You're Waving It Wrong!: Sonic Screwdriver TV Remote

sonic-screwdriver-remote-1.jpg

This is the $100 Dr. Who Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote. You touch different sections of it and wave it around to change the channel, adjust the volume, etc. etc. Plus you can point it at a roommate like a magic wand and be all, "Hocus pocus, be gone with you!"

Using simple and intuitive movements you will be able to use the Sonic Screwdriver to control your devices just like The Doctor. Rotate clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the volume on your iPod dock; flick the Sonic Screwdriver up and down to change TV channels or navigate the program guide; and even open your DVD tray by pulling back on the Sonic Screwdriver.

With 13 gestures and 3 memory banks, you can store up to 39 remote control codes on the Sonic Screwdriver: plenty to control all of your Earth-based entertainment equipment. In Control Mode, each gesture triggers a classic Sonic Screwdriver sound effect and the tip illuminates with a bright green light. (There's also a Quiet Mode if you're stealthy.) And because The Doctor doesn't let just anyone use his stuff, there's a Lock Code that allows you to ensure that it's yours... ALL YOURS.

Man, that thing looks like it would make a cool dildo. Hey -- don't mind me guys, just playing with my dildo FROM THE FUTURE. "This is the second game night in a row he's done that." *flips Monopoly board* POP OFF!

Hit the jump for a video demo.

Thanks to LadySherlock and Rev Dr Dom, who change the channel the old fashioned way: yelling at a kid to get up and go do it manually.

I already have the toy version and I don't really need a universal remote, but it's just so frakking gorram SHINY!!!

    Btw, it's "anticlockwise"...

Since when does the doctor say "
Hocus pocus, be gone with you"?

..didnt they do this with a wand or something years ago, and it didn't cost nowhere near this.

Better known as the "Harry Potter" wand remote, and its MSRP was almost as much as this, but you could definitely find it for cheaper.

Ir looks like the thing Quaid used to remove the bug from his head in total recall

  • Was that not some gun shaped do-hickey?
