Man Recreates Bilbo Baggins' House With 2,600 Balloons

bag-end-in-balloons.jpg

This is a video of Jeremy 'Balloon Man' Telford recreating a corner of Bilbo Baggins' hobbit hole Bag End out of 2,600 balloons over the span of three days. He does a good job. Sure if I had been involved it would have been way more detailed, but I wasn't invited to participate. You swallow ONE too many balloons and have to go to the hospital to get your stomach pumped and all of a sudden you're a liability. Just be thankful I don't have a balloon sword right now, mister.

Hit the jump for a time-lapse of the build.

Thanks to Nate, who took the time to tell me he's actually scared of balloons because he's always afraid they're gonna pop. Ahahahahahhaha, sissy! (Me too though is the thing)

This is a series of memorable scenes from the Lord of the Rings trilogy imagined in a stained glass style by DeviantARTist breathing2004 (aka Jian Guo). They're all beautifully done, and if I found a magic lamp right now I'd probably use a wish to live inside one of them. The... / Continue →

This is the 50,000+ piece diorama of Lord Of The Ring's elf haven Rivendell built by LEGOManiacs Blake Baer and Jack Bittner. The 30" x 40" piece weighs 120 pounds and took over 600 years to build. Well, that's just my guesstimate, but I've never lost one of those 'guess how ... / Continue →

Remember last week's Dark Tower/Eye of Sauron LEGO build? Well it turns out it traveled with friends to the 2011 Brickcon. These are them, starting with an absolutely massive (like me) Minas Tirith. I posted a couple more pictures after the jump, but you'll have to check out... / Continue →

Cool, you are quite talented! However, why did you shape balloons in the cabinet, chandelier, and various other set pieces like large black, brown, and beige dicks? He he he, kind of gross.

  • he prolly was on a 3 day meth binge, otherwise no sober human being would take the initiative to do this....

  • THIS IS MY NIGHTMARE.....globaphobia....

Anyone else surprised this guy has a kid?

  • Not really, gals like talent these days. Considering that this can support the family, then everything is peachy-keen.

  • It's not a lake of a woman, it that I would worry about having a kid if my work was with little easily popped balloons

  • BillGatesIsYourDaddy

he may have purchased the kid on craigslist. I sense the virginity is strong with this one.

  • This is the most random thing I've ever seen.

  • painweaver

Obviously, this man has no job, or wife, but how can he support a little kid, and himself while staying at home making balloon hobbit houses all day? Who thinks of this shit, and has the skill-set to pull it off? AND who decided to mate with him? This video raises more questions than answers. I would like to see a part 2, which addresses some of these ponderables.

  • Yes. Because doing things you actually enjoy means you have no life. :P.
