For The Ladies (And I): Futuristic Spiral High Heels

spiral-heel-1.jpg

This is a pair of single spiral high heel (that's kind of similar to this thing) from designer Julian Hakes. It looks like something you'd see in a cheesy futuristic movie. It's not though, it's a real shoe and you can buy them in a bunch of different colors for around $205. Just don't ask me to carry you after you fall and break both ankles. That reminds me -- I saw an abandoned electric wheelchair at a bus stop when I was driving the other day. There was literally NOBODY around. For a second I seriously thought the Rapture had just happened. Then a homeless man across the street exposed himself to me and I kind of wished it had.

Hit the jump for a couple more shots, including what the shoe looks like being worn by a woman standing on a desk.

Thanks to Lucy the cat, whose owner probably doesn't realize just what a special cat they have.

  • That can't be good for your feet!

Looks like a good way to break your ankle..

  • why is she standing on a conference room table?

  • Hayley Prychun Rodgers

    Every heard of arch support?

  • n11

These are actually pretty cool-looking. The aesthetics of the spirals goin upwards while also acting as the heel is clever.

  • Jadis

clever? Yes. Should actually be worn? No... unless, you know, you want to suffer some bizarre foot wear related injury.

  • GizmoDuck

why is she standing on the table?!
    silly.... women

  • JimmyThr

The eternal quest to make women's feet hurt as much as childbirth, whilst looking both fabulous and ridiculous.

  • High heels make your feet ache as it is. These look like they would be worse.
Plus they're stupid expensive and I bet they don't do them in my size (I can't help being tall!)

  • May Powell

Does being tall have much to do with foot size? My sister's 5'9"-ish with size 5s. I, on the other hand, am at least an inch shorter with size 9s.

  • Generally, tall people have larger feet than shorter people. Not always but generally.

  • Tennist0

    Alternatively, mobius strip high heels
