Sep 19 2009 Why Not?: Ordering Pizza From Your PS3

ps3-pizza.jpg

Let's be honest with ourselves: we all love pizza. I'm particularly fond of the white variety BUT NOT BECAUSE I'M RACIST (I have a Hispanic friend). I just like the way it tastes in my mouth. Like ice cream, but hot. Anyway, now you can order Papa John's pizzas from you PS3. And you don't even have to go to the internet browser! Because, seriously, that would be way too much thumb exercise. Isn't that right, my opposable little lovers? Now, do that thing that I like so much. Wait! Let me sit on you till you're numb first.

Thanks to chris, who once reheated day-old pizza in his XBox.

Aug 19 2009 Is This The New PS3 Slim? (Yes, Yes It Is)

ps3-slim.jpg

Sorry folks the internette at the hotel was bitchtitting me this morning so I just gave up and came to LaGuardia to post from here. Don't think I forgot about you. I could never. Anyway, I'll post as much as I can before my flight, and Geekologie will return to its regularly scheduled program tomorrow.

Soooooo, this is the new PS3 Slim. The 120GB console will be available the first week in September for a price cutted $299. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL THEY CUT! The unit is 33 percent smaller and 36 percent lighter than its chubs predecessor. So what does this mean for you? It'll be easier to lose. Hell, I even thought the original PS3 was too small to keep track of. WHICH IS WHY I GLUED IT TO THE COUCH.

Thanks to Mr. Tiddles, catch22, Nate and The Superficial Writer, who tape their consoles to cinder blocks. Hey, that works too.

Mar 4 2009 Game Over Man, Game Over!: An Aliens PS3

alien-ps3-1.jpg

Tattoo artist and casemoder 'givintats' went and made himself an Aliens inspired PS3 case. It was created "using hand-sculpted layers of epoxy putty, that looks like a hard metal when dried, often used to mend dented car fenders." Nice. And is there anything more awesome than an Aliens PS3? Yes, an Aliens PS3 that can play XBox games. Did your head just explode by my suggestion of awesomeness? It's true, I have the power of suggestive thought. Don't believe me? You should take your shirt off right now. Wait -- damnit, hold on. You should put your shirt back on. Now, ladies only -- you should take your shirt off right now. Awh yeah! Hypnotics, baby -- I have them. Now touch your nipple.

Hit the jump for two more shots.

Aug 15 2008 Mmmmm, Gamey: The NES Lunchbox

nes-lunchbox.jpg

So somebody made an Instructable about how to turn a NES into a lunchbox. I can't imagine it's all that difficult, but the last time I tried to mod anything I ended up with a nipple infection. Hey, piercing looked easy. So yeah, make your own NES lunchbox. Or, if you give me a few hours, I'll make a PS3 lunchbox and post an Instructable.

UPDATE: Shit, I think I voided the warranty.

May 15 2008 Completely Inappropriate Austrian PS3 Ad

censored-ps3-ad.jpg

Sometimes, being The Intrepid Geekologie Writer requires me to report on things I'd prefer not to. This is one of those cases. Featured here is a real PS3 ad created by the TBWA\Wein agency for the Austrian market. Long story short: It's a naked dude -- with a thumb for a penis. You heard me --- a thumb for a penis. And, as my wife so lovingly pointed out, it's way bigger than my unit even after using the pump. So yeah, I'm killing myself. Oh you think that's funny do you? Making fun of The Geekologie Writer for the cruel joke God played on him? Well I hate you. Go eat a thumb.

Oh, and ladies -- if you think every man hasn't tried playing video games with his favorite digit before, you're kidding yourself.

The NSFW picture after the jump.

WARNING: It's a dude with a thumb for a penis.

