Now My Brain Hurts: Impressive Anamorphic Illusions

anamorphic-illusions.jpg

This is a series of anamorphic illusions. Basically they're photo-realistic prints that, when viewed from just the right angle, look like what they're supposed to. But if you move them, you see just how distorted the actual image is. Be careful though, you might get a headache. I got a headache. "That's a hangover." Shhhhhhhhh! I'm going to tell my boss it's a migraine and try to leave at lunch.

Hit the jump for the worthwhile video including this Rubik's cube, a roll of tape, and a sneaker.

Thanks to my buddy Terry, who does this really cool illusion where it looks like his thumb is severed. It's not though, he's okay.

the rubic's cube, and the roll of painter's tape take their place among the desk clutter after they are shown.... But at different angles than their respective "illusions" I say FAKE

I guess seeing isn't believing. Thanks a lot, internet.

Take a Q of mushrooms and watch that on repeat with pink floyd in the background.

Really this is just showing off an impressive printer.

Yeah, I find it very hard to believe these are drawn. Still an impressive job of distortion, even if the work is digital reproduction.

  • ah, I see what they did there. Optical illusions FTW!

  • $10 says this is a subversive viral campaign for a new flavor of Doritos.

  • BillGatesIsYourDaddy

    this is the devil's work

  • Optical Illusions and a Cat....this is going viral

  • westmclarenmerc

Yes, but why? because of the illusions or because of the cat?

  • Both. Mostly the cat.

  • Alex

He should have spun the cat around to prove it was real!! jk : )

  • Those were neat. And the cat was really cute.
