Get Back In The Ocean!: Giant Life-Size Blue Whale Kite

This is a 30-meter (~98-foot) blue whale kite constructed by Peterlynn Kites. I guess it's kind of a balloon kite though because it's inflated. Want your own? Well you're in luck, because they sell them for $6,000. Or you can get a 16-meter version for $3,800. Or an 8-meter one for $1,300. Of course if you get the small one you should expect everyone else on the beach to make fun of you. Hey, look at that poor bastard with the little 8-meter whale kite -- I bet he sleeps in his car! "What car?" LOLOL.
Hit the jump for a bunch more shots.

Thanks to Caryn, who asked me how it stays in the air. How the hell am I supposed to know? I'm just a guy who doesn't understand why jumping off the roof with a garbage bag doesn't break your fall.

This is the 20-foot long (it looks longer to me but I've ridden real dinosaurs though so I should know) balloon animal Acrocanthosaurus built by balloon-twisting professional (and awesome dude to have at a kid's birthday party) Larry Moss and his team at Airigami for Virginia's... / Continue →