Feb 7 2008 PS3 Rainbox Six Mod Is A Little Las Vegas

rainbow-six-mod-1.jpg

This PS3 console diorama was created by German modder Butterkneter for a special UbiSoft Rainbow Six Vegas promotion. As you can see it's a little mock up of Las Vegas casinos. It looks good, but takes up a lot of room. I don't think that would fit in my entertainment stand. Besides, where are the hookers? No Las Vegas diorama is complete without a couple scantily clad streetwalkers. Like Sparkles and Ginger, who both treated me really well the last time I was there ;)

Honey -- if you're reading this that was just a joke. I really was at the convention the whole time, I didn't even have time to gamble (snicker) let alone visit prostitutes. Seriously, I swear.

Sparkles and Ginger -- You owe me for the free advertising.

A couple more pictures of the mod after the jump.

Feb 4 2008 PlayStation 3 Ripoff: The PolyStation 3

polystation-3.jpg

British gadget reviewer Dr. Ashen recently took a look at the sweet new miniPolyStation 3. In case you really can't tell, it's a turd molded to look like a little PS3. You don't even plug the thing into a television, it's got it's only little screen that pops out. It's totally awesome and I want one for my upcoming birthday. Along with a lapdance -- from a chick (unlike last year) that's a non-relative (two years ago).

Worthwhile video review after the jump.

Jan 30 2008 PX-3600: Thanks, It's Just What I Wanted!

fake-console-2.jpg

While many of you probably got Wii's, PS3's or 360's for Christmas, my loving parents got me a, um, PX-3600. I know, I know, you're jealous. And rightfully so, this is a next generation console, and I have it now. The wicked PX-3600 comes with two old-school 9-pin controllers (one of which vibrates), and, well, that's about it. Thanks mom and dad! It's just what I wanted. Hey, the disk tray on top doesn't open. How am I supposed to put games in? What's that? All the games are built-in? Wow! Talk about future technology. I'm gonna start playing right now! post this on eBay immediately.

A picture of the system out of the box after the jump.

Sep 28 2007 Your PS3 Is Watching, Judging You

If you haven't seen this already, it's a preview of Eye of Judgment, one of the PS3's first titles utilizing the Playstation Eye camera peripheral. It looks like a pretty cool game, a sort of play at home version of this thing. It's supposed to be dropping the end of October. Unfortunately I don't have a PS3, so the only card based video game I'll be playing anytime soon is FreeCell. Maybe a little Spider Solitaire if I'm feeling real saucy.

Jul 7 2006 PS3 site shows Apple logo

ps3-apple-logo.jpg

There was a bit of speculation as to why the official PlayStation 3 site was flashing the Apple logo in the opening animation, but turns out it was just because they were using a trial version of Apple's Shake which displays the logo because they were too cheap to pay for the retail version. So there's no conspiracy between Sony and Apple and it was just a simple case of a multi-gazillion dollar corporation being too cheap to pay for some $500 software. Although they've already gone in and fixed it so that it no longer shows up on the site.

Jun 14 2006 Call of Duty 3 Wii screenshots

cod3.jpg

Treyarch, the developers of Call Of Duty 2: The Big Red One for the Gamecube, is developing Call of Duty 3 for the Nintendo Wii and these are the first screenshots of what they've got. They're scanned from an upcoming issue of EGM and are pretty poor quality, but it shows just how graphically unimpressive the game will be. Treyarch is trying to make it look as good as the PS3 or XBox 360, but their primary focus will be using the Wii controllers to change the gameplay from the other consoles. And even if it doesn't look remotely as good as the other consoles, the idea of using the Wii sticks to play a first person shooter excites me. I'll no longer have to pretend my fingers are guns and run around the house looking like an imbecile.

Jun 13 2006 PS3 controller spelling mistake

ps3spellingmistake.jpg

The new controller for the PS3 being displayed at the Ginza showroom has the word "Select" misspelled as "Serect." It's almost as if they're aware of the ongoing Engrish jokes and are poking fun at themselves. Only they're not. Which makes it sad. And maybe a little bit racist. More shots after the jump.
