing a car.

Ha, the old bait and screwdriver ignition switch, freaking classic. No, but what really worries me is this: I've got the distinct feeling this particular band was used to lure kids into some guy's basement (more pics after the jump). After all, no child can resist free pizza and a couple songs played by the Rock-afire Explosion. And, as I learned years ago, some creepy dude trying to touch your butt doesn't seem all that awkward after watching their performance.

May 9 2008 "Game Over" Stop Motion Animation Is Great
Apparently this video is old. So old in fact that it was first discovered painted on the inside of a cave in France. So, yeah, freaking ancient. But I had never come across it before and it's awesome, so here it is. If you've seen it already and feel the need to type an obligatory "OLD!" in the comments, go right ahead. I'll be the first to congratulate you on your superior internetellect. Then I'll track you down and kill you. Just kidding, I don't care. Anyway, this is a stop motion animation of a bunch of deaths in video games. There's Centipede, Frogger, and several other classics. It is amazingly well done. I'm talking unbelievably good looking. Like my girlfriend. Happy birthday honey! Look, I said something nice about you on the blog for your special day. Of course I meant it, and all the readers know that too. Come take a look at it before I send it out to the interwebs. See, right there -- I implied you're unbelievably good looking. Now you get on in the kitchen and cook yourself a nice cake.

This is a commercial of a human flipbook. Or a shirt flipbook, if you like that better. You can call it whatever you want. It was made for Erbert and Gerbert's Subs. It was made using 150 shirts, patience, and creativity. It's so relaxing and playful. It reminds me of a time before I had to worry about paying child support. Life was so carefree back then. Now it sucks and I'm being evicted. My landlord is such a dick and I can't even afford the medicine for my VD(s). God I'm getting depressed. Someone cheer me up before I have a Drano drinking contest with myself.

Sep 17 2007 Motion Portrait Animates Still Photos
Motion Portrait takes a single photograph and digitizes it while extracting 3D information so that it can be animated. Right now the animation options are pretty limited, and it reminds me of this thing, but I see the potential. Soon you'll be able to take a digital picture of yourself, upload that bad boy to your favorite porno movie, and then watch yourself have the sex your hand can't provide. Oh, and if the picture is any indication of quality, the program does less conversion to CG, and more conversion to smack addict.

Sep 5 2007 Real Life Simpsons House
Fox and Pepsi got together and constructed a real life Simpsons house, then gave it away to the lucky winner of some contest. Sure it happened nearly ten years ago, but I had never seen it. The house is located in Nevada, and reminds me of my dreams when I've eaten fish right before bed. It's pretty awesome, and I'm going to have to make the current owner an offer they can't refuse. A roommate who drinks all day and doesn't clean up after himself.
