Weta Workshop Sent Valve A Functional Portal Turret

weta-portal-turret.jpg

This is a video of Valve employees unboxing and playing with the spot-on Portal turret replica sent to them from Weta Workshop. It even has motion-tracking capabilities so it can aim at you wherever you go. It doesn't shoot anything though, just has some light-up gun effects and sound. Now I know what you're thinking, "That doesn't look anything like a Portal turret, GW -- it's a box! Have you even played the game before?" Nope, neither one. I just blew your mind didn't I? "Plus lost a lot of respect." *pinching cheek* Daaaaaw, you still had some left for me?!

Hit the jump for a short video of the unboxing and demo.

Thanks to Tone, who -- you call me a friend, but you only want my gifts, and I'd never see you if I had no loot. Anybody?! Come on, that song was great!

Am I still the only one thinking that that thing is what happens when a Wii and a Xbox 360 would have a child in Tsjernobyl?

  • Gary Guillot

Does this mean that Peter Jackson is interested in making a film adaptation of Portal?

  • Naz

he would make it into three parts though...

  • McfeelySmackup

and then a 3 part sequel

  • Emmitt Morgans

    Correction: Prequel...

Be happy he didn't say Geogre Lucas, because then the film would've been changed 14 times in 7 years.

  • I so hope you're right!

Weta Workshop: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

This, along with 'I'M THROWING MONEY AT THE SCREEN BUT NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!1!' is quickly becoming my new most annoying overused internet comment.
