They Did A Good Job: Astroturf Covered Car For Sale

astroturf-car-1.jpg

This is an astroturf covered car for sale on eBay in Australia. Why cover a car in astroturf? Because that's what you do when you have a 1998 Mitsubishi Magna with 218,000 miles on it. That, or take the plates off and drive it into a river.

This is your once in a lifetime chance to own THE Astroturf Car! This car would be awesome for any business or private use as it draws more attention than a Ferrari (plus you don't look like a douche).

The car is a 1998 Mitsubishi Magna that was covered by 35mm high quality astroturf, looks better than your lawn! It drives well but needs some attention as it has a few leaks. Since you are awesome you won't care that it doesn't come with rego or safety certificate, but it does come with spare astroturf!

Admittedly, it does look like they did a pretty good job applying the astroturf. Arguably the best astroturf on a car that I've seen, and I've seen LOTS. Probably hundreds. "Hundreds?" Dozens. "Dozens?" Okay I feel like I've seen one before, and that one was shitty.

Hit the jump for a couple more shots.

Thanks to Jarrad, who's actually considering bidding and promised I could hit golf balls off the roof if he wins.

I've often wondered what kind of car Pac-Man would drive, and now I know. He doesn't just gobble dots -- he gobbles the dotted line! OM NOM NOM!! And, in case you can't see this and somebody is reading it to you, the car is bright red and yellow. Kind of like a firetruck/sc... / Continue →

These are Invisiplug wood grain surge protectors. They're designed to blend into wood grain flooring and not be such an eyesore. They make the perfect ironic statement for that hipster living room that's all tile. Still, even if you do have wood grain floors that actually ma... / Continue →

Because scooters and pogo-sticks are both cool, but not like super cool, somebody combined the two into the JumpX, a poorly named (come on -- PoGooter) pogo-stick/scooter hybrid. Does it do tricks? You bet your sweet padded ass it does tricks! You get good at this thing and ... / Continue →

Why bother with this? Lewis Hamilton is just going drive by and steal it all.

"it draws more attention than a Ferrari (plus you don't look like a douche)"

If the attention you're looking to draw is laughter, you've succeeded.

Just remember... driving a 200,000 dollar sports car makes you look like a douche and paying to have your car covered in turf is cool. He's obviously been smoking too much of that synthetic grass covering his p.o.s. car.

  • I'd paint the turf black with silver "highlights"

  • If I was to buy this....well I would get a little action figure (Skelator or Optimist Prime) and a teeny tiny lawn mower. Then add them to the hood of the car.

This just got more creative. ;)
