Mesmerizing: Ink Drops In Water Shot at 4K Ultra HD

ultra-hd-ink-drops.jpg

This is a video of ink drops being dropped into water shot at 4k resolution (4,096 × 2,304). I included a diagram after the jump so you can appreciate how big 4k is versus 1080. Sadly, your monitor won't be able to play the video in its native resolution, but if you click the Youtube option to view the video in its 'Original' quality, you can at least watch it in as high of a resolution as your monitor will allow. My computer? My computer crashed twice just trying to take a screencap at 720p.

Hit the jump for the video.

Thanks to d00b, who watched the whole thing at 360 resolution just to torture himself.

lulz to all the kids going out and buying that 60 inch because they're dropping prices for this very reason. the insult will come for the time it'll take for them to finally release these sets with Wi-Fi built-in.

  • jimmybrite

You must have a shitty pc for it to crash like that, even when I didn't have my gfx card yet, I could play 4k videos on my Intel HD3000.

  • beastium

they fucked up. they shoulda shown colors mixing

  • its like angels cum

  • Ragnogroth

Too bad I don't have a 4K screen to see the video on.

  • SHOUTING

I might be wrong on this, but I think that the "original" resolution is utterly pointless to anyone whose monitor's native resolution doesn't exceed 1920x1080.

  • shepardtone

    That's inkredible.

  • No fair! My computer is steam powered. How is it supposed to cope with that?

Looks like celestial clouds. Funny how basic physical trends scale.

  • cabbo

    Oh aye it can.

    Pretty as fuck, GW.

FINALLY something I can touch with my mind, mesmerizing indeed GW

My rinkydink laptop was not pleased with my attempt to play this video at its original resolution.

  • flauridsen

Nor was mine. First attempt: Screen driver crashes - Second attempt (in fullscreen): Blue screen of death :P

  • NOTALAWYERBUTIPLAYONEONTV

The same thing literally happened to me. I had posted the comment in between the driver crash and the BSoD.
