Mother Nature: Eagle Tries To Fly Away With Toddler

baby-snatching-eagle.jpg

NOTE: Brobro with the camera says the S word at the 0:13 mark.

This is a video of a golden eagle trying to snatch a kid up in a park and fly away with it. I think the kid was too heavy though, because the bird drops it just a couple feet off the ground. For the record, this is NOT where babies come from (those are storks). SPOILER: The video is actually a CGI fake, but don't let that stop you from showing it to your mom and listening to her scream about it. *gasps* "That poor child!"

Hit the jump and remember to keep an eye on the sky if you're out with young children. Unless you're driving. If you're driving then both eyes on the road, please.

Thanks to JBantha, Tan, Odinson anthoneeeezeeeefosheezeee and El Huevo, who agree this is exactly why fresh air is dangerous and nobody should ever venture outside.

Read more about eagle strngth here. http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/ind... Alaska and the West have some of the largest and they STILL can't do what this article suggests. The baby wold have to weight 7 to 8 pounds. That child looks over 20. When fishing in Alaska I have seen eagles carry whole salmon off which weigh 4 to 6 pounds.

While everyone is yelling out "FAKE!" I actually take time to read the description, "SPOILER: The video is actually a CGI fake, but don't let that stop you from showing it to your mom and listening to her scream about it. *gasps* 'That poor child!'"
    Can people be that stupid?

  • Michael Knight

yes. Steve, if i may, meet the world.

  • I like how on MSN there still contemplating if this is fake or not.......

    LMFAO!!! mother nature takes revenge.

it's possible. I doubt that baby weighed much more than the eagle judging by his size and apparent age. Though it seems he was too heavy for the eagle to get very far with him. Or perhaps the little guy pooped himself and the eagle decided that didn't smell very tasty.

  • Yep

The Harpy Eagle in Central America can do this. It's regular food supply has included monkeys, sloths, and any other small mammal it can find. The talons are as big as grizzly bear claws. One of the largest eagles on earth.

    Fake? It was ZEUS.

Birds of this size can and will tackle large prey. That it could lift this small child a short distance comes as no surprise. Dont forget, it was a short distance and it did drop the kid. What do you think the kid was a trained actor? I bet he was put up on the greenscreen too. REFERENCE:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

I think the keyword here is "tackle".

  • Sigmund Smudge

Interesting that the phrase "oh shit!" is universal.

  • It's fake but this will stir the idiots in general and in congress. Nothing good will come of it.

  • Chad Burton

maybe the democommies will ban birds

  • westmclarenmerc

People should really put a ban on eagles, how many more kids have to die before these kinds of birds are illegal? (sounds just like some other bullcrap I'm hearing about guns these days.)

  • Meseta

some would say, this kind of behaviour is ill-eagle

I think we would all do well to remember the words of Thomas Jefferson here:

"As to the species of exercise, I advise the eagle. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your eagle, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks."
